I'm currently working on fixing all the bugs remaining in SoS. Once it's done, I will post a new version that doesn't have bugs and is optimised here as well as updating the free version on itch.io (the free version won't have the vrm import feature, buttslam ability as well as the creative mode) so that people can try a smooth build for free to see if they like the game since lots of people on itch said that the game run poorly on older machines.
Here's more information about the state of the 2 projects (Scale of Survival and a Growing Concern).
I finally bought a desktop computer with better components few days ago and tried to open Scale of Survival on it. The difference compared to my laptop is quite impressive : I no longer have lags in the editor, compiling the game takes way less time, opening the project no longer takes 15 minutes, etc... developping the game no longer feels frustrating so now I feel motivated again to continue working on Scale Of Survival.
Before I implement any features I want to polish the current game : there are a lot of bugs and optimisation issues that I'm trying to tackle. Here's the bugs I currently fixed :
- the escape button didn't close the settings menu when you're in game
- heat/ice vision didn't work on Milltina (the laser offset in the settings menu were applied on her instead of the vrm)
- the rage spell was infinite
- characters were way too shiny in endless mode (the bloom effect was too high)
- changing the keybindings didn't work if another key was used : for example if you use "W" for up and "Z" for left, changing the up key with "Z" didn't work. (See end of video for the fix)
- Compiling shaders can crash weaker GPU : the player will now be able to choose whether they want to compile shaders or not when launching the game.
Here's bugs I am currently working on fixing :
- the xp/health particle have bugs, sometimes they don't appear (especially when you start to become huge)
- headpat no longer works in main menu
- headpat should also be triggered by simply clicking on the character head (simple suggestion from a player)
- when restarting the game, the sound disappear. The only way to fix it is going to sound settings
- sometimes, cracks don't appear when the giantess walk
- Red enemy lasers sometimes stutter
Once all the bugs are fixed, I’ll run a poll so Soldiers members can decide which feature I should work on first. (there are a lot of features I want to include before releasing the Early alpha on steam)
As for Growing Concern, I realised the this game is probably way too ambitious at the moment : instead of making the game a simple "find antidote and give it to the giantess" I want this game to have a story : basically instead of just searching the ingredients by yourself while the giantess is just standing, I want the her to always follow you. (After all, if your friend suddenly started to grow, you wouldn’t just leave her all alone).
The giantess (Morpho) will thus help you for most of the quests. I also want to tweak some features that will make the game more interesting : Morpho won't be your girlfriend : instead she's going to be your roommate at the beginning of the game. The relationship with her will increase/decrease depending on the player choices.
Morpho will initially be scared of her “growth disease,” but as the game progresses (and as she grows bigger), she will slowly embrace and enjoy her new size. Her growth will be slow, so the player doesn’t feel stressed and rush the game.The giantess will therefore grow little by little each day.
As for the story and dialogues, I'm not a good writer so I contacted a giantess writer so she will help me writing the story.
I also want to use custom assets for this game instead of premade ones to make the game feel more unique.
The development of Growing Concern will thus be on hold so I can fully focus on Scale of Survival.

I will still work from time to time and shows whenever I have interesting progress but I'll mostly focus on Scale of Survival from now. The second game is more ambitious so I want to first improve my skills as a game dev with making SoS.

So the other game will remain on hold until the right moment. Too bad, I was curious to see what it was like.

That's right. You have the vrm import feature/buttslam/creative mode in the paid version. I'd recommand to wait a little since I'm nearly done fixing bugs so I'll release a more polished and bug free version soon (probably today if everything goes smoothly)

Super excited for a story driven game and new pc! This is what I was hoping SOS would be. A good story can carry a game so well. Good luck and can't wait, but I shall wait. A project like this takes a lot of time to make right, so I hope you don't feel rushed and get to enjoy making the games.
