The spectators maintained a mindful distance, afraid of getting caught by any stray attack. Tides of fire and water raged, changing the landscape as dark clouds and smoke gathered above a sizable patch of San Cha’s slope, with the man mimicking a fiery deity holding the higher ground. Several pillars of flame erupted behind him like furious volcanic outbursts as air visibly trembled. Yi Huo sported an ugly expression on his handsome features, staring down at four flood dragons formed from water coiling around and roaring at the sky. Another proud figure, boasting blue hair and soft, pale features, stood on the central water-made flood dragon. He wore a deep-blue robe with a whale’s pattern embroidered on its surface. Not far from him were several other Gu Masters with similar blue robes and white waistbands embossed with silver brackets carved with the number ‘3.’
The Yi Clan!
It was a Super Clan with trading ability second only to the Shang Clan, boasting a massive caravan route through air travel using a pod of mutated whales—Flying Blue Whale. The Clan was also a mediator for trade between the clans from the Eastern Sea, something Lo Jik learned more about from Chen Jiu and Li Xian.
So, Rank 4 Peak Stage Yi Jun Hie wasn’t scared of Shang Clan’s Yi Huo or the latter’s Rank 5 Prairie Fire Gu. After all, Yi Jun Hie’s Rank 5 Blue Tide Gu was not worse. It enhanced the Rank 4 Flood Dragon Gu to fight on equal terms with jets of prairie fire.
“Where are your men, Elder Yi Huo?” Yi Jun Hie questioned smilingly as Huo’s expression darkened.
Things were rough for Yi Huo since he emerged from King Bao’s Inheritance. First, the news of Bai Ning Bing’s assault against the remaining three Tie Elders turned all his plans to recruit the demonic duo into ashes. While other Demonic Path Gu Masters might have killed the Tie Elders, Bai Ning Bing’s swift strike created such an opportunity. So, Yi Huo risked suppression from the Tie Clan and Shang Clan’s elders should he offer the duo an asylum. Second, someone had consistently exploited Yi Huo’s lack of elite scouts to methodically exterminate every Shang Clansman on San Cha Mountain!

Yi Jun Hie’s words struck Yi Huo’s weak point, lowering the latter’s battle intent before Yi Huo’s gaze sharpened.

A baleful grey glow illuminated the heavily guarded cave’s interior. Instead of the usual spot with Bai Ning Bing, Lo Jik stayed inside Li Xian’s residence, hidden from the rest. Everybody thought the duo was at odds. However, nobody could have imagined Li Xian to be Lo Jik’s slave.
Bulging veins mapped Lo Jik’s forehead as cold sweat drenched his body. His nose was a bleeding mess, and his eyes were bloodshot.
He wished to refine and fuse many Gu Worms—from stabilizing his Refinement Path set to delving into Thieving Heaven’s inheritance to hold a dominant advantage over others.
However, the materials to refine those Gu were too rare. Even Imaginative Strenght Immortal had little to no contact with Theft Path, not allowing him to refine the relevant Gu Worms before feeding them to the Rank 5 Particle Viewing Gu to reinvent their recipes based on modern materials readily available in large batches for cheap costs.
But it wasn’t a Theft Path Gu Lo Jik fused.

While an exemplary Gu from Thieving Heaven’s inheritance, it wasn’t a Theft Path Gu. However, this Gu Worm’s use also made Lo Jik VERY greedy in understanding the other hints for the inheritances. After all, Lo Jik had a few cryptic Thieving Heaven’s inheritances, with two clues pointing at the Northern Plains!
As for this Rank 5 Gu…
It was a Space Path Gu Worm—Void Soul.
Lo Jik didn’t know what compelled Thieving Heaven to create this Gu and if it was his creation at all. However, it solved one of Lo Jik’s most damning weaknesses—the Soul!
When activated, the Rank 5 Void Soul Gu created a layer of void—like a flowing fabric—around the soul to protect against any and all Soul Path attacks. It was one of the best defenses against the Soul Path Lo Jik had ever learned about, filling him with confidence to survive such measures. However, it consumed a terrifying amount of 20% Peak Stage Rank 5 Essence. Also, Lo Jik did not have the food to sustain this Gu Worm. Instead, he must use the Rank 5 Sustenance Gu for the Void Soul’s survival and pray to Ren Zu almighty that he didn’t encounter any Soul Path influence…
‘Which would be difficult to avoid…’ Lo Jik’s head hurt as he eventually healed himself. ‘Hu Mei Er would only return after making sufficient preparations. Either I avoid her at all costs… or persist and tip the odds against my favor. The Void Soul improves my odds by a total of 80%.’

‘The Yi Clan is here.’
He mused. ‘The Wu Clan should arrive soon. Their Clan is the farthest from San Cha. But the news of an assassin lurking in the mountain must have spread to the other clans. The reinforcements would include elite scouts capable of deducing things I’m not fully sure of.’
He felt slightly regretful. Lo Jik risked exposure if he continued his plundering. He needed to focus on his priorities, and after his soul’s defense came Bai Ning Bing’s existence.
While outstanding, Invisibility Gu had one weakness—the Gu Worms' ability to see through things. This ability wasn’t unique to Rank 5 Heaven and Earth Before My Eyes. It could merely see through almost everything. However, there was the X-ray Vision Gu, Heat Gaze Gu, Cold Infused Eyes Gu, Golden Eyes Gu, and more.
Despite their rarity, the Super Clans’ elite scouts would definitely be warier than before.

“I see,” she whispered, revealing an impressed tone. “It should suffice. I’m curious about its recipe. I never heard about such a Gu Worm despite my foundation.”
Lo Jik smiled.
“Sure, Senior Chen Jiu. How about you teach me your method of Dual Cultivating two paths?”
She giggled.
“I’m dead, not stupid, dear. Don’t I know you? I can only feel confident around you with a fleshy body to keep your lust in check.”
Lo Jik tilted his head. “Or just use the Soul’s Touch Gu. I don’t discriminate between flesh and soul, Chen Jiu. How about it? Up for a try?”

The humanoid shape further refined its features. The light twisted and formed a lavish, translucent gown. Hu Mei Er nodded.
“Hmm,” Mei Hua stretched her arms before lying on her side again. “I granted you the Gu Worms that formed the killer move for such a reason. Fate is mysterious, and nobody knows when you will encounter your preferred partner. But you must consider several things, including the Killer Move’s backlash.”
Hu Mei Er grew somber as her grandmother continued.
“First,” the woman spoke with a naturally sultry tone. “The Killer Move uses one’s soul to form a brand on the target. It won’t cease to exist until it finds a target. It shall seek the nearest familiar aura if your Little Giant King can defend his soul—You. I inherited this killer move and researched it for decades before learning to remove it from a target to change our Vital Humans. However, the brand returning to one’s soul is an irrecoverable change.”
“Because our souls possess unique aura, the brand will perfectly blend into your soul, turning YOU into Little Giant King’s Vital Human. Also, you favor the Little Giant King. I do have to say that this one is, IMHO, the best fic you have made so far. I do like th others a lot as well, but there is something that hits just right with this one. Cant wait to see how you develop it. Thanks for the amazing stuff.

well, Void Soul is THDV creation, who is known for concealment. Also, it's a Rank 5 Gu and works on activation, unlike a Will, that's always present to protect his soul. Finally, Hu Mei Er's Rank 4 or Rank 3 Gu have little to no chance in scouting the Rank 5 Gu. So, it's unlikely she'll discover anything even if she searches the soul

If she doesn't double check her target's soul defenses after he's had time away from her influence (not that it really changed much, but from her perspective, it should), she absolutely deserves to have her spell backfire (before considering the morality of intending to mindfuck/soulfuck the guy she likes into being her eternal sex slave). I wonder if Lo Jik is gonna be pissed when she enslaves herself for him, since he doesn't like unwilling partners . . . Though, tbf, with how hard she seems to have fallen for him, it's practically just insurance.
