I have been forever curious about the original of my last name if only to find the correct family crest. I tried doing the 23 and me thing and asked my parents if they have done any genealogy research into our family tree. Best we could come up with is a handful of crests that I don't feel are different enough in name to not be somehow related. I've always been curious. Seeing the amount of work that went into this honestly has me a bit discouraged. I am absolutely floored and impressed of the level of research that went into this though. This was wonderful to watch.

I adore your videos; I love the way you conceptualize abstractions (the forest of knowledge, etc). Also wanted to say that during the Tiffany videos, any time you would lament(?) "who else in the world would be interested / get excited / be so enthralled as to chase this kind of info" ... I was definitely waving my hands in the air like a bombastic Hermione, screaming "me! me! me! I LOVE this; I would do this!!" etc. My spouse gently pointed out that - due to limitations on my mobility and also the tragedy of living in the absolute middle of nowhere - I would only have access to Internet based research, and therefore, unable to gather the kind of data that The Moste Holy Grey can track down. (which was a bit of a bummer, and she had to sleep on the couch that night) I'm not sure I have a bigger point other than to say "hello, I love your work" and also, "thank you for helping this middle-of-nowhere home-bound gal keep her brain functioning & feeling a little less alone in the world."

Her name was Theophania... but she may have used Tiffany as her nickname... so yeah, it may have been a failed attempt to find a medieval Tiffany... but you may have been able to find a proof for Tiffany as a nickname for Theophania. Too bad you weren't able to find the actual source of the poem itself to check when it was written as it could have been the definitive proof of the Theophania = Tiffany and that some Theophanias used Tiffany as their name.
