[RELEASE] Loba gives in to Revenant
🕑 Added 2022-01-17 00:09:45 +0000 UTCLoba stared at her reflection and smiled. Despite everything, she was looking quite lovely today. A little sweaty perhaps, this place didn't have an elevator and she was on the 32nd floor, but even that had its charm. She ran her fingers over her cheek and further down, turning her face in the mirror, squinting to spot the tiniest imperfections.
A shape manifested behind her. As soon as she twitched at the realisation, it grabbed her, put his arms behind her, and locked her tight. With eyes wide, she stared into the lifeless glowing eyes that woke her up screaming almost every night since she was a little girl.
Revenant.
Her heart was beating faster now. There was some wiggle room in her fingers, but nothing in reach to grab. The market was set up in the living room and her gun was on her thigh. No matter what she tried, she could not hope to move a muscle against the hydraulics of a simulacrum.
Revenant however did not move. He simply stood there and stared at their shared reflection. A moment passed. She took a long, careful breath, and put on her most sarcastic, desperate smile.
“I assume there's something I'm missing here. What do you want, demon?”
Silence. Staring. Waiting.
This was not the first time he had the opportunity to kill her, of course. Nothing brought him quite as much joy as playing with her on the edge of death, again and again. It was simply never this direct. This intimate.
Revenant shifted a little, his mechanical eyes somehow twitching.
“Too easy,” he muttered, his booming voice vibrating in her ears. “I want... more.”
Loba laughed. “Oh, you want me to dance for you? Fall on my knees and beg for my life?” She struggled again, more for dramatic effect than anything else. “I can put up a fight if you like. Just give me one arm and you'll get a bullet between your eyes.”
Cold metallic fingers wrapped around her neck and pulled her close. There was no point to fight against it. A deep, howling laugh escaped Revenant.
“Don't lie to yourself. You want this.”
