I don’t know if they are coming from the same place, but Jared’s concerns remind me of the apprehensions Joey had about the “popular guys” at first in chapters 1 and 2: that yes they may be pretty and nice on the outside but there’s going to be a catch or a trap waiting for them if they aren’t careful. Joey’s concerns came from past experience, so def makes me wonder if Jared is speaking from his own experience!

@Topher Totally fair! I wasn't trying to say that Jared was entitled to know, more so that if I was in Jared's shoes and Ryland said, "he's my boyfriend and he's not rushing me, there's no hidden agenda," it might put my mind at a little ease.
