I might be ill informed: but googling makes it look like to me that this could mean that garfield will enter the public domain in 2071, instead of 70 years after Jim Davis dies

This video is incredible. Have you thought about the implications this could have for the Copyright status of Garfield? I notice that under US copyright Law stuff published before 1978 follows different rules than stuff published in 1978 and after.
