William had no claim to the throne because he has no blood-relation to the King, but their ruler was cruel. He was stealing from the local folk, whoring day and night and literally selling the country lands to the foreigners in exchange for so called "peace". And of course, for loads of golden coins.
On the other hand, William, was righteous. Someone had to do something in order to stop this cruelty. He trained for years and years and raised against to the "king". Even people of the kingdom hated their own "protector". Protector my ass..
He and the entire town gathered up and rallied behind William and his allies, Nevaeh and Daniel. There was nowhere else to call home if they were to lose their very own.
The battle was brutal and both sides were losing blood. Bodies lying around, William got a sharp cut in the face. Well, it was a small price to pay, to live like a human being rather than being a stupid sheep.
After 11 hours, the battle was won. A cruel king was taken down and exiled until the end of his days. And William, became the King and swore an oath to his people. There shall never be any cruel decision for his people to suffer.
