As much as you're right that the Edge match should have been Foley's last, this would have been really fun too. This would also let us keep Foley's incredible "ECW didnt love me back," promo in the build up to the One Night Stand trios tag match.

Mick Foley is in my top 3 all-time, and this is a very fitting sendoff! I think you could also fit in a reference to Mick's immortal anti-hardcore promo in which Mick's philosophy as a broken old man is a cautionary tale to younger wrestlers don't need to break their bodies like he did anymore. Owens could've then called him a hypocrite, telling Mick how after cutting that anti-hardcore promo, Mick still did hardcore stuff to cement his legacy, and now he should take responsibility for all the young wrestlers following in his footsteps and hurting themselves to make their own legacies. It makes Owens the best type of heel, someone who is right but a dick about it!
