They ordered the food. Osmar, true to his style, ordered a family pizza and fifteen hot wings, while Valeria opted for something lighter. During the conversation, Valeria couldn't help but watch as his friend eagerly devoured every bite. Osmar ate fast, as if each slice was a challenge he had to overcome. When he finished, he let out a loud belch that echoed in the restaurant, making some customers turn around. Valeria, visibly surprised, could only smile nervously. “You've definitely changed,” she said with a mixture of amazement and humor.
As night fell, Alejandro picked up Osmar at the restaurant to take him to the movies. As they drove, they both sang at the top of their lungs “Dancing Queen” by ABBA, laughing between each verse. Alejandro, always curious, asked him, “How did it go with Valeria?” Osmar recounted every detail, from his initial reaction to the burp that stunned the diners. They both burst out laughing, enjoying the trust and complicity they had built over the years.
They arrived at the movie theater and opted for the VIP area, a luxury they occasionally enjoyed. Osmar, despite having eaten so much with Valeria, could not resist the larger combo: popcorn, nachos, hot dogs and soft drinks. As the movie began, Alejandro watched his friend enjoy every bite with almost childlike enthusiasm. In the dimness of the theater, Osmar took Alejandro's hand and placed it on his belly, seeking a gesture of affection. Alejandro, understanding the moment, began to caress it gently. They both felt an intense connection, a bond that went beyond words. Osmar whispered a thank you before turning his attention back to the screen, while Alejandro smiled in the darkness.
Later, upon returning home, Alejandro prepared a special evening feast for Osmar. A variety of dishes were spread out on the table, including cakes, ice cream, and other exquisite delicacies. Osmar, excited, began to devour the food with evident pleasure. As he ate, Alejandro could not help but watch him with a mixture of admiration and desire. “You have accomplished so much, Osmar,” he said, approaching with a warm tone. “I'm proud of you.”
