🕑 Added 2024-11-08 05:42:46 +0000 UTCThe newly built basketball court behind Lucas's mansion had become their latest playground. Jennifer was giving it her all, but found herself constantly surprised by Lucas's unexpected basketball skills. He handled the ball with surprising grace, making shots that had her questioning how much secret practice he'd been getting.
Jack stood at the sideline, recording their game on Lucas's phone. After they finished, Lucas grabbed his phone with a quick thanks and uploaded the clip to Twitter.
"Oh my god, look at your followers!" Jennifer peered over his shoulder, still catching her breath from their game. "You're about to hit a hundred million!"
The number displayed on his profile was staggering: 97 million followers. Lucas had left other celebrities and even major political figures far behind. If he reached 100 million, he'd be the first individual to hit that milestone.
"Honestly, I barely post anything," Lucas chuckled, watching the numbers. "Don't know how it got this high."
Jennifer wiped sweat from her forehead, giving him a skeptical look. "Is that false modesty or are you actually bragging right now?"
"Neither," Lucas shrugged, but his attention was drawn to the rapidly climbing numbers on their basketball video. Within seconds, it had tens of thousands of views. Minutes later, the counter hit a million views, with likes and retweets flooding in:
"Lucas Knight playing basketball with JLaw? This is the content we need ๐"
"He's actually good at basketball too? Save some talent for the rest of us ๐"
"The way Jennifer tries to steal the ball tho ๐"
The engagement numbers were surreal even by their standards - a casual afternoon of basketball turning into another viral moment.
Lucas's basketball video had an unexpected effect, drawing non-basketball fans into the sport. More surprisingly, it caught the attention of NBA royalty.
Stephen Curry was quick to respond: "Yo @LucasXKnight that handle and shooting form tho ๐ We got a spot open at the Warriors if you're looking for a career change ๐ค๐"
Michael Jordan's tweet followed: "Now I see why @LucasXKnight showed up at the Lakers game... man's trying to get scouted ๐ Got some moves though, not gonna lie."
Kobe's response particularly stood out: "@LucasXKnight White Mamba? ๐ What you say we give these Lakers fans a show? Black Mamba x White Mamba duo got a nice ring to it ๐"
The avalanche of responses from NBA stars within just twenty minutes was unprecedented. Lucas and Jennifer, fresh from their showers and lounging in the living room, watched in amazement as the view count hit eight million.
"Should I be worried about you leaving me for the NBA?" Jennifer teased, watching Lucas type his response to Kobe.
Lucas grinned and replied to Kobe's tweet: "@kobebryant Black Mamba x White Mamba? Lakers might not be ready for that much Mamba Mentality ๐๐ But you might need to teach me that fadeaway first"
The exchange set off another wave of reactions from fans and players alike:
"Lucas Knight x Kobe Bryant duo? MAKE IT HAPPEN ๐ญ"
"White Mamba is actually kinda perfect ๐"
"Bro really got the Mamba's approval ๐"

The basketball video's success was staggering - 48 million views and still climbing. Meanwhile, Lucas's Twitter following approached a historic milestone:
98 million...
99 million...
The next day, it happened: 100 million followers. A world record.
Vincent's call came immediately. "Hey, IAA wants to help produce a celebration video for hitting 100 million. Something with your fans, showing gratitude, really make it special."
"A celebration video?" Lucas's tone was skeptical. "The agency wants to do a whole production just for that? No need."
"Come on," Vincent pressed. "You just hit 100 million! You're probably the most influential person on the internet right now. You deserve a proper celebration video!"
Lucas smiled to himself. "Sorry, but I've got something else in mind."
"Oh?" Vincent's curiosity was evident. "What kind of plans?"
After Lucas explained, Vincent fell silent, clearly surprised by the unexpected direction.
Later, Neil called with similar questions about celebration plans and gratitude posts. Lucas shared the same response - he had a different vision.
He'd been monitoring social media closely, noticing something that reminded him of his previous life. A group of ALS patients were trying desperately to raise awareness, but their posts were getting lost in the noise. Unlike the viral sensation he remembered from his past life, their efforts weren't gaining traction. Lucas knew this was his chance to use his platform for something meaningful.

With Jennifer set to leave for work tomorrow, she was trying to focus on finishing Stranger Things when she overheard Lucas giving strange instructions to Jack and Simon. Her head snapped up from the TV screen.
"Wait, what?" She turned around completely. "You want Jack to dump cold water over your head?!"
Lucas turned to her with an amused smile. "Thought you were engrossed in your show."
Jennifer felt her cheeks flush at being caught eavesdropping, but pressed on. "Are you serious right now? You hit 100 million followers and instead of some fancy celebration video, you want to post content of yourself getting drenched? What's going on in that head of yours?"
"Trust me," Lucas said with that patient tone he used when he knew something others didn't. "It's for a good cause."
Jack and Simon exchanged bewildered looks. In all their time working security for Lucas, they'd seen him make some unexpected decisions, but this was new. Still, they'd learned to trust his judgment, no matter how odd his requests might seem.
"Should we add ice to the water?" Jack asked, trying to maintain his professional demeanor despite the unusual nature of the request.
Simon elbowed him. "Don't give him ideas."
But Lucas's eyes had already lit up. "Actually, yes. Lots of ice."
Jennifer threw her hands up in exasperation. "I can't watch this. Actually, no, I have to watch this. This better be worth it."

Later that noon, beside the pool, Jack and Simon stood with a massive bucket filled with water and ice. The contents made a threatening sloshing sound with every movement.
"Last chance to back out, Lucas," Simon said, eyeing the bucket with concern.
"I got this," Lucas replied, though his eyes stayed fixed on the ice-filled water.
Jennifer perched on a nearby chair, phone ready to capture whatever madness was about to unfold. Simon positioned himself with the camera as Jack lifted the bucket.
"Sure about this?" Jack asked one final time.
"Just do it."
Jack sighed. "Alright, you asked for it."
Jennifer watched anxiously, questioning her boyfriend's sanity as Jack lifted the bucket higher.
The ice water cascaded down, and Lucas's composed facade shattered instantly. He gasped loudly, his whole body shaking as the freezing water drenched him completely. Jennifer couldn't help but laugh at his reaction, even as concern flickered across her face.
Through chattering teeth, Lucas looked directly into the camera. "I-I just took the Ice Bucket Challenge," he managed, water dripping from his hair. "And I'm challenging my good friend Paul Sterling to do the same." His voice grew stronger as he continued, "This challenge is to raise awareness for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. I'll be donating a hundred thousand dollars to the ALS Association, and I encourage everyone watching to learn more about this condition and consider donating what they can."
Simon lowered the camera, looking impressed. Now they understood - Lucas wasn't just making content, he was starting a movement.
Jennifer rushed to Lucas with a towel, wrapping it around his shivering form. "You're crazy, you know that?"
"Thanks," Lucas said through chattering teeth, then turned to Simon. "Did we get it?"
Jack looked anxiously at his fellow security guard, hoping they wouldn't need a second take.
Simon scratched the back of his head with an exaggerated frown. "Oops!"
Jennifer and Jack's faces fell instantly.
"It's fine, we can do anotherโ" Lucas began, still dripping.
"Got everything perfectly," Simon's face broke into a grin. "Maybe I should switch careers to cinematography?"
"Real funny, man. Next time I'll volunteer you for the ice bucket," Jack grumbled, though relief showed on his face.
Simon's soft laughter echoed across the pool area.

Later that afternoon, #LucasKnight100M dominated Twitter's trending topics. Dick Costolo, Twitter's CEO, posted a congratulatory video celebrating Lucas's historic achievement as the first individual to reach 100 million followers.
But what truly captured the internet's attention was Lucas's own post: a simple "Thank you for 100 million" tweet accompanied by the video of him getting drenched with ice water. The footage showed him, composed at first, then gasping as the freezing water hit, before recovering to issue his challenge to Paul Sterling. The stark contrast between what everyone expected for such a milestone and what Lucas actually delivered left social media in a frenzy.
The internet was completely blindsided by Lucas's video. They'd never seen a modern A-list celebrity looking so vulnerable and undignified - shivering and gasping as ice water cascaded over him. It was raw and real in a way that even Leonardo DiCaprio's famous Titanic scene couldn't match. The fact that Lucas's wet clothes revealed his athletic physique didn't hurt either, sending social media into a collective swoon.
Paul Sterling sat in his living room, staring at his phone in disbelief. "This crazy bastard," he muttered, watching his friend tremble on screen. But as Lucas's video hit 40 million views in just two hours and gained him another 3 million followers, Paul knew he couldn't ignore the challenge.
So there he stood in his garden, his wife recording while his manager held the dreaded bucket. The resulting video showed Paul gasping even louder than Lucas had, his normally collected demeanor completely shattered by the ice water.
"I-I nominate Chris Hemsworth," he managed through chattering teeth, "your turn, Thor!"
The challenge spread like wildfire. Hemsworth responded within hours, his own video showing the God of Thunder himself brought low by a bucket of ice water. Each new celebrity participation amplified the movement exponentially.
Within twenty-four hours, #IceBucketChallenge dominated Twitter. By the next day, it had crossed platforms to Facebook, with everyone from celebrities to ordinary people dumping ice water over their heads for the cause.
The ALS patients who had been struggling to raise awareness watched in amazement as their message finally reached the masses. What they'd been trying to achieve for months had been accomplished in days, thanks to Lucas Knight's unexpected use of his historic 100 million follower moment.
