Landing in The Valley

Apologies for the lack of new art posts this past week. I only just got back this morning from vacationing with family and friends--some of which haven't seen in over six years--for various graduation, reunion and Father's Day events in my old college stomping grounds in and around central Ohio. It was a nice time!
One of my favorite parts of the trip was sharing a cabin and hiking about Hocking Hills State Park for a few days. I can't believe in all my time living in that state, I had never gone there before. It's gorgeous. And as some of you might know, part of the visual inspiration for Jeff Smith's Bone--including the real life Old Man's Cave. It was like walking through the The Valley.
I naively thought I'd do a lot of drawing while I was there, but found it impossible while keeping up with so many other humans, especially the six of which who where 13yo or under. So instead, here's a few pics I took to go along with the--which I felt--appropriate timelapse of Kara up above. Still one of my personal favorite drawings I've done of her.

Gosh, I love nature. I hope it sticks around for a little while longer.
Anyhoo, catching up on ten-thousand different things today, but I'll have some new art to share with y'all in only a day or two. I had a bunch of stuff already in various stages of completion before I left. In the meantime, have a beautiful rest of the day!
