BIG ANNOUNCEMENT π€
Last week, I finally received all the components to build my new computer! After spending my weekend assembling everything myself, I spent the last days reinstalling all my software, transferring my files, and configuring everything properly to be able to run tests as quickly as possible. I started by running a quick benchmark out of curiosity... I went from a score of 770 (on my old PC) to a score of 6600 π€―π€―π€― !!! We're not talking about a PC that's 2 or 3 times more powerful here, but 9 to 10 times more !! Needless to say, at first, I had doubts and had to check...
Spoiler alert: It's indeed x10 more powerful !! It's a whole new world! I no longer experience any lag in the viewport; I can finally read my timelines properly, change and adjust my lights, and everything else in preview/render mode, whatever, without crashing my software or having to render 60 times just to adjust the power of a f*cking single light!
The little I've been able to test so far really hypes me up for what's to come! On my old PC, I was really starting to feel frustrated and limited by the performance, especially compared to the ambitions I had. Now, I'll be able to unleash my imagination and implement new techniques without fearing everything will slow down or crash my project.
I still have a lot of things to test, and I'll try to post everything here as I progress in my tests!
Oh, and it's also planned that I'll finish the Xenia project in the coming days π !! In the meantime, I'll leave you with my next post, featuring a first 4K artwork straight from my new 4070 ti π
