This was quite a mixed bag of difficulties for me, with the first piece being the most daunting, and the ones after being surprisingly smooth sailing (maybe I missed something!). Either way, I had quite a bit of fun working on it, and I was really heartened to see many of your positive responses and kind words.
As always, feel free to let me know any specific questions you have, and thank you so much for all the amazing support! One more video to go for the month for the knight character illustration too :)

There are surprisingly many scenes of characters lighting up in film, but in this specifc case of mine, it's very much based on Abunai Deka (1987)!

The fireworks one is amazing!! You're too hard on yourself hahah, I think my instinct to make it more dynamic would be to add drama to the hair as it's already so flowy and I really like how you do loose hair on the wind in other pieces.

That's an interesting video idea, thank you for the suggestion! It very much could go back to the core idea of observation and combination with fundamentals (as with many things in drawing), but it's definitely an idea to explore more :)

Thank you for the feedback! I enjoyed working on those parts of the paintings very much as well, it's one more setting checked off my list of locations to try drawing too :)

Guweiz, will you ever do a video showing us how you approach studying other artists? I've taken a look at a lot of artists for the past few months, but I would like to see your approach to it.

The 4th painting is my favourite! Guess I like shiny things >.< and fireworks are beautiful and very shiny :D But it also has a different mood, a bit of awe in it. As for your question, I don't think you pushed the light in the 1st painting too much, it looks so good! And I wanted to mention I admired reflections in water in the 3rd painting :)
