As some of you know, I've been working on the new gameplay mechanics for some time now.
The playable characters were just the beginning.
Now I've added an AI so they can walk and do things independently.
In combination with the new environments, it will change the game completely.
You can now use any character and interact with the environment or tell your companions to do stuff.
The first environment will be an apartment, but eventually, every character will have a unique environment for their specific needs.
I'm also working on a direct way to engage with them in activities outside of pre-made animations, similar to how the toys work now but using the tools your character has, and you will be in control of it all.
All of these updates are great, but they come with a cost.
I've changed the entire base code of the game and, in the process, improved the performance significantly, but this meant removing a lot of old logic, and for the characters to work, they need to be tweaked, so most of the old animations are incompatible.
All this means that the upcoming release will be a completely different game from the current one.
Therefore the current version will become VanimateApp Legacy Edition and will always be available for anyone that wants to play around with the old animations.
And the upcoming release will continue as usual.
The release is set for the 6th of January, and it will likely have Kairi, Emma and Foxy as playable characters. However, Monica and Liss will need a bit more work.
