It was only supposed to be temporary, but one thing led to another, and two years on she was still there. Of course- by one thing leading to another I mean that the sedentary position and constant offers of snacks had so fattened up the young officer that she could barely fit into the area behind the welcome desk- never mind into a squad car. In the end, it was cheaper to constantly replace the chairs her corpulent body spilled out of than it was to pay for bariatric surgery.
