Felix is proud to bring you his new mini-series Seeking a Fren for the End of the World, an exploration of the evolution of Conservative media institutions over the last 50 years. Starting from the original innovators, the true-believer psychopaths like James Dobson and Paul Weyrich, the men who took the wreckage of the Nixon era into the Reagan Revolution, we trace the movement’s progression to a toxic marriage of Buchaninite pseudo-populism, religious-right social conservatism, and Internet addict messaging as manifested in figures like Steven Crowder and JD Vance.
The series will contain 6 scripted episodes, and a 7th more conversational bonus episode of post-2024 Election conclusions. Meticulously researched with collaboration from Josh Cohen and Spencer Rider, filled with Felix’s caustic observations and humor, Seeking a Fren presents a definitive analysis of the conservative media and think tank universe, all things "Con, Inc." The series includes in-depth profiles of all your favorite creeps: Roger Stone, Roger Ailes, Pat Buchanan, Rush Limbaugh, Ron Paul, Matt Drudge, Ben Shapiro, Peter Thiel, Tucker Carlson, Laura Loomer, and more. Felix details the rise and fall of each of these stars as their movement devolves from the once-almighty Moral Majority to whatever the hell this is:
Beyond the media ecosystem, Felix also looks into how these figures & institutions impacted the Republican party itself. It's the story of how the party and its external apparatuses became completely intertwined & mutually reinforcing, resulting in the tail-wags-the-dog entertainment-as-politics chaos of the Trumpified GOP.
The first episode will premiere next Wednesday, December 11th for free on the Chapo feed on all platforms. Subsequent episodes will be posted the following 6 Wednesdays exclusive for our Patrons at Patreon.com/chapotraphouse.

We made the official deposit to start printing the main order of books with our great partners at Gorham Printing on November 14th. The manufacturers are estimating 10-12 weeks for printing. I know it's a drag to miss holiday season, but it's mostly because you all killed it with a truly massive order, an enormous task for these indie operations. So, we're hoping for books to start hitting your mailboxes in early February. While we're on the subject of conservative media influencing the party and vice versa: when Rush Limbaugh came to visit the White House during the Bush administration, HW carried Limbaugh's luggage to the guest room. Despite ingratiating himself to this extent, Limbaugh still refused to endorse Bush for reelection, all because of some tax increases!
