Dev Diary, October 11th, 2024
🕑 Added 2024-10-11 12:00:15 +0000 UTCAs mentioned in the last update, I decided to put in a bit of extra time and effort this week, and it paid off.
U4iA Episode 3 is now the largest release I've done regarding any numbers, whether it's script size, music, lewd scenes, or other visuals.
This is about the time in the development cycle when I stop posting numbers, but I've notified my testers of a potential date for testing. I don't want to put a definitive date out there, but a release within the next four weeks should definitely be possible. It all depends on my progress next week. I'll also get back to the estimated playtime when the testers have had their say.
If you've followed me for a while, you probably know that I've always done release date videos, and I've never missed a date I've put out there. Due to certain things that happened last time, I've decided to stop doing this. But I'll give you a date as soon as I feel I can lower my shoulders a bit.
For the preview... just scrolling through the pictures from the night before that you don't remember having taken.
Once again, have a lovely weekend, and stay safe out there. I'm very excited that we're getting closer to the point where I can show you the results of my efforts.

Without going into too much detail, having bigger updates means I'm faced with the endless need to defend why it takes the time it did to make it. Release date videos just became another place for those not following the development process to jump out and have a place to bash the update, or me. Things have changed a bit since the early days of LoF when you joined up. :)

Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to know. Guess I'll stick to the old version for now. Perks were one of the best ideas in U4ia in my book, shame you decide to ditch this concept it made the game even more unique

Then in that case, you have further cecemented your place as of of the top vn devs! After a certain someone made a guest appearance in Artemis (yes i know, I did a millionth at lol) I have now started a new pt of LoF. Everything you've done has solidified you as one of my top 5 favorite devs and can't wait to see what's coming!

You don't need to start over as long as your saves are from any Episode 2 version. The disclaimer is, that if your saves are from the first version of Episode 2, before the rework where I removed the 'time' and 'perks' aspect of the game, you will have an MC build (perception, strength, etc) that's not achievable anymore. This should not cause problems, but it's something to have in the back of your mind in the unlikely event something should come up down the line.

Great news, thanks Drifty. One question, do we have to start over due to changes you've mentioned a while ago (ditching some stats, mechanics I can't remember exactly) but I remember reading something about it and also that there's a possibility to keep playing with all of the mechanics that were there at the beginning it just won't have an impact beyond the choices I already made?

Drifty, random question but that blush in Roxy’s cheeks. Is that part of her natural character design or are you adding that feature to her? I’ve no issue with it I’m just curious since no other character has that lol
