Greetings! It's dev diary day once again.
Since last week, I have shifted focus from 0.8, the NPC simulation update, to the February content update. In regards to 0.8, I continued work on pregnancy. I implemented a version of a morning after pill, available at the pharmacy in town if you suspect you may have acted unwisely. I'll probably end up adding this stuff to the clinic on campus too, just so it's a sort of one stop shop for all this stuff.
I also implemented a system for discovering you're pregnant, since not being sure is of course part of the experience. I implemented pregnancy tests, which are generally very reliable but can give a false negative if it's very early on. If you go through a whole month of being pregnant without realizing it, you will be warned about being "late" — though, at this time, we're not actually specifically simulating that part of the cycle, it's just sort of implied. If you go through two late cycles without ever testing, your character will become pretty certain that they're pregnant even if you haven't tested yourself.
Of course, if we don't want just one month of lateness to be a reliable indicator, then we also need to have pregnancy scares that end up amounting to nothing, which I'm realizing in real time as I type this. Onto the todo list it goes!
The next step is to have NPCs go through a similar process by leveraging the NPC simulation events also being added in 0.8, and that's probably where I'll pick things up next month. Still on my todo list for 0.8 is: cheating mechanics, breakups between NPCs, events about influencing NPCs to get specific inclinations, continuing to extend D/s mechanics and sub rules specifically, and the rest of the pregnancy stuff. Safe to say that 0.8 will be a big one!
But, for now, onto the February content update.
First of all, our volunteer contributors have really been cooking. It looks like we'll have the usual fashion update from Hee Ho with some new clothes and hair options, as well as a new jewelry store. Hee Ho also has an entire holiday in the works, something to celebrate the coming of spring with its own party event set and a new storyline NPC.
Speaking of the changing of the seasons, HeartsDmise has sent over a whole set of new location images for the outdoor spots on campus. These will reflect the current time of year and also change when there's snow on the ground.
We've also brought aboard new contributor CGeorge, who's looking to make some improvements in gathering behind-the-scenes statistics and working them into the UI. For starters, there's a new tab that will collate and show info related to your streaming and online video side careers. There may be one in the works to show your character's income sources as well, and more specific info about your hangout/date history.
Meat Glacier has also contributed a handful of vegetable-shaped sex toys, following a spirited discussion on whether it's a good idea to use real vegetables for this purpose. Safety first!
But that sort of ties into one of the miscellaneous tasks I jumped into for my own contributions, which is granting some NPCs their own selection of sex toys. Depending on their Disinhibition and Sexual Knowledge, NPCs may now carry their own collection and no longer rely on the PC having their own, and they can use them in encounters. Which toys they have depends on their orientation and inclinations. Careful, that hot dom girl you've been flirting with may now be equipped with a paddle and a strap-on! If you'd prefer not to deal with NPCs having their own toys, you can turn this off under content options.
In addition, I've begun tinkering with the #3 priority from the recent development focus poll: expanding on the library basement. I'm adding a new event to the library basement set to add some more variety, and ultimately I want to expand this into a location you can visit on your own. This involves extending the furniture system so the X-cross and bench are properly functional, along with adding bondage.

After working on the library basement, I'll probably either do some more work on sports storylines or tinker with the texting system (which also scored highly in the poll). We'll see! I'm fairly satisfied with where sports are mechanically after adding the new practice system, but a couple of the storylines could still use some alternate paths and such.
Rfpnj has this to say about the romance book contest: "Deadline for submitting entries is Wednesday 1/28 so that the winner can be added to the game for next month." If you're looking for new library scenes I feel like this could be a fun place to integrate some hypnosis content - especially for MCs that have done the full psych extra credit progression, like a dom who's heard of the MC's trigger words and wants to play with that. Definitely want to second the comment about organising the hairstyle options a bit now that there's so many of them - it can be hard to find the one you're looking for in the long list.

I've noticed that on my save at least (I'm on 0.7.5g and I may have missed an update) it looks like characters are no longer wearing the jewelry you've gifted them Is that an intentional thing?

When I was going through the code (I like to edit some things to fit my personal playstyle/wants) I noticed it mentions unfinished mpreg, is that going to be implemented fully as an in game option or would it be locked to women unless a modder touches upon it?

I do have it in mind... there are some flags on certain toys related to how difficult they should be to insert... they just don't currently do anything. But sooner or later!

There's an inclination related to NPCs using your toys that unlocks when you buy your first toy. Gifting toys isn't currently a thing, but I'll add it in sooner or later. Doms may want you to use a chastity device once you're officially in a D/s relationship with them.

Yes, they will be able to, though generally speaking NPCs try to avoid becoming pregnant. There are inclinations like Risktaker and Breeding Kink that affect their attitude about it.

Fully support this, the amount of hairstyles that are just in one long list or block is overwhelming. Categorising them should be looked into, just like you said. Possibly with the Length(s) being a category ect.

You should probably clean up the character creator, there are so many options for even just hairstyles. Maybe add manus for diffeent types, like curly or straight hair.

I know your just implementing pregnancy. However I'm curious do you think you'd implement abortions at some point in time?

I think befriending an npc with dominant traits, that starts to notice if your PC is somewhat submissive, them taking you to the library would be interesting as in alternative to doing extra credit to experience it.

NPCs with their own toys to use, *and* bondage mechanics? You're spoiling us ❤️ Library event thoughts: - A variation on the "hard quiet" scene where the sub is tied with a vibrator in them and spanked any time they make noise. - The sub is tied with a remote-control toy (or toys) in them, and the control app is passed around the room for guests to tease and edge them. - Rather than being tied to bondage furniture, the sub is dressed in some appropriately submissive outfit (e.g. maid outfit, or something even more blatantly fetish-y), given some bondage that still lets them move around, and then assigned to offer and fetch drinks and snacks to the guests, while being available to tease and grope. Potential variations with toys on and in the sub. - A random occurrence during any of the other events (except the "be quiet" ones, I guess), where a guest wants to talk to you and/or your sub about your experience with BDSM, your knowledge of it, your preferences, etc, and you might impress them with your knowledge or you might get a bit of education from them, depending. Broader library thoughts: - I'd love to be able to invite fellow students to join the group, and have them become regular attendees. After all, educating the next generation in kink is the Librarian's purpose for these gatherings. - Could we see other subs engaging in play there? Could be the explicit "get tied up etc" kind, or more low-key power games. There are subs who *attend* the gatherings, after all, they just don't get to do anything visible as of now. - If the library group gets to grow, then maybe in later gatherings there could be multiple subs on display? - It would be cool to be able to socialise at the library gatherings, like at other parties in the game, with opportunities to discuss kink (potential for skill-ups), flirt, etc. And maybe the possibility to engage in some kink play - someone proposes to demonstrate a particular bondage tie (or volunteers to wear it), or suggests/invites some spanking, or the like? - Maybe the possibility for the sub to spend just part of the party tied up and on display, and then they tag out for someone else to take their place while they mingle?

weird question: will player characters with phallic genitalia be able to impregnate npcs and how would that work? Also will there be any inclinations based on impregnating others or getting impregnated?

I've been looking forward to a possibility of NPS's using my whips and paddles and them having their own is great! I wonder tho, will they be able to use my toys as well? Will we be able to gift toys to others? Will that "hot dom girl" be able to carry a chastity device and put it on us? Really curious about these.

Hmm... a pregnancy system? That sounds exciting too. But wouldn't it inevitably touch upon NTR or cheating, which some people might find sensitive? For instance, if the PC and her boyfriend are the same race but the baby is different, that’s a total drama right there. As a fan of NTR and cheating tropes, I’m really looking forward to it. Hehe. I know, I know. Some people hate NTR so much they even call it 'NTrash.' However, this game already features NTR and cheating elements, and I believe the introduction of a pregnancy system will inevitably deepen those aspects even further. It just feels like an unavoidable progression. I’m really curious if you guys have some juicy plans for this! Hehehe. 😍👌

Looking forward to the basement expansion! a couple ideas for scenerios: - sub is naked with arms bound behind them; the doms can call them over and tease/please/play as the 'meeting' goes on. Any 'happy ending(s)' depending on which doms the sub is with. (works as both sub and dom MC) - sub is restrained and dom inserts/attaches vib/wand and leaves it for sub to have to endure until either someone else removes or event ends (add possibility of TOO many orgasms - exhaustion and mental fuzziness for some period of time) - MC meets someone AT the meetings/events that they hit it off with (or they run into them later; perhaps at work?) and gets invited for "private play" event that will also feature bondage (as opposed to regular dates which do not seem to).

With the expansion of toy 'involvement', you may want to consider now the 'size' issue - does the MC *think* something is too big or small AND is the toy *actually* too big or small (causes pain or simply doesn't cause pleasure). And how should 'pushing the boundry' work. I say this because if you allow for it in the coding *now*, implimenting it later will be Soooooo much easier!
