If I may be so bold as to vent at you lot for a bit, I am not a religious man, I consider myself an atheist, I could be talked around into being agnostic, and an outright maltheist if pissed off enough.
Hell, I've faced down the very real possibility of death, and proceeded to make a pro/con chart on the various ways one death or another would be cheaper on those I leave behind. Not once did I bend my stiff neck enough to bother praying, instead, I tightened my belt and got to work to try and make my corpse less of a burden on others.
I don't know if that sounds like I'm bragging, believe me, I'm not trying to. Just trying to paint a picture of the kind of person I am.
Only once have I ever bent my stiff neck and prayed, and it was for a family member who was in pain.
I'm going to be doing that again today. My dog, the little black devil I've shown you lot a couple of pictures of, is currently at the emergency vet after having ingested something toxic. Maybe a sago palm seed, maybe something else. What I do know is that it was killing her, and that she's entered treatment.
As stated before, I'm not one for prayer, but no shit, I'm outright desperate, and there is truth to the saying that there are no atheists in a foxhole.
If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to ask you lot for a few good vives sent in my dog's general direction. Who knows, it might even help.
I have the outline of the next chapter of Kaiju Slaying, and I've got about a paragraph written. Being something of a career workaholic is helping me turn my mind to something else at least for a while. That's probably not the healthiest coping mechanism, but it's probably better than drinking. So I've got that going for me, which is nice.
I'll try to channel my anxiety into something productive, I'll do my utmost so as not to miss the weekend deadline but uhh, yeah, I'm going to have something else on my mind. I'll keep y'all updated and let you know over the next few days if it's likely that I'll miss the weekend upload, if I do, I'll try and make that the shortest possible wait.

Here is picture of doggo. She growled at the vet when they were taking the IV off so I could take her for a short walk. And yes, they have her watching Bluey.
I might have to buy a tablet so she can watch Bluey on the weekends.
