Our fourth trip to Japan (Throwback Thursday)
🕑 Added 2024-09-12 06:00:04 +0000 UTCyes, we are a bit obsessed with japan. ever since we watched terrace house on netflix in 2016. i didn't have a "real camera" until the fourth trip, unfortunately, so our first throwback thursday in japan will only have some firsts: our first trip to an onsen (a japanese spa) and our first trip to beautiful hokkaido (in the north of japan).
hokkaido is known for miso ramen (and the photo of michelle in the heavy coat is from sapporo's "ramen alley") where we unsurprisingly had the best bowls of miso ramen of our lives.
we also went to teamlabs planets (the source of the colorful photos), which is one of a handful of teamlabs interactive art exhibits scattered around japan. we had already visited borderless (which i believe was and continues to be their most well known one). and in the osaka vlog on our buncharted channel, we visit the osaka teamlabs forest experience which was also amazing.
no food in these photos though - how strange! haha

I love Japan and the onsen culture. I traveled there with a friend in college and our hotel had an onsen downstairs which was so relaxing after long days of site seeing. My friend and I had never really been nude around each other before, but the onsen made us get over that quickly and it just felt normal! Plus getting used to the nudity made the rest of the trip easier since we were sharing a small hotel room so showering, changing clothes, etc was a lot easier once we didn’t care about being naked in front of each other. It was an awesome trip!

We LOVE Japan! The food, the people, the scenery, the TRAINS! Everything about it is just so amazing. We're looking forward to our second visit next year! 😁 One of the few things we didn't do the first time was visit and Onsen, as we didn't find one we could go in together. Do you have any recommendations for our next trip?
