Based on a True Story: Survival, Sports & Heroism
🕑 Added 2025-05-26 04:58:01 +0000 UTCOkay, wow! I did not realize how many movies are technically “based on a true story.” Once I started putting a list together (and reading through all your amazing suggestions), it just kept growing! From survival stories tobiopics, courtroom and war; there’s honestly so much to choose from. I split them into four polls to keep it manageable, some may be a bit of a category stretch but I tried my best!
One vote per poll, I can't decide if the top winner from each poll should go in a final poll?
Ps-I have seen a lot of based on true stories throughout the channel and before (captain phillips, zero dark thirty, a beautiful mind, catch me if you can, the imitation game, social network, argo, the fighter, the kings speech etc!
pms-guys I really underestimated how busy it would be for wedding week/last week of school/full house of family staying here/kids puking and touched by a monster is going to be late. I am so sorry but great news-Carly had a beautiful wedding day yesterday and smiled the whole day. So excited for her next chapter!

"Eight men Out " a respectable 3rd place. De Niro is awesome.

Deepwater Horizon another fire movie for god sakes. people out there should join fire departments LOL "Eight men Out " is a better movie it's topical with the baseball commissioner finally making Joe Jackson and Pete rose eligible for the Hall of Fame after all these years but ...... Somehow people like fires on oil rigs. Sleepers ? again with that hateful vulgar mouthed creep De Niro.

Another movie with Wahlberg. Sigh.

We get it Clay, you like this type of movie. Not everyone does though. If she does watch The Pianist that’s 5 movies slots taken by based on movies, odds are that at least 2 of them won’t do particularly well on YouTube. Doing all of these at once just bogs down the channel in one genre for too long of a time. It’s not like they can only do this poll once.

The 4 winners will be a wide breadth of content. Plus, all high quality movies. This is a great and rare opportunity for the channel to get 4 diverse and high quality movies for reaction. Plus, way too much work/effort in compiling these movies/polls to distill down to merely 1-2 movies. Take advantage of having 4 polls (40 good movies total) to give 4 movies for reaction.

Pride of the Yankees would have been a great one to see.
