Can definitely lead to people not even really knowing what they're fighting for. People want a job and a purpose and clout. I get that. But war and killing isn't a game.

Thin Red Line is fantastic and would be the first Terrence Malick film on the channel. I was always taken by how beautiful it's shot contrasting the nature and the brutality of war.

I had seen it before but it's a harsh movie forsure, not being American it always wild seeing such hardcore patriotism no wonder lads want to sign up and fight so quickly. Such parallels with the present day but I won't go into that i'll just quote Ringo Starr instead "Peace & Love".
