Weekly Update! Commission Progress! Also started the Kaneki model!
🕑 Added 2025-04-18 17:38:35 +0000 UTCHey everyone! :D
I'll go over the commission stuff quickly as there aren't major noticeable changes it's been a big ol chunk of fixing small issues and getting the clothed version to work fully. It was tricky finding a balance for where Ada's hands will go so they aren't clipping too much into the clothing while at the same time not floating above her skin in the nude version.
Overall, the cloth simulations have gone very well, so I was super happy about that. :D They just took ages to back up the simulation!! The skirt, jacket, and hair took 2 and a half hours! and then I would render off the scene which would take 8ish hours (I would either start it early in the day or leave it overnight) and I did this 3 or 4 times I think. I went through multiple version just fixing stuff, I was cursed with fixing a lot of issues, rendering it off and then spotting more >_<
Curse it all! As I was posting the GIF above I spotted a small issue with Ada's left hand fingers just as she puts it on Susie's hand! That's next weeks problem though ^_^ I'm either going to play Monster Hunter or get bullied on DBD for the evening :D
For next week I will fix that one issue I just spotted but I believe that is this scene done so I shall be moving onto the next position. I know I want to put a bit more furniture in the corner of this room on the top-down looking camera but that can be added at any point so there isn't a major rush on that.
In other news I have made a start on the Kaneki model! It's still early WIP and some errors need to be fixed with smoothing out his skin and making some parts of him more symmetrical. Overally I think the skin tone is matching well but I want to improve the hair texture as I only quickly slapped it on.
I might need all your help on it though because him wearing clothes looks normal to me but when I go to his nude version his proportions look a little weird. They are almost identical in matching his in game proportions but it was just looking odd to me, I'm thinking it might be the same thing I came across when doing The Artist nude where she looked normal with clothes on but when you took them off something seemed weird with the body.
The main things I want to achieve in this animation is making a nice hair texture and also making his ghoul eye look nice which as a base I think the one below is looking pretty cool :D
I don't have any images of Sable just yet but I will be using the model I've already made for her and that already has her default outfit so that will save some time :D
That's all from me for now though! I'm glad it's the weekend because when I started this Kaneki model it felt like everything that could go wrong did go wrong D: I got there in the end though! I can't wait to fully dive into this next animation!
I hope everyone has had a lovely week so far and hopefully you will all have an even better weekend <3 Thank you to everyone for being here always means the world to me <3
