[BoofVR] Part 2 - New Character & Art Experiments
🕑 Added 2022-04-30 17:56:27 +0000 UTCHello hellos! :) This is the Part 2 post for BoofVR updates, more focusing on the visual side of things being made!
NEW CHARACTER - ATLAS REX
As you've seen in the preview image, we've remodelled and retextured Atlas, welcome to to the big dino character into the BoofVR universe! Atlas is an OC by @RexPecs on Twitter, and will be available for you to play with very soon. Here's some visuals of the new model:
Atlas is still undergoing rigging at the moment, but here's a quick glance of some rough animations made, for what's to come:
CHARACTER TEST - VEINS & THROBS
You've seen this quick gif in the previous post, and yes, there's currently tests around pulsing veins for whenever a character throbs or flexes certain muscles! These are currently what they look like, and more experiment on this will be done further as we go. These new animations will also be in-game later.
3D Printing - Posed Models
Some people have been asking if it's possible to purchase posed HQ models for them to 3D print for themselves of BoofVR characters. There's experimentation going on about that right now, and I will dive into making them available in the future! A quick glimpse of one here:
Upcoming New Visuals
These are quick notes on what's coming after Atlas gets rigged:
- New Environment: Onsen
- New Player Hands: Draconic/reptile
- Remaking Character: Ollie
I hope you all enjoy these previews, we're very excited to share them with you soon!
Again, apologies for no new build this month, most of the work we've been doing are more back end and will contribute towards being put together for the next build. We appreciate your patience, and will continue working on BoofVR <3
Cheer to you all! <3

your gifs give me hope you might add various growth animation/interactions but you say its just throbbing and flexing. will there be any way to force a chosen character to slowly enlarge in various ways?
