[BoofVR] Alpha v0.6 Update!

And finally, it's the new visual update for BoofVR from all the previews previously! I've been excited to share this out - while it's still rough and there's plenty more to dress, I hope you all enjoy the new aesthetic!

For the 2-part zip file download, you can download one of the zip files, wait for a day, and download the 2nd part after. This is the easiest way to work with the 5gb download limit on megaupload as a free user for now while I wait for itch.io to respond to me for a better download method. Use WinRAR or 7zip to then unpack the files into a folder once you have both zip files downloaded. Again, I apologize about this, and am actively looking into this daily.)

How To Run
1. Download from the link above. If you have low connection, you can always download the larger files one by one instead. Click Download here to download everything altogether:
2. Open and extract all files using WinRAR or 7Zip, in a folder wherever you wish! Your folder should look like this:
3. If there are any issues with the download link, please let me know - I'm currently still searching for better ways to file host builds :)
4. Run the .exe for PC mode. You do not need to install anything, this should work immediately just by double click on the BoofVR_Touch.exe file!

To Run VR Mode
Right click on BoofVR_Touch.exe> Create shortcut > Right click on the new shortcut > Properties > Shortcut tab > In "Target:", add -vr at the end of that line like the image below:

Issues & FAQs
- Character is currently affected by gravity and collisions when trying to lower them enough or float. This has been addressed and will be looked into for next build.
- VR not working for some people. Some notes shared here:
1. Rename the folder to just "BoofVR", it seems like there's sometimes an issue about having a "." in a folder name and VR would not start because of this.
2. Oculus Quest 2 seem to have issues at the moment and we're looking into possible reasons for this.
3. An idea to make a separate dedicated .exe for VR was noted.
If anyone else has notes or reports for performance, please feel free to mention them in the comments!
I'd like to especially know about performance for fluid effects with Were, and lighting for the day & night cycle test in the Beach level. Thank you!

Changelogs
• Majority of this update is entirely visual, hence why the project gotten larger in file size. This will be cut down and optimized down the road however, as there were assets made that were tests instead of final art.
• Old maps are in progress of being reworked, you can see them in-game!
• The Bathroom has been reworked
• The Beach level is a lighting test level - I would appreciate it if everyone can write their input to see how the level runs for them as I've wanted to try out the day/night system for VR+PC. Ignore how fast the day/night cycle is for now, it is just to test and see if your machine can run it well - please comment what your performance is like! <3
• The Garage is being reworked (WIP)
• The Sushi Bar is being reworked (WIP)
• New Werethrope model (WIP) is available and currently only loops, to test out and see if other PCs handle the method of fluids well
Further notes will be written the next weekend showing off some new previews and art coming into the project, as we've now gotten ourselves another artist to work on models! Again, more on this later, as well as an extra preview for tier 2 patrons.

I have Oculus Quest 2 For people who have issues with adding -vr if your Target has these "" and looks like this: "C:\BooF VR Game\BoofVR Alpha Build v0.6\BoofVR_Touch.exe" You add -vr outside those "" thingies, like this: "C:\BooF VR Game\BoofVR Alpha Build v0.6\BoofVR_Touch.exe" -vr Voila~ As for the content, it's lacking so much - but it was worth it seeing it first-hand, because it's exactly what I was looking for - Big Muscular Men with Giant Throbbing Cocks! So thank you for that<3 You should start focusing now on creating some steamy scenes. I mean the characters are amazing and make my mouth water, but there's no point in adding new characters if you can't do anything with them, other than just rubbing them - distract us by create some basic interactions now and add new characters later as well as add more demanding interactions even later on. Give us something to chew on in the meantime :3 Also is there a way to make the wolf guy stop cumming? I mean I love the idea of being showered with an endless stream of cum lol, but my FPS is hurting and I wanna start slowly, but that guy is too excited :P

Got to love MEGA when they throttle you download speed and then when your close to getting the file just "happen" to crash twice in a row. Definitely a good service

How did you get it to work on your quest 2 could we 𝓭𝓶 on telegram or Twitter?
I can’t creat the shortcut even changing the folder name like a commenter said earlier.

okay i think i got it, i ahd to adjust the Start In and Target lines in the Properties tab to make sure they were accurate to the actual folder names.

couldnt get it to boot up in vr, would display fine on my monitor but left my headset totally black. then i tried loading from steamvr and managed to get the audio, but still a black screen with it displayed on my monitor instead. cant rename the file either like you suggested, not sure what the issue is.

Is there a way to limit FPS in future? My graphics card goes crazy with it being uncapped and overheats

v0.6 worked well for me on Quest 2 with AirLink. Intel Core i9-9900K RTX 3090 40 GB RAM DDR4 @ 3200 MHz It is looking great. If looking for feedback, I just wish the characters wouldn't clamp to me when I get too close, or when I make them large (macro!) and I get too close. I have to reset the scene for the character to get unstuck. And feature request :-p if the characters would try to find you when you make them large (above 5x) and to look around they lift their paws in turn to see if you are underneath... maybe as a trigger animation that can be enabled or disabled.

The new v.06 version works well with my Quest 2 other than some slight to moderate performance loss on my system from Boofdad's spurting (EVGA RTX 2070 Super, AMD Ryzer 5 3600, 16GB 3600HZ Memory) I noticed that Boofdad's big jiggly butt is gone now sadly, my needy hands are just clipping through his cheeks instead of rubbing them up compared to v5.1. Only Olie's and Vallent's asses can be interacted with now, was this an oversight or were the physics added to the goods lol? I hope his bum is restored soon or included in the new model, it was one of the sexiest parts of him~
Hi I am also having issues getting it booted into the VR version, im using a Quest 2 so that might be why. Do you know if there is any other fix, I tried renaming the file and changing the shortcut. Sorry to bother

I'll see about making a separate .exe launcher for VR mode specifically, sure - this'll have to be for the next build, I can't get this over for now since I'm not on my working PC. Having a switch button in-game between VR and keyboard isn't very much possible to my knowledge, but we'll look into this still. Again, sorry this didn't work for you in VR mode. We'll try our best at this!

unfortunately im still unable to boot in vr mode ... tried everything under the sun, so i think ill wait until the next update could i make a request tho? have some form or a vr switch button in game or just a dedicated shortcut honesly have no clue why it does not work for me. thanks again for your hard work.

It's imposible to download from Mega due to it's traffic limitation and dropbox link I dead. Can someone upload to other file share sites?

move the files outside the folder "BoofVR Alpha Build v0.6", windows doesn't like "." on the paths sometimes. I had the same problem, moved it out the folder and it worked

Hmmm not sure what I'm doing wrong .... I have steam tried making a shortcut using steam it won't allow me to add -vr at all sates target is not valid. "C:\Users\MyPC\Downloads\Vr Stuff\vr indie games\BoofVR Alpha Build v0.6\BoofVR_Touch.exe" wont allow me to add "-vr" at all tried everyhing i can think of.

Hmm, have you got Steam by chance? Try turning on SteamVR then launch the shortcut - let me know if it suddenly works
