Can the System modify the Law? Because Peter should extend the lying clause to anyone not completely effected by the Law. I think the System and Law can do this since strangers seem to be able to identify Peter can lie without fully aware of his identity.

Yes, he put them into [Inventory] to ensure they didn't have a chance to react. (in particular, the first batch to stop them sending any signals to Dominic, Dominic to stop him doing anything to Cluma.) He couldn't search or strip them while in [Inventory], but he gave them a once-over with [Mana Sight] once they were out. (He was nice enough to let them keep their rings of health regeneration/disease resistance/endurance, else this plot arc would have been somewhat shorter.) As for returning to the ark, that's a tricky one. It's rendered somewhat moot by the fact Peter was panicking, but whether it would be faster is complicated. - First off, faster for who? Peter or Cluma? Spending an hour searching with [Timeless World] is a better option then taking time out to visit the ark if the goal is to leave Cluma and Dominic together for as short a time as possible, even if the ark takes half the time from Peter's perspective. - Second, he has no high-accuracy way of orientating himself. He can note his position with [Clock] and look up Cluma's position in the ark, teleporting between the two places, but [Clock] is quite low resolution and [Mana Sight] doesn't have kilometre level range. And even if it did tell him Cluma was directly east, he doesn't know exactly which direction east is - he'd basically need to go off the sun. - Third, if he could use the ark to work out which direction to go, there's a lot of variables involved in working out if it's actually faster. (Cluma's speed, his speed, the range of [Mana Sight], the time dilation of [Timeless World], how far away from optimal is his search pattern, etc.) Not a maths calculation he could do even if he wasn't panicking.

Huh? When he put them into inventory I tought the idea was to prevent any chance of reaction from them. I would have expected him to at least strip them of anything. And how long does his teleport take? Wouldn't it have been faster to teleport back to the arc and check for the change in coordinates to determine the direction to search for (after it became clear, that they didn't continue east)?
