Yuval Roth

It is fun looking at her now and remembering how she first started out, getting her leg bitten off in one bite by what is probably one of the weakest things in the dungeon, now look at her, beheading spider queens before they can react.

Yshua

I get the explanations about the spider queen but the event still feels awkward. I feel like it would be less awkward to just leave the spider as a dangling loose end, or gave her strike *successfully* as the foxes are in the midst of leaving. So many fox kin have died that the acquisition of a protagonist halo now feels strange.

She was taking revenge on Katie for what was, in her eyes, a betrayal. Katie had helped her reach the fox-kin cavern, then blighted it, and is now removing the survivors. She was expecting Katie to sacrifice the child rather than fight, and didn't expect to die in the altercation. She was working with the fox-kin, so knows what they know; that Katie had suddenly gone soft on them, but not about the antidote. Once Katie did attack, she realised she had no hope of escape, and used her last moments to hurt Katie as much as possible.

Yuval Roth

What did the spider queen hope to achieve here? I can see kidnapping the child and using her kisses to make letting her have it a mercy, as far as she knew, Katie didn't care for the fox kin so she would be left alone, but after it, she acknowledged Katie as much stronger than her and still attacked the child in a way to blatantly antagonize her, why, I doubt she cared about giving Katie a moral lesson, did she find all the other food so disgusting she would prefer to die than stay without the fox kin?

Katie's game-like status is tied to the pocket-world, but the fox-kin don't use that. They won't lose anything from the journey.

just for clarification regarding the last and this chapter: she did explicitly pick Walker of realms | One-with-Void to learn about that stuff and pick Fixed | Inviolable | Stable to not have problems while traversing worlds/the void... but she didn't think about what would happen to the foxkin if they travel with her?

A centimetre in diameter, or smaller where required due to her body curviture, densly packed and covering her entire skin. They're gold in colour, but shine iridescently when they catch the light.

Yuval Roth

How does her scales look, are they big, fine that they look like weird skin, she didn't describe.

She _can_ beat every demon in the arena one on one. The first half of this chapter was her beating the last one for the first time. That doesn't mean she can fight everything in the demon lord's world, obviously, but the arena doesn't offer group matches, and she's obtained every skill evolution achievement she could manage there. She's bought out the shop inventory, too, so there's nothing left for her in demon town. There's more she could have done. Sparing with the demon lord copy is one. Annoying the d20's until they help her out with more resistance training or something would be another. (They may be more cooperative if she informs them she's planning to leave the world and never come back once done.) Maybe learn real magic from the fox-kin, too. It would take years, and they'd certainly be unwilling, but there's no-one left in their camp who can stand up to her so she could easily force the issue now, and with the time dilation she has the time. But she does quite want to get home at some point. As she's said, she isn't a battle maniac, and doesn't want to spend all her time fighting. She knows the demon lord copy is Void tainted while the original isn't, so his Void based abilities won't prepare her for the real thing, and that he doesn't always have her best interests at heart. Guilt-ridden as she is over the fox-kin, she doesn't want to force the d20's or fox-kin into things. Leaving at this point fits in with her personality.

The thing with the spider felt rather forced and unnecessary. Also, why is she leaving already? It seems an incredibly impulsive and not well thought-out decision. I get that she has to leave at some point, but doing so now is just dumb. She can't even successfully kill all the demon challengers one on one, let alone doing so while being attacked by multiple demons at once, which will undoubtedly happen when she goes to attack the real demon lord. And then there's the fact that as far as I can tell, she didn't even ask advise from the dragon lord copy, or ask to train with her. Both of which would be incredibly valuable

Vorquel

And in a not at all surprising twist, the sadistic spider queen is an evil monster.
