Dev Blog #118 - Refocusing

I'm finally getting back into the groove of being the good kind of busy, but that's not to say there weren't some bumps along the way. Even still, this will be the last devblog before the next update! Today's gonna be a short one so let's jump right in!
Update 4.0.0 On The Horizon
No sense burying the lead here - Update 4.0.0 will release to backers next Thursday, January 28th, with the public release to follow soon after. This update will include a brand new repeatable interactive scene with Sophie, new events with Diana and Ms. Ann, new story events leading about halfway through November, and partial implementation of the new texting system!
Unfortunately, due to the veritable shitshow that was the back half of 2020, development for Chapter 4 got severely derailed. As such, the update set to release a week from now won't contain all originally planned content for Update 4.0. Rather, this update will focus on adding a few exciting new scenes as well as addressing some consistency issues brought about from Dakota's recent update. From here, development will proceed (hopefully) as normal, with new content being added regularly.
Full release notes will be made available next week, and a comprehensive devblog outlining Update 4.1 will be dropping early February.
I'm terribly sorry for how the last couple months of development have gone, and I can't thank you all enough for bearing with me. I have a good feeling that things are finally going to start returning to some semblance of normalcy for me, which means development of The Company as well. I can't wait for everyone to see the new content soon! As always, thank you all for your continued feedback and support, and stay safe!

Don't worry about being late. Better delayed and good, than early and broken. We've all gotten a good reminder of that thanks to Cyberpunk2077 I feel.

As always we remind you that we find you to be more important than the game. Take your time and take care of yourself first and foremost. 2020 was hell for everyone, delays were expected. What you have been doing and releasing goes beyond our expectations, and we look forward to what you will release next.
