5.2 - Dakota Rising

I've been spending the last few days supporting the initial 5.2 release, squashing a variety of bugs and making minor adjustments as needed. I'm happy to say that we're at a point where I've now moved on to actually moving forward with content, following the roadmap posted last week.
Specifically, that means updated Dakota content is en route!
Pre-alpha level patrons will start to see development builds dropping soon, if they haven't already. Initially, you'll see all of her existing content updated for love/lust adjustments, followed by new interactive events. All other patrons will receive the completed version of this build as soon as it's done!
Illusion of Choice
So, I've mulling a conundrum lately, and it has to do with the perceived amount of content in the game.
There is... a lot of content in the game right now, but after months of playing through the same condensed story over and over again, it becomes really easy for people to get bored. I'm definitely to blame for this, as it's a result for my need to solidify the game's foundation before progressing it in other, meaningful ways.
What it ultimately comes down to, is that while outwardly expanding the existing content is great, I think it's time to prioritize actual story progression. Now, I thought about making an executive decision here, but in the interest of fun and fairness I've decided to keep the content vote, with one major adjustment:
The 5.4 character vote will include Ms Dee on the list.
This comes with some major implications. Not only will Sophie's Chapter 1 and 2 content be expanded, including new interactions, events and serum dosage opportunities, but it will also push the game into Chapter 3 and beyond. Naturally, this also means a longer, more involved development cycle, but there would be some relevant progress made as a result!
Of course, if she doesn't take the win then I'll proceed as normal. All the content will be built eventually, so I'm still going to leave it up to the majority to decide the direction of the next major update!
Now Let's Talk About You
Art preview time! You've met Sophie, Ava, Penny and Dakota, and I'm happy to say that work on Diana, Tasha, John and Julia is running smoothly. One character I have yet to properly introduce, however, is you!

Moving into 2D art, you'll be seeing a lot more of yourself. RD did, I think, a fantastic job making the male and female versions of the MC looking that they could very well be gender swaps of the same person, which in a game about transformation is the entire point! This is driven home all the more after adding a little color to the mix...

...Bringing us here! The little streak of blonde helps add some identity and familiarity as the players make their journey across the gender spectrum.
Now, some considerations did have to be made when creating the MC, specifically in the way they're built. This is, of course, because of the clothing system. One of the greatest values added in being able to see your character is being able to see wardrobe changes adjusted dynamically! Go to your room and change into a T-shirt, skirt and leggings, and that's what your character will actually be wearing in the game!
This also adds a lot more agency to things like crossdressing, and even reflects things like makeup. The mirror will also show you a larger full view of your character.
Exciting times, to be sure. Once the rest of the cast has been added to the game we'll be working on Sissy, Trans, Shemale and Bimbo states for the MC, as well as the rest of the clothing including toys and chastity!
Also be advised that character height is still something we're tweaking.
Approaching a Milestone
I don't know what celestial alignment occurred over the last few days, but we now find ourselves rapidly approaching the 1,000 patron mark! I can't possibly thank you all enough for all your support, but I thought it would be nice to do something fun to celebrate if we actually hit a thousand!
A have a couple things in mind. The first being a commission made just for the occasion and distributed to all of you. I was also thinking about something like a video AMA if that's something enough people are interested in.

I have toyed with the MCS-X and I will admit to a certain turn on to the message "Dakota has been impregnated by dogs," but I do miss the fact there is no verbal interaction at all, especially in afternoon meetings where the MC must go to his/her room and masturbate, sleep, or play a game until another option arises with Mom and Dakota in the evening. As a result, I have decided to not pursue the puppy Dakota and I gave up on porn start Dakota a long time ago, because her absence leaves too big a gap on weekends. I am looking forward to further developments with Ava's MCS-X, especially the possibility of visiting Mom in the afternoons at work, but for now, I am experimenting with other ways to play and not paly the MC.
Thanks for the reply, I completely understand. Have you thought of perhaps guest writers for fetishes you're not so familiar with, similar to Corruption of champions etc.

I generally try to be as inclusive as possible, but there's some fetishes I really can't write because I just can't really get into it. I have nothing against foot fetishes, but it's not something I can really write, so, I wouldn't expect to see it in this game, at least in any major capacity.
Any plans on adding any foot fetish content?
Agree, I think the latest plot should belongs to MCS-X, not to MCS-3. The current plot makes me feel no difference between MCS-X and MCS-3. Hope that the MCS-3 plot is not a formal version.

MCS-X is supposed to be a sort of trigger for an NPCs "bad end". It's totally optional. Ava's is kind of bleh in my opinion and with Dakota you're either removing her from the game entirely or removing her dialogue. I don't use MCS-X, I kind of view it as a way to get rid of unwanted NPCs. I'm thinking of John when I say that..
am enjoying this game very much but am disappointed in the direction that Dakota is going, it is fine she is a porn star but the player misses out on time with Dakota, this option for me for is by far better than the alternative, that being said i am still playing the game

More story progression would be my preference, but if it ends up being character development, I won't complain.
I'm all kinds of ready to see what chapter 3 and beyond have in store. Getting the game to a satisfying ending is better than all the side content stuff, me thinks. Not that I don't love all the side content. :)
Honestly, I'm ready to have more progression, so I can hopefully have a snugglebuddy.
Every time I do a play through, each update, and I get to the end of the current content I always get excited for what will happen next. Just imagining where it could go from the end of chapter 2 leads to a lot of possibilities.

I have actually enjoyed each progression, no matter how minor, for the characters, but I will say I am ready for some story progression as well. I keep looking at that Chapter 3 banner and keep saying "what next?" or "what if? " Great update by the way. I truly appreciate how you keep us in the loop.

Oh, then yes, that was always the plan. The wardrobe system as it is is just the base "functional" version. I plan to expand clothing options, add nightwear, and expand the actual functionality of the clothing. Think smutty set bonuses.

Like more stuff. More clothes, dresses that don't require skirts. Lingerie for getting Ava all worked up. The art assets might be a pain though. I may have just answered my own question.

I think we are due for a bit of story progression and I'm glad that you see it that way too. Anyways, the game is fantastic and any update is really appreciated. The frequency of your updates is top-notch too, so if the story progression does not win the vote, I'm confident we will get there quick enough anyways. Thank you.

I'm starting to think that the longer development cycle is not such a bad idea. Its really hard to get bored with this game but after a few small step updates this can happen. Maybe skip a few steps and give us a big part of the stairs but taking a longer time to make? :P Hmnm For example if you make the stamina system only for Dakota in the next release it might be a bit to small of a change but if you add more characters to the mix and prolong the release then the whole balancing of stamina between different characters itself will force people to play the game longer and be more interesting.
