I am VERY concerned for their safety, especially when they realize that the only thing that has stayed the same is my appearance. Not even joking, someone from either 3rd grade or earlier recognized me at least 5 years later. He recognized me, but I didn't recognize him. I went from a nice child to someone who is... possibly a menace to society, to someone who is a nice guy AND could have an entire city burning with his family within 1 week. I should be more concerned about how they FOUND me. When they see me and ask for the smile that brought them join, I'll give it and their reaction will be very different. My smile once brought joy. It now brings genuine fear to over a hundred people. My entire school feared me, but that was not my intention. They breathed a sigh of relief when the pandemic hit, and they felt safe from me. One of my classmates told me that they thought I was going to shoot up the school, but I had a very rough upbringing. I have managed to get better, but therapy didn't help.
