Apnea for Into the Wild
🕑 Added 2019-02-10 02:00:01 +0000 UTCDown by the creak we are in the depths of winter, but still the Autumn colors cling to the shore. Each storm brings the water up 5 or 6 feet further. The creak becomes a stream, and then a river. I can see the places I know to be ankle deep in calmer times roaring 7 feet higher than they were before the storms rolled through. Our nature is always changing, growing, receding.
Apnea sits on the bank in front of me where in a days time the water will roar. I remember the first time we walked into her backyard and talked about the stars late at night 9 years ago. Deep in the Ozarks we might as well have been in Utah staring into a sky so dappled with pin points it was disorienting. We loved nature then as we love it now. Its amazing how much our worlds have moved, and still we find the time to get out, explore, let our moments linger when we can.
