Paige Michelle for The Jungle
🕑 Added 2016-06-27 17:50:32 +0000 UTC I think that The Jungle sort of fell by the wayside this trip. I think that is mostly because my favorite lens to shoot the series with died on day 1 and I didn't get it back from Sigma repair services until the day before I flew out to Australia. That Sigma 85mm F1.4 takes lovely photos, but from what I can tell the AF Motor on it is kind of a piece of shit. Twice now we've dealt with it failing.But that isn't really the point of this post!
I met Paige through instagram and she was nice enough to come down to Abalone Cove to shoot with me for The Jungle. Since my 85mm was out of service I decided to try out the Sigma 50mm that I had picked up. We hiked back into a canyon to escape the intense light of the day and shoot in some nice soft shade. I love the light in canyons especially when I'm out in the South West because else wise shoot planning revolves mostly around the golden hour or crossing my fingers and hoping for clouds, and really they don't come all that often.
Once we found the good light shooting with Paige was a breeze. I was blown away by her ability to style herself. Hair, Makeup, Clothing it was all perfect for The Jungle. We bounced around a little experimenting with a few different outfits, and dodging the harsh noon sun where we could.
I love how these turned out, and a small part of me regrets not managing to do any other shoots for The Jungle this trip, but I think as a tear through all the editing I have in front of me for you guys you will see that I managed to make a ton of beautiful work for my series old and new!
