Nicole Vaunt in Coloroado for Into The Wild
🕑 Added 2015-05-12 21:47:22 +0000 UTC We left the Mid-West a few days ago for the Colorado Rocky's. As we went up in altitude unexpectedly spring turned to winter at the trail head to our planned location in Rocky Mountain National Park. Not willing to give up, we threw on the cold weather gear and trudged up the mountain.As we hiked up further and further a light rain turned into a heavy snow, and we quickly realized that if we were going to shoot it was going to need to be very short, and very fast. We found a beautiful rock in a stand of trees on the edge of Nymph Lake tried a few poses out and then Nicole stripped down.There is a little video in this dropbox folder that will give an idea of what we were dealing with.On our way out of the park we stopped to shoot in a boulder field we had scouted on the way down. We had an amazing cloudy sky free of rain as we got close to it, so I knew we had the light to get some fantastic shots. I shot all of these photos with my 17-40mm F4L. I love using the wide lens in outdoor nude situations.Three days later we found ourselves in Colorado Springs with Damsel on our way to Paradise Cove for some shooting. Another day of clouds in the mountains...another perfect day for outdoor nudes. After shooting with Damsel for a bit, I came around the corner to what must have been our 10th beautiful spot, so we decided to shoot Nicole there a little bit as well. Hope you had hot rum toddies om warm mulled wine to warm Vaunt up when you were done. I particularly liked the last photo of her standing on the rock overlooking the snow field. Like a queen or goddess surveying her domain.
