Indefinite Hiatus

I’m writing today to let you know that I’m putting this Patreon page on an indefinite hiatus*. How long? I can’t say for certain; it may be one month, or it may be longer as I take the time I need to find my creative footing again.
As I have indicated in previous posts here, I’ve been wrestling with a lack of motivation for some time. It’s not the work itself, nor burnout, but rather a change in the kind of stories I’m drawn to write and the way I’m compelled to create them. This change hasn’t always aligned with what my audience has come to expect, which has added to the struggle.
I have several times previously discussed Sudowrite, an AI-assisted tool that I’ve found to be a powerful support in tackling new ideas and styles. To me, Sudowrite doesn’t replace a writer's creativity or craftsmanship, but amplifies it. Used alone and without curation, the quality is quite low. Using this tool is still a collaborative process where I guide the narrative, shape the nuances, and polish the results. It isn’t a shortcut but a means to broaden my ability to explore more — and perhaps bolder — stories with you all.
When I return, it’s likely that I’ll be using Sudowrite more regularly in my process and taking the extra time necessary to curate its output carefully, which I have not always done in the past. I’m dedicated to refining this approach to ensure it maintains, or even elevates, the quality you’ve come to expect from me. For those who may feel uncertain about this direction, I completely understand. But if you’re open to it, I believe this is the right path for my creative growth.
I sincerely thank you all for your support over the last two years. This journey wouldn’t be the same without your support, and I hope we’ll continue to share in the stories we love, in new ways, sometime soon.
*I'm not disabling the Patreon page, but I will be suspending payments each month, indefinitely.
