What's coming in version 0.5.9.2 of Golden Coast Saga? And what's next?
🕑 Added 2025-04-21 21:31:24 +0000 UTCSo, there have been some changes since my last big update post. Version 0.5.9 ended up being split into two parts - 0.5.9.1 and 0.5.9.2. The first one is already out and includes the beginning of Mia's storyline, along with a small piece of the main story. The second one - 0.5.9.2 - is currently in the works. Even though I thought you'd want to see more of Mia after her coffee-themed storyline, the recent poll showed otherwise - you picked Hailey. So the upcoming update will be all about the sassy wolf girl!
Honestly, I'm really happy with that result. Hailey's storyline is one of the most well-planned ones I've written so far - unlike Mia's, which is still being fleshed out. If the lynx had won, I would've had to hustle! 😅 I actually wanted to include a spicy scene with Hailey back in version 0.5.7, but I just didn't have enough time or energy back then - that update was already huge. But in hindsight, putting that content on hold was probably for the best - I've had time to make it even better
Here's a tiny bit of a spoiler with Hailey - just to whet your appetite 😏
Now, about version 0.6 - this one's a big deal. I started preparing for it around six months ago, and it will include some major technical improvements
The biggest one is the Skill System for the main character. There'll be two main types of skills - Intellectual and Physical. Since our MC is a college student, mental skills will play a big role and include categories like Humanities, Tech, and Arts. There'll also be a Communication skill - super useful not only for college content but for the whole game in general (because yeah… knowing how to talk to girls matters, you know?) Physical skills - Strength and Dexterity - will affect the MC's fitness and abilities. Later on, I'm planning to add a College Sports Field location and expand the college storyline with a proper sports career path. I think a lot of Golden Coast Saga fans will love that - sports were definitely something the game was missing!
Another important thing is routing for mini-games. Now, how well you perform in stuff like book scanning or photography will actually affect the story. For example, if you do really well in the photo mini-game with Kylie and Miley, you'll be able to earn hearts with them in certain storylines
And finally, a small but nice technical addition - achievements. Nothing huge or game-changing, just a fun little extra for those who like collecting stuff
As for the new story content you'll see in 0.6 - let's keep that a surprise for now! 😉 But I can tease that there will be entirely new storylines that haven't been in the game before. One of them will be closely tied to the photography mini-game (and no, don't say you already guessed it's gonna be related to the MC's business and Oliver... okay, okay, no more hints!)
