I am still working on the character model for Minato, his character will be edited in to these pictures, but I do have the first chapter of the story fully done! It will be releasing over the course of the next week or two, and be edited images that include excerpts of the first chapter of this story, but here on Patreon, you wont need to wait for the rollout! Here is the full first chapter of the story:
The Mad, Shy Scientist
Chapter 1
Pt.1 - Rylenne Duck, nicknamed Ducky, has always been extremely smart, getting straight A’s, excelling in science fairs, and doing everything she can to learn about cutting edge technology, and push beyond their limits. She has always been kind, and pretty shy, getting butterflies before talking to anyone. Ducky has always had a fascination for shrinking, giants, growing, and anything involving size difference, vowing someday to make it a real possibility, but it has also always been an unachievable goal. That is, until her 26th birthday. These days Ducky isn't so shy, her smarts turned into an ego, an ego which overcame almost any anxieties, but she still is an introvert, however a confident one, filled with determination. She spends every night where she works all throughout the day, Evoltech, sitting in the lab, working on her own personal projects, and you can already guess what her most special project was. On her 26th birthday, she finally perfected her shrinking serum. It could shrink someone potentially all the way down to 0.0001 nanometers, and grow them all the way back to normal size, theoretically. Rylenne just loved the idea of having a collection of tinies, all who will do whatever she says, whether they are willing or not, she just loves the fantasy of being in absolute control of them. Rylenne has had her dart gun for a while now, anticipating the day she would put the serum into a tiny dart, and shrink someone with it. Now, through fate, a divine gift she assumes, the day has come, and it is just perfect that it so happens to be her birthday.
Part 2 - Rylenne however gets to her first bump in the road, the first obstacle that makes a feeling she has stuffed down and hoped would never return finally rise up once more: anxiety. She thinks about who she should shrink, and how she should do it, and the pros and cons of each, and potential consequences. She does not have a significant other who she could shrink, even if she did she imagines they probably would not be on board with everything, and there is nobody she knows who would be willing to just shrink for her, she assumes nobody would just be on board and willing to do the things she wants anyways. Ideally, she would want to shrink someone permanently, to keep in her collection forever, but finding someone who would willingly want that seems impossible, something she has thought a lot about, and now comes to the conclusion that to get what she wants, she is going to have to just shrink someone, whether they like it or not. “They will just have to get used to it” she thinks to herself, but at the same time these thoughts bring anxiety, nervousness, but she knows she did not do all this work for nothing. She starts to think about who she should shrink. “The best option, would probably be to shrink someone not notable of course, someone who would not be noticed missing, not as big of a deal, hmm. Maybe like a intern here..” She thinks, pondering the options and trying to remember all the different interns that currency work at Evoltech, the lab she works at. Eventually she remembers a perfect intern, a relatively new one, Minato. She has only met him once, but she knows he works the overnight shift, and moved here from Japan alone, so he might be the best candidate.
Rylenne then wonders how she should actually.. do the shrinking. She could either lie and tell him it is part of an experiment for a new Evoltech invention, and that he was selected to help do testing, then just not grow him back, or she could just sneak up behind him and shrink him, and get it over with. She feels like just sneaking up and doing it is cruel, but if she said it was for an experiment for a new invention, which technically is not too much of a lie. Hopefully, people would just assume he quit. Then if she changed her mind after shrinking him, she could grow him back, and since he thought he was part of an official test, he would not snitch on her. She decides to go with that plan, and starts to get a syringe with the shrinking serum ready. How much she should start with is a tough decision though, but she eventually settles on shrinking Minato to a quarter of an inch, a good starting point. After a few minutes, everything is ready to go, and she leaves the lab to go find Minato, who is probably in the data center, organizing files.
Part 3 - “I swear to god, every time I get done with one folder, 30 fucking more pop up.” Minato says frustratingly as he sorts through documents. His shift started at 9pm, it is now almost 1am, and he is extremely tired, ever since he moved here, he has been working nonstop, and sorting files is the last thing he wants to do right now. “I’m supposed to be a research assistant, to learn about shit, do science, cutting edge stuff, not this.” He says, although there is nobody else in the room, he just felt like getting it off his chest, however he would not be alone in the room for long. After another minute of sorting, he suddenly hears a female voice behind him. “Watcha got there?” She says, startling Minato a bit, he turns around and sees that it’s Rylenne. “Oh, hi Miss Duck. Just sorting files. Having a… great time.. Honestly. Wait I thought you guys go home at 8? Why are you still here?” Minato inquires. “Well Minato, I have good news. You have been selected to test out one of our new inventions! I’ve been staying late to get it ready for testing, and tonight is finally the night!” Rylenne says excitedly. “Me? I was picked? Oh wow, that’s awesome! Finally! I’ve been stuck sorting papers for weeks, finally I get to do something interesting. What’s the new invention?” He responds. “It’s a shrinking serum, we finally figured it out, it turns out it’s actually possible, just took a lot of time, messing with the calculations, but it is ready to test.” Rylenne explains. “Shrinking.. Like the Honey I Shrunk the Kids movie? That kinda shrinking? Damn, that’s crazy, yeah I thought that was just straight up impossible.. So.. im guessing I am going to be the one shrinking? How safe is it? How sma-” Minato gets cut off by Rylenne and says “Yeah, like the movie, don’t worry, it’ll be fine. Let's head to the lab, we do not have too much time, everyone is supposed to be out by 4am, for the cleaning crew or whatever. Come come.” She says with a hint of authority, practically commanding him, a bit of foreshadowing, she thinks to herself, since soon he will have no choice but to follow any command. Even though she technically is his boss, Rylenne, due to her smarts and ego, talks to almost anyone this way, with a hint of condescendance, even if she does not mean to, though sometimes it’s warranted, given she is one of the wisest scientists at the company.
Minato follows Rylenne out of the data room, his exhaustion momentarily replaced with a flicker of curiosity and excitement. Finally, something interesting, he thinks, trailing behind her as they wind through the dimly lit halls of Evoltech. Rylenne’s steps are quick, purposeful, her brown coat swishing slightly with each stride. She’s buzzing with anticipation, though she keeps her face composed, masking the thrill bubbling inside her. This is it—her birthday gift to herself, her dream coming to life. Meanwhile, Minato, oblivious, just hopes this’ll be quick so he can clock out and crash. They reach the lab, a sprawling room filled with gleaming equipment, humming machines, and shelves lined with vials and beakers. The air smells faintly of antiseptic and ozone. Rylenne gestures to a metal stool near a workbench cluttered with papers and a syringe glinting under the fluorescent lights. “Sit there,” she says, her tone clipped but laced with that same commanding edge. Minato hesitates for a split second, then shrugs and plops down, rubbing his tired eyes. “So, uh, how’s this work? You just… jab me with it?” he asks, eyeing the syringe as Rylenne picks it up, her fingers steady despite the tremor of excitement she feels. “Pretty much,” she replies. “It’s simple. One quick injection, and you’ll shrink down to a quarter of an inch. Perfectly safe, perfectly reversible. I’ve run the numbers a hundred times.” She doesn’t mention that this is the first human test—or that the “reversible” part is still theoretical. She’s confident, though. Mostly. Minato nods, rolling up his sleeve. “Alright, cool. Let’s get it over with.” He’s too tired to question it further, and honestly, the idea of shrinking sounds kind of dope. Like something out of a sci-fi flick. He doesn’t notice the gleam in Rylenne’s eyes as she steps closer, syringe in hand.
Part 4 - The needle pricks his arm, a sharp pinch, and he winces slightly. “Ow, jeez—how long does it take to—” His words cut off as a strange sensation washes over him, like his whole body is being squeezed inward. The room tilts, the edges blurring, and suddenly the stool beneath him feels impossibly vast. His clothes don’t follow suit—they stay normal-sized, pooling around him in a heap as he dwindles, smaller and smaller, until he’s standing bare and bewildered on the cold lab floor, a mere centimeter tall. Not a quarter of an inch—Rylenne’s calculations were off, just a hair, but enough to throw everything askew.
He’s tiny, naked, and staring up at a world that’s suddenly colossal. The workbench towers like a skyscraper, and Rylenne, stands incredibly tall, like multiple skyscrapers stacked on top of eachother, she’s a true giantess now, her face looming overhead, her eyes wide with a mix of surprise and delight. Minato’s heart hammers in his chest. This isn’t right, he has a bad feeling about this all of a sudden. He opens his mouth to shout, but his voice is a pitiful squeak, lost in the vastness of the lab. Rylenne can’t hear him, she doesn’t even try. She’s too busy staring, her lips curling into a grin.
“Whoops,” she says, her voice booming, vibrating through the floor. “Looks like you’re a bit smaller than planned. One centimeter, maybe? Oh well, close enough.” She leans down, her breath a warm gust that nearly knocks him over. “I was planning on being able to hear you, but since your a teeny weeny and centimeter sized now, you're a bit too small for that.” Her voice booms as her monumental form gets closer to Minato. “I have researched this very thing before, I feared it would happen, you know, your vocal chords are about 100 times smaller than a normal human’s now. The volume and pitch of their voice depend on the size and vibration of those vocal cords. Smaller cords vibrate faster, producing a much higher-pitched sound, in the ultrasonic range above 20,000 Hz, beyond human hearing, which is typically 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. But it’s okay, I won’t be needing to hear you anytime soon. Now, time for some tests.” Minato stumbles back, panic rising. Tests? What the hell is she talking about? He waves his arms, yelling as loud as he can. “Hey! Stop! This isn’t funny!” he screams, but it’s useless. She doesn’t hear a thing. Instead, she reaches down with a pair of tweezers, plucking him up between the metal prongs. He flails, his bare skin prickling against the cold grip, but she just giggles softly, holding him up to her face. “Let’s see how you handle a little obstacle course,” she says, setting him down on the workbench. She nudges a pencil toward him, the eraser end a massive boulder in his path. “Go on, climb over it. For science.” Her tone is playful, but there’s a glint in her eye that makes Minato’s stomach twist. This isn’t a test. There’s no clipboard, no other scientists, no protocol. It’s just her, messing with him.
Part 5 - He tries to run instead, darting toward the edge of the table, his tiny legs pumping. Fear claws at him, he’s naked, exposed, and she’s treating him like a toy. Rylenne gasps, mock-offended. “Oh, no you don’t!” Her finger swoops down, blocking his path, and he slams into it, tumbling backward. She scoops him up again, this time in her palm, her skin warm and overwhelming. “You’re a feisty little guy, huh? Guess I’ll just have to keep you close and put you away for now, and we will try again later..” Minato’s screaming, but it’s pointless. She doesn’t hear, doesn’t care. She opens her purse, a cavernous black void, and drops him inside, his tiny body landing on a crumpled tissue. The zipper shuts with a deafening rasp, plunging him into darkness. He hears her muffled voice as she slings the bag over her shoulder. “Time to head home, baby. Happy birthday to me.” The purse sways as she walks, jostling him against lipsticks and keys. Minato’s mind races, he’s trapped, shrunk, and this psycho is taking him home like some pet. This isn’t an experiment; it’s a kidnapping. He claws at the fabric, searching for a way out, but it’s hopeless. He’s too small, too weak. Outside, Rylenne strides toward the exit, her ego still buzzing, until a pang of something else creeps in. Guilt. She slows, glancing at her purse. What is she doing? She wanted a tiny, sure, but seeing Minato’s terror, she hadn’t planned on that. She’d pictured obedience, maybe even gratitude, not this. Besides that, what if someone notices he is missing, and reports it? There is probably evidence that she was there with him in the building, they were the only two there, unless the cameras were off, but they probably are not. Her mind spirals, anxiety taking over, thinking of every possibility, the chances that she gets caught and arrested for kidnapping are very, very high. Her stomach churns. This isn’t fun anymore.
Before she reaches the door, she turns on her heel, muttering, “Okay, okay, fine.” Back in the lab, she fishes Minato out, setting him on the workbench again. He’s trembling, glaring up at her with tiny, furious eyes she can barely see. She grabs the growth serum, thankfully prepped, and fills another syringe. “Look, I screwed up,” she says, her voice softer now. “I’ll fix it. Grow you back. But you can’t tell anyone, okay? I’ll give you a thousand bucks to keep quiet. Deal?” Minato doesn’t answer—he can’t—but he nods, desperate to be normal again. She grabs the syringe and hovers it over Minato, releasing a few drops of the serum, which look like a huge waterfall from his perspective, onto Minato, and in seconds, he’s surging upward, his body stretching and expanding until he’s full-sized, sprawled naked on the floor amid his oversized clothes. He scrambles to cover himself, face red with rage and humiliation. “Never talk to me again,” he spits, yanking his shirt on. “Ever.” He doesn’t wait for her response, just grabs the wad of cash she tosses his way and storms out, back to the data room, slamming the door behind him. Rylenne stands there, alone in the lab, her triumph soured. She sighs, tucking the syringe away. “Fuck.. I screwed it up.. On my fucking birthday of all days. What the hell am I going to do now?” She says, furious at herself, pacing around the lab. As she lectures and reprimands herself within her mind, her eyes gaze upon a research report that was left out by a colleague, one that piqued her curiosity. The research report is about cloning, and after skimming through it, she learns that it is indeed possible, and the majority of the work is already done, giving her a genius idea, a way to get a collection of her very own tinies, without having to shrink and kidnap anyone..
