Greetings Adventurers!
I'm pretty excited about this release! This idea was brought on by one of the Patrons in our community and I had a blast bringing it to life. I wanted to do it some justice though, so I created 3 different levels to this fortress and combined my usual weekly free map into this one so everyone gets a little part of the action here. So here's to the next map of our monthly theme of Home Bases/Guild Halls!
The base map (free map) is essentially the flight deck for this sky fortress. It has 3 landing ports and is equipped with 6 state of the art cannons for defensive measures. The deck has ample room for battles or intense interactions and also comes equipped with a registration area for all docked ships, along with a small bar where food/drinks can be purchased during a layover. On the bottom side of the map are two shops where crew members can purchase things from spare parts, cannon ammo, or whatever else your ship may need to be refitted with. So if you ever wanted to make port without the need to land your airship, this is the map for you.
The Barbarian tier will be getting a map of the below deck. This is where the home base/guild hall theme comes into play as it is fully equipped with a meeting room, storage room, bedrooms, a lounge area, and a large dining hall. You can additionally see the use of electronic lighting throughout the hallways that help give it an air vehicle type of feel. On the south end of the map, you'll see a large door that is usually available to crew members only. It opens up to a large set of stairs leading down into the engine room.
The Death Knight tier gets access to the engine room which I had a ton of fun making. This room has a pathway built entirely out of darkened stained glass so you can see beneath your footsteps at the workings down below, so don't fall down there! In the center, you'll see another large propeller that works 2 fold, helping to keep the fortress afloat, and cooling the inner workings of this room. The room is also equipped with a main console and access to batteries and radiator machines. In the center is the heart of the fortress. I wanted to really combine the use of engineering, science, and magic to create the essence of what makes this fortress special! This heart is brought to life by magic crystals that feed power into the main system drive which then uses science to burn that power into fuel and energy. This floor is perfect for any mission that may consist of an emergency repair or sabotage scenario!
The Necromancer and Legend tiers will be getting a ring crafted by the artist César Ayala and authored by myself. The Necromancer tier will be getting the ring artwork by itself with a transparent background while the Legend tier will be getting the "Augmenting Ring of Resistance." This ring is considered a legendary ring and is all ready for use in an upcoming D&D session as you see fit. Additionally, the Legend tier will be receiving this item in digital card files.
I hope you all enjoy this map and run some interesting scenarios for your players, especially if you're in the Eberron campaign setting! As always, any ideas/suggestions/feedback are welcomed in our Discord Channel, so until next week, may you all pass your stealth rolls!
