The Day the World Tilted

The lights blazed down, catching on the deep blue and red of Superman’s suit… and on the striking figure sitting across from him.
It was Lois Lane—only this wasn’t the Lois the world knew.
She wore a modified Superwoman suit that hugged her like liquid fabric, its deep blue stretched over shoulders and arms that no longer looked like those of an investigative reporter. They were swollen with striated muscle, each fiber shifting under her skin as she flexed her fingers. Her cape draped down her back, but her other accessory drew the crowd’s eyes—an emerald-green armband made of an unknown crystalline plastic. It glowed faintly, like it was feeding her.
Superman’s voice was low but incredulous.
Superman: "Lois… you can’t have muscles like that. It’s not possible."
Lois: (smiling, leaning forward) "Clark… you’ve been the strongest for too long. I just decided I wanted a change."
She placed her right elbow on the padded surface, her forearm thick as a tree limb, veins standing out like rivers. Her fingers beckoned.
Lois: "Arm wrestle me."
Superman hesitated. His eyes narrowed. “You know I could hurt you.”
Lois laughed—a rich, confident laugh that carried through the stadium.
Lois: "You think you could."
They gripped hands. Her palm was shockingly solid, her fingers almost crushing his. The referee counted down.
Three… two… one—
The table jolted. Superman’s arm was driven halfway down in a single, sudden motion. His eyes widened. He braced, muscles bulging under his suit, forearm trembling. But Lois didn’t even look strained. She was watching his face, smiling faintly, biceps swelling like sculpted granite, the deep peak of her muscle pressing against her forearm.
Superman: "Lois… what—"
Lois: "Shhh… enjoy the view."
She pushed again. His wrist bent back. The crowd gasped. Superman’s jaw clenched, every muscle in his body fighting, but it was like pushing against a mountain.
With a sharp thud, his hand hit the pad.
The stadium erupted. The cameras flashed.
Lois stood, raising her arm in victory, the bicep exploding into a mountainous peak under the lights. Superman sat stunned, his hand still tingling from her grip.
Reporters swarmed her. She waved them closer, sweat glistening over her carved physique.
Lois: "It wasn’t difficult," she said into the microphones, her voice dripping with casual superiority. "He’s not as strong as he likes to think. Not anymore."
She flexed her arm slowly, deliberately. The triceps swelled into a perfect horseshoe, the crowd audibly gasping at the sheer density.
Lois: "The world’s most powerful being?" She glanced at Superman and smirked. "You’re looking at her."
Superman looked up at her from his seat—an angle he had never taken with anyone before—and for the first time, he understood the truth: the balance of power had shifted forever.
