[Frog] Chapter 113: The Green Goblin's Screams
🕑 Added 2024-10-26 09:34:00 +0000 UTCOn the couch, Gwen hugged her Pikachu, gazing at Alan with a look of grievance.
Meanwhile, Alan was focused on the information Red Queen had displayed on the computer about the new suit. After reviewing it for a while, he softly said to Gwen, "By tomorrow morning, your new suit should be ready."
"Hmph!" Gwen turned her head away and let out a huff after hearing Alan's words.
Seeing Gwen’s reaction, Alan smiled. She was still angry about the teasing earlier.
"Gwen..." Alan's voice called out. Gwen, with her head turned away, suddenly felt like Alan was much closer. Instinctively, she turned back, only to find herself face-to-face with him, their eyes meeting at an extremely close distance.
Looking into Alan’s eyes from so close, Gwen’s heartbeat quickened. Feeling a bit nervous, she stammered, "A-Alan, why are you so close?"
Alan gave a faint smile, reaching out to cover Pikachu's eyes with one hand.
"Pika... Pika..." Pikachu protested, waving its little arms, but it was to no avail.
In the next moment, Alan leaned in and kissed Gwen on the lips.
"Mmm..."
Caught off guard, Gwen instinctively let out a soft hum. After a moment, Alan slowly pulled back and gently asked, "Still mad?"
Gwen’s face turned bright red, and after licking her lips, she nodded slightly with a soft "Mmm." Unconsciously, she tightened her grip on Pikachu.
Alan let go of Pikachu’s eyes, and the confused Pikachu, unaware of what had just happened, let out a puzzled "Pika?"
Gwen, still blushing, couldn't help but savor the feeling of the kiss—it wasn’t bad at all. Maybe... she could kiss Alan again...
Gathering her courage, Gwen turned to Alan and said, "Alan..."
Alan smiled at her. "What is it?"
Just as Gwen, face flushed, was about to ask if they could kiss again, Red Queen’s voice suddenly came from the computer.
"Master, Miss Gwen."
"The NYPD is under attack. Miss Anna and Mr. George are confronting the attacker."
Alan frowned, and Gwen’s expression also changed as both of them turned their attention to the computer screen.
On the screen, Norman, riding his glider, politely bowed toward Anna and George. But right after, he pulled a pumpkin bomb from his pouch and tossed it toward them. The bomb emitted a beeping sound as it descended.
Seeing this, George wasted no time. He grabbed Anna and dashed back into the police station.
The next moment, the pumpkin bomb hit the ground, bounced a few times, and exploded like a grenade.
Flames surged on the screen, and the footage abruptly ended, likely due to the explosion destroying the surrounding cameras.
Alan frowned as he watched. So, the Green Goblin had made his move.
Seeing this, Gwen immediately jumped up from the couch, saying nothing as she sprinted toward the balcony. As she ran, her clothes fell away, revealing her Spider suit underneath.
With a leap, Gwen swung away on her web, heading rapidly toward the NYPD.
Alan closed his laptop and looked at Pikachu. "Pikachu, you stay here and guard the place."
"If anyone you don't recognize shows up, zap them unconscious!"
"I’m going to check on things."
Gwen hadn’t yet switched to her explosion-resistant suit, so she might be at a disadvantage against the Green Goblin.
Pikachu understood the seriousness of the situation and gave Alan a serious response, "Pika!"
Alan stood up from the couch, and with each step he took, his Emperor Armor began to cover his body.
Accompanied by a voice from the void, "Armor, unite!"
Fully suited in his Emperor Armor, Alan walked to the balcony.
"Teleport!"
...
Inside the NYPD Station.
The explosion outside had directly affected the interior.
George slowly stood up from the ground. Though the shockwave had knocked him down, he was fortunate not to have sustained any major injuries.
"Anna, are you okay?" George looked toward Anna, who was behind the door, his concern evident.
At the last second, George had pushed Anna toward the door, preventing her from being caught in the explosion.
Anna, leaning against the wall, slowly stood up. "I'm fine, Uncle George. Who was that freak?"
By now, several detectives had gathered behind George, all with their guns drawn and ready.
In response to Anna's question, George pulled out his handgun and shook his head in frustration. "I don’t know. I’ve never seen him before."
He turned to his officers, giving orders. "You, stay here and protect her. The rest of you, come with me!"
"The others, stay inside and cover us."
Outside the NYPD, flames still flickered, but there was no sign of the Green Goblin.
Despite the chaos, George’s years of experience as a police officer allowed him to remain calm as he gave precise commands. His team quickly moved into action, showing no signs of panic from the earlier explosion.
Leading the way, George held his gun and stepped out of the station. As soon as he exited, he aimed his weapon toward the sky. After all, that so-called Green Goblin had arrived from above.
But now, the sky was empty—nothing but the slowly rising smoke from the explosion.
The detectives behind George kept a vigilant eye on their surroundings, but everything remained eerily quiet.
"Stay alert. We don’t know what other tricks he might have up his sleeve!" George warned.
The next moment, however, all guns pivoted toward the front as a green figure slowly emerged from the flames—more accurately, floated out, as he was riding a glider.
"Not bad, not bad. You truly are the top 'good guy' in New York City. I admire you!" The Green Goblin, Norman, unabashedly praised George.
George’s quick reaction to the pumpkin bomb—something he'd never encountered before—was indeed impressive.
George aimed his gun directly at the Green Goblin’s head and coldly asked, "Who are you? What do you want?"
Osborn chuckled. "How forgetful! Didn’t I already introduce myself?"
"My name is Green Goblin!"
"As for what I’m doing here, well... I’m mainly here to..." Norman paused, looking at the group of detectives before finishing, "Kill someone!"
With that, he reached for another pumpkin bomb.
George immediately noticed Norman’s movements and, without hesitation, gave the order, "Fire!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
In an instant, gunfire erupted from all the detectives inside and outside the station, raining down on the Green Goblin.
Sparks flew as bullets struck Osborn’s exoskeleton, and after being hit repeatedly, he fell backward.
George quickly raised his hand, signaling for the shooting to stop.
"Cover me, I’m going to check it out!" George said to one of the nearby officers.
The officer nodded, admiration evident in his eyes. George was always the first to rush in when danger was present, which was why he was so respected at the NYPD.
After signaling the other detectives to remain on guard, George slowly approached the Green Goblin.
Suddenly, George’s expression changed. The pumpkin bomb in Osborn’s hand had slipped free, rolling away and emitting the same familiar beeping sound.
"Everyone, get back and take cover!" George yelled, running away while warning the others.
The detectives immediately turned and dove to the ground, covering their heads.
As the beeping grew faster, there was a loud bang, but instead of an explosion, a thick green smoke poured from the pumpkin bomb, quickly covering the area.
George's face darkened. He had been tricked!
At the same time, Norman’s manic laughter echoed from the smoke. In a mocking tone, he said, "Oops! My bad, wrong one! That was a smoke bomb!"
One of the detectives, the same one George had assigned to cover him, couldn’t hold back his anger. After muttering a low "fuck," he ignored George’s orders and charged into the smoke.
"No!" George shouted, but it was too late.
The detective rushed into the green smoke, but moments later, the only sound that came from within was the Green Goblin’s chilling screams.
"No, please don't kill me! I was wrong!"
Then, there was a piercing gunshot.
Bang!
...
