[Superman] Chapter 222: The Great Darkness That Ends the Reality of the Universe!
🕑 Added 2024-09-04 03:40:11 +0000 UTCGolden light enveloped the boundless darkness.
At this moment, Superman seemed to possess the power to reverse time.
He spun around the endless darkness at a speed that far surpassed the speed of light.
A long golden tail of light trailed behind him, seemingly capable of dispersing all the dark energy that spread outward.
"Disappear completely!"
Scenes of Earth’s beauty once filled Clark’s mind.
But it was this darkness that destroyed his home, obliterating everything he had.
At this moment, his heart was filled with an unwavering will; no matter what, even if it meant sacrificing his life, he would dispel this darkness and reclaim the home he had just lost.
Superman had just activated the immense potential within him at the core of the sun.
In an instant, he unleashed an unparalleled, extreme power.
Even the darkness that transcended dimensions seemed unable to penetrate the Superman who was constantly revolving around it.
The edges of the dark energy were gradually compressed by the golden light as Superman continued to spin.
If this continued, the powerful darkness that threatened the safety of the entire multiverse might actually be completely dispersed by Superman’s newfound power.
Thus, the crisis that threatened the entire multiverse might be resolved.
However, this darkness was not so simple.
Even though the Superman of this universe was on the brink of becoming the golden Superman who could rewrite reality at will, the outcome was still uncertain...
Suddenly, just as the edge of the infinite darkness was being pushed back by the radiant Superman, the previously calm center of the dark energy erupted with a violent surge.
It was as if a strange creature hidden within the dark energy was running endlessly under its cover.
"No! Could it be him?"
Superman noticed the disturbance in the dark energy. His powerful senses delved into the strange darkness, revealing a sight that filled him with shock and disbelief.
A figure flickering with black lightning was running within the darkness.
Beneath a ferocious face, flesh was torn and tattered, resembling a zombie from a horror film.
A long trail of black lightning followed behind it, seemingly able to stir all the dark energy.
But most importantly, this zombie-like figure felt incredibly familiar to Superman.
"No, it’s impossible. Barry could never fall into darkness..."
At that moment, Superman was filled with disbelief.
He couldn’t accept that the hero who, not long ago, had been dedicated to protecting the universe, had now become a minion of the darkness that sought to engulf the world.
"Damn it, this darkness must have corrupted Barry. I must wake him up and fight this darkness together!"
Though strictly speaking, Clark and this Barry Allen had only just met for the first time, they seemed to share a deep friendship and bond.
After all, this Barry, like the one from their universe who sacrificed himself to save them all, had a strong sense of justice and a spirit of sacrifice.
Clark couldn’t bear to see a companion who once fought to save the universe now become a puppet of endless darkness!
In an instant, intense anger filled Clark’s mind.
At that moment, he ignored his own safety and began to unleash the immense power within him.
He continued to circle the darkness at high speed, gathering his strength.
His speed had reached an extreme, so fast that his rapidly flying figure was no longer visible, only the increasingly dazzling and solid golden light revolving around the darkness.
Meanwhile, the zombie-like Barry, running rapidly within the darkness, began circling the edge of the darkness just like Superman.
The endless dark energy gathered behind him, forming an extreme dark barrier at the edge of the darkness, blocking the golden light and preventing it from dispelling the dark energy.
Thus, two rapidly rotating energies, each a different color, spun rapidly in opposition.
The two energies clashed and collided, generating waves of intense energy.
As if in unison, the two rapidly moving figures were both brewing even greater power.
It seemed they were waiting for the moment when their energy reached its peak, to engage in a true showdown.
...
As the two speeding figures gathered more and more energy, Clark's entire body suddenly transformed into radiant gold.
His entire body appeared as if it were forged from gold.
The immense energy gathered within him seemed capable of shattering an entire universe with a single punch.
On the other side, the zombie-like Flash, consumed by dark energy, was equally powerful.
His entire body had been completely overtaken by darkness, becoming the most extreme source of darkness in the universe.
As if emerging from the depths of an endless abyss, his ferocious face seemed to erode your soul with darkness, turning you into a puppet of the dark.
As the two figures reached their most powerful states, they simultaneously accelerated beyond their limits, charging straight toward each other.
Boom!
With a soundless explosion, the two figures collided.
In an instant, a terrifying shockwave erupted, capable of shattering the barriers of the universe.
The violent energy surge seemed to annihilate everything within the universe.
Crack… crack…
The rapidly expanding shockwave instantly shattered the reality of the entire universe.
The endless starry sky shattered like a mirror in an instant.
Beyond the shattered space lay a realm of endless void.
With the all-consuming shockwave, countless stars within the universe were obliterated in an instant, and the surrounding galaxies shattered.
From a broader perspective, the entire universe, under the impact of these two extreme energies, split in half like a giant watermelon.
"Although I can’t restore this universe and my former home, at least I’ve dispelled this darkness!"
In the silent void, Clark, now radiant with golden light, watched as the zombie-like dark figure in front of him slowly disintegrated, vanishing along with the endless darkness into the universe.
He sighed softly, realizing that in the end, he still couldn’t save this universe or rebuild his home.
But he had no regrets, for he had dispelled the darkness at the cost of himself and the universe’s destruction.
In the next moment, as Clark’s expression calmed, his body, like the zombie Flash before him, transformed into countless golden starlights, dispersing into the shattered universe.
It was clear that driving away the darkness had exhausted all his power.
No one knew how long had passed.
In the silent, broken universe, a wisp of dark mist drifted from the void.
Whoosh!
The dark aura suddenly gathered, forming a strange black figure.
Its face was impossible to discern, yet it exuded a sinister smile.
"Hehe, my dark essence was forcibly dispelled? Interesting..."
Without any visible change in its faceless expression, a voice like that of a deity slowly echoed, showing great interest in what had just transpired.
The next moment, the figure raised two arms made of darkness.
As two beams of dark light flashed, it was as if time itself was rewinding.
The universe, which had been split in two and filled with endless void, slowly merged back together under its actions.
The massive spatial fissures where the two halves of the universe met were rapidly repaired, soon appearing as if they had never been damaged.
In just an instant, the shattered universe was restored as if it were child’s play for this being.
However, even as the broken universe was restored, the strange dark figure did not stop.
It did not lower its raised arms.
Suddenly, two dark beams flashed before it.
The two figures that had been obliterated along with the shattered universe were reformed by its dark power.
The zombie Flash and Superman Clark slowly took shape once more before it.
"Wait, didn’t I perish along with that darkness just now? What’s going on?"
As Clark’s body was reformed, memories of his previous experience flooded his mind.
Not long ago, he had used all his strength to dispel the dark energy.
But he had burned out, perishing with it in the universe.
Why was he now revived?
...
"Of course, it was I who resurrected you from the endless void and hell!"
Sensing Clark’s confusion, the dark figure slowly spoke, explaining the current situation.
"You… damn it, who are you? Was that strange dark energy your doing?"
The bewildered Clark turned toward the voice. Seeing the dark figure, he seemed to understand everything, questioning it with shock.
"Indeed, that darkness was my doing..."
The figure admitted everything without hesitation.
"As for who I am? I am the one who existed before the birth of the universe, the embodiment of infinite darkness, the essence that brings an end to the omniverse and all reality..."
"I am—the Great Darkness!"
As the voice, seemingly reverberating throughout the multiverse, echoed, Superman’s face revealed a hint of terror.
It was as if he saw the endless darkness completely engulf the omniverse.
Even the God who created the universe couldn’t stop it from happening!
The terrifying vision, even for Superman, evoked an overwhelming sense of fear.
"No, this can’t be! How can you have such immense power?"
Superman shook his head vigorously, as if trying to dispel the extreme fear in his mind.
At the same time, he seemed desperate to deny that this strange dark figure had the terrifying power to consume the entire omniverse.
"Hehe, whether you believe it or not, nothing can stop this from happening!"
"Not you, not anyone in the omniverse, not even the God who created the universe can stop my plan!"
"This universe will soon have a new master!"
"The Great Darkness will engulf everything!"
The figure, calling itself the Great Darkness, spoke with a tone full of confidence.
"No! You will never succeed..."
Consumed by intense fear, Superman could no longer hold back. He clenched his fists and charged toward the eerie dark figure, seemingly intent on destroying it.
"Hehe, don’t forget, I was the one who revived you!"
However, as Superman rushed toward the strange dark figure, he suddenly realized he couldn’t control his own body.
"And you, as well as this zombie Flash I resurrected, are now my puppets!"
As if controlled by an invisible hand, Superman and the zombie Flash, whose flesh was nearly shredded, simultaneously charged at each other under the control of the Great Darkness.
Thus, the two Supermen who had just awakened, although not as powerful as before, had fallen into darkness, forced to engage in a fierce battle with each other, their lives hanging by a thread.
In the shadows, the strange figure watched with eerie satisfaction, as if relishing the scene.
Dark energy spread behind it, slowly enveloping the endless void where no light could escape.
...
In the distant depths of the universe, several faint beams of light flashed in the darkness.
They were the remaining members of the Justice League who had arrived from the collapsed universe.
After they had endured endless difficulties and nearly lost their lives, they had finally crossed the cosmic dimension and found their way here.
But as they faced the seemingly endless darkness before them, they began to fear that this might be their final battle...
