[Superman] Chapter 172: The Fallen Apocalypse World
🕑 Added 2024-07-22 03:32:29 +0000 UTCSeeing the Flash so reckless, even appearing as if this is his first encounter with the Speed Force passage, Peter guessed that this guy might have just recently mastered the ability to open the Speed Force passage.
"This guy hasn’t ended up in Supergirl’s universe, has he?"
Reflecting briefly, Peter realized that the TV version of the Flash, upon learning that the Speed Force can traverse universes and understanding the existence of the multiverse, seemed to have crossed into the universe where Supergirl resides.
"Though the TV version of Supergirl isn't particularly strong, she does seem to have a decent appearance..."
Peter had only a simple impression of the TV version of Supergirl.
Just as Peter was pondering the situation with the TV version of the Flash, the Speed Force passage seemed to be reaching its end.
Ahead, a dazzling light was shining, as if signaling him that he was about to enter a completely different universe reality.
"Perhaps we’ll have another chance to meet in the future!"
Peter thought to himself as he looked at the area where the Flash had fallen out.
The next moment, he turned and stepped out of the Speed Force passage, heading into an unknown universe reality.
...
*Chapter 173: The Fallen Apocalypse World*
On a certain Earth within the DC Multiverse, a figure suddenly appeared on the ground.
"Hmm? It seems I've arrived in an unknown wasteland? The surroundings are so desolate..."
Peter, newly arrived in this unfamiliar universe, looked around at the barren, seemingly deserted landscape with curiosity.
This is a DC universe, which is completely different from the Marvel universe.
It’s also his first time setting foot on Earth in the DC universe.
"Hmm? The sky here..."
However, as Peter glanced at the sky, his eyes gradually narrowed.
The scene in the sky was starkly different from the Earthly sky he was accustomed to.
Instead of the blue sky with drifting white clouds, which usually creates a serene and uplifting view, the sky here was a murky yellow. It seemed as if a thick layer of yellow sand covered the entire void, making even the once-brilliant sun barely visible.
The once-pure white clouds were now tinged with blood-red, as if the crimson sun had cast a mournful and lonely aura upon them.
"It looks like this world is indeed experiencing some sort of impending apocalyptic scenario, just as I suspected."
At this moment, Peter was fairly certain that his earlier judgment about this universe, based on the dead and fiery scene on the surface of the universe, was correct.
The reason Peter chose this universe among countless others was precisely because it seemed to be on the brink of extinction and apocalypse.
And indeed, his assumptions were proving accurate.
As Peter was about to use his super hearing to sense the apocalyptic conditions of this world, his attention was suddenly drawn to the sky.
Under the dimly shrouded sky, a group of peculiar creatures with dragonfly-like wings and red eyes came charging toward him.
"Are these... Parademons?"
In an instant, Peter recognized these strange creatures in the sky as Parademons, loyal to the dark tyrant Darkseid.
"Heh, I didn’t expect we’d meet so soon..."
"But it’s a pity that this universe doesn’t have Darkseid himself, only a mere avatar."
As Peter watched the Parademon army rush towards him, a faint smile appeared on his lips.
"There’s a surviving human over there. Let's move quickly and make sure he doesn’t escape!"
In the sky, a Parademon scout, patrolling the area, spotted Peter and immediately led its subordinates toward his location, seemingly oblivious to the danger.
Their appearance further confirmed Peter's suspicions.
With the Parademon army openly attacking humanity in this world, it seemed that Earth in this universe had already fallen completely under the Parademon’s control, possibly even ruled by Darkseid.
Within a short time, the Parademons had already flown close to Peter.
Swarming like locusts, they covered the sky and spread out to encircle Peter, seemingly fearful of letting him escape.
The next moment, a single Parademon flew out of the group, approaching Peter and hovering in front of him, holding a weapon of some sort, and looking down upon him with a malevolent gaze.
Its crimson eyes reflected an intense cruelty, as if eager to torture this rare human they had found.
"Hehe, you disgusting human, you can’t escape!"
"Under the great Darkseid’s leadership, we will completely conquer this planet and plunder everything on it."
"And you pitiful, weak humans, only deserve to live in endless fear."
"Provide endless fear as food for our powerful legion..."
"Fear, tremble... then we will completely tear your body apart!"
Under Darkseid’s command, the endless Parademon army had almost occupied the entire Earth.
Countless humans had become the source of fear for them.
At this moment, staring at the tiny, ant-like humans, the Parademon scout struggled to resist the urge to tear them apart directly.
Instead, it aimed to instill immense fear in them, much like a cat playing with a mouse, to make the fear-filled food even more delicious.
However, it was destined to be disappointed.
For facing the encirclement of the Parademons, Peter showed no trace of fear.
"Fear?"
A smile appeared on Peter’s face as he responded.
"Sorry, but if anyone should be afraid, it’s you."
As soon as the words were spoken, Peter’s smile vanished, and he disappeared from his original spot.
"Human... this is impossible!"
In an instant, Peter’s figure appeared right in front of the Parademon scout, floating in the void.
Then, with a punch, he struck the Parademon scout.
"No!"
At that moment, the Parademon seemed to experience the same profound fear that countless humans had felt before them.
Overwhelmed by strong unwillingness, it attempted to evade Peter’s punch.
However, the almost-congealed space seemed to press heavily on its body, preventing it from even pulling the trigger on its weapon.
Thud!
Peter’s fist hit the Parademon scout’s body, piercing through it and emerging from its back.
"No!"
A scream filled with fear and anguish echoed through the world.
For the first time, the Parademons felt intense fear from the "delicacy" they were so proud of.
In the next moment, Peter grabbed the Parademon scout and began tearing its body apart, splitting it in two.
The Parademon’s crimson eyes remained unblinking, enduring the excruciating pain and fear of its torn body.
Suddenly, as Peter casually discarded the remains of the Parademon, a burst of crimson flames erupted from its corpse.
The blazing fire seemed not only to burn the remains of the Parademon but also to scorch its very soul.
"Ah..."
The Parademon, already unable to make a sound due to its torn body, let out a final, terrifyingly harsh cry.
It was then reduced to ashes, mingling with the ground and scattered by the wind.
"No, how is this possible! Humans should never be this strong..."
In this moment, the countless Parademons surrounding Peter seemed to feel extreme terror. They began to slowly retreat, as if wanting to escape.
"Yes, that’s right!"
"In fact, just like you, I enjoy seeing your fearful expressions and that unwillingness to die..."
A smile curled at Peter’s lips, appearing like a cruel reaper to the Parademons.
"Open fire, eliminate this vile human!"
The next moment, countless Parademons, unable to contain their inner terror, attempted to use advanced weaponry beyond Earth’s technology to eliminate the human survivor.
...
*Sizzle!*
*Bang! Bang! Bang!*
Thousands upon thousands of Parademons opened fire without hesitation at Peter, who was surrounded.
Endless crimson beams tore through the surrounding void, converging in Peter's area and erupting with explosive bursts.
The area around Peter was completely saturated with blood-red light, as if it were the result of human blood spraying and forming a thick mist.
"Did we get him?"
The countless Parademons roared, their red eyes straining to see through the red fog.
But the next moment, a figure suddenly burst out from within.
Instantly, it charged into the endless army of Parademons.
At this moment, the figure seemed to transform into a ruthless killing machine.
With terrifying strength and a powerful physique, it easily shredded each Parademon.
In the blink of an eye, the Parademon army suffered heavy casualties, with countless Parademons being torn apart by the overwhelming force.
Endless remains fell like hail from the void, bursting into flames as they neared the ground and then turning to ashes.
Facing the swarming, locust-like Parademons, Peter felt that using only his hands to tear them apart was simply not satisfying enough.
Cold eyes suddenly flashed with golden light.
Whoosh!
A brilliant, flame-like crimson beam shot out from his eyes.
Peter’s head turned slowly.
The beam swept through the Parademon army.
Groups of Parademons were sliced in half, their bodies ablaze. Those who didn’t die instantly screamed in agony as they fell to the ground.
Peter’s eyes, infused with the Phoenix Force’s heat vision, were like the scythe of the Grim Reaper.
They harvested the lives of the Parademon army in swathes.
The blazing Phoenix fire even incinerated their very souls.
In less than a few seconds, the entire sky, once filled with thousands of locust-like Parademons, was almost entirely decimated.
Only a few scattered Parademon foot soldiers remained, their eyes filled with fear as they looked at Peter.
Then, they turned and fled in terror.
Of course, they might have been preparing to call for reinforcements to deal with this merciless reaper.
But the next moment, Peter’s figure instantly appeared in front of the fleeing Parademon soldiers.
He threw a punch, ripping the entire sky open with a fissure that cut through it.
The terrifying power reduced the few remaining soldiers to molecular fragments, completely erasing them from existence.
...
*Not far from Peter’s location,*
A small, disheveled and desperate group trudged through the world of swirling yellow sand.
Surrounding them was a city in ruins, with collapsed skyscrapers and broken bridges beneath their feet.
“How much farther?”
The group, relying on the wreckage of the ruined city to avoid the constantly patrolling Parademon army in the sky, prepared to continue their journey.
However, a figure wrapped entirely in a tattered cloth, with only their head visible but half of it covered in metallic sheen, asked the one leading the group.
“We’re almost there!”
The figure, wearing a broken bat mask and holding a machine gun, answered slowly.
“No, we can’t stay exposed for too long. He’ll discover us soon!”
The half-mechanical figure spoke with some urgency, clearly afraid of being discovered by a terrifying entity.
“Let that bastard come. I’m already fed up with this hiding and running!”
“He killed Arthur. I’ll personally drive my weapon through his heart and make him pay for what he’s done.”
The woman in fish-scale armor’s eyes burned with a fire of hatred.
“I’m sorry, I know how you feel, Mera. We’ve all lost friends and allies…”
“But we have to keep going. Only by doing so can we restore what’s left and reclaim our home from those damned bastards!”
Batman spoke with determination, his gaze sweeping over the apocalyptic city ruins, his eyes also filled with boundless hatred and hidden rage.
“Ha…”
“Hahaha… He has indeed lost his beloved, witnessing it all firsthand…”
Suddenly, a somewhat desolate laugh echoed, and a figure slowly turned around, revealing a pale face with blood-red corners of the mouth.
It was as if mocking Batman’s compassionate, almost heavenly demeanor.
“Joker, although the world is facing its apocalypse, that doesn’t mean you, a rat hiding in the sewers, can boldly appear under the sun…”
Batman seemed to forcefully suppress his inner anger, staring at the figure that resembled the Joker.
“Batman, let’s call a truce…”
Just as the Joker’s smile was radiant and he was about to continue speaking,
Whoosh!
A sound of something cutting through the air echoed through the sky.
The Joker’s smile vanished instantly, and everyone’s expressions turned alert.
“Damn, that bastard has found us!”
“Prepare for battle!”
Boom!
A figure crashed down in front of them.
The red cloak trailing behind was especially eye-catching.
He slowly looked up, his crimson eyes and cold face meeting the wary and angry gazes of the group.
“A patrol squad just lost contact. So, it’s you elusive rats who have finally come out to scavenge!”
