[Genshin Impact] Chapter 134: Purple Turns Black
🕑 Added 2024-04-15 15:57:29 +0000 UTCFollowing the main road through the Windsrise Valley leads to the Dadaupa Gorge, where there are three large Hilichurl tribes, and the Black Sun Clan aka Eclipse Tribe is one of them.
The other two were the Meaty Tribe in the north and the Sleeper Tribe in the south.
The Black Sun Tribe was located in the east of the canyon, and it was near this tribe that Diluc's underground intelligence network had found traces of the Stormterror's presence.
However, they didn't find any red crystals at that location, so it's highly likely that the Hilichurls of the Black Sun Clan took them.
After Nolan and Lisa rushed over and found nothing, Nolan activated his "Golden Eye of Judgment" to follow the traces of the wind element all the way here.
Compared to the usual Hillchurl camps, the Black Day clan's settlement appeared much larger.
Outside, there was a crude wooden fence encircling it, and in every corner inside, there was a watchtower with a Hilichurl holding a crossbow, ready to shoot at any moment.
Such high discipline was somewhat incredible for the Hilichurl race; it was clear that the influence of the Abyss Order was behind it.
"Miss Lisa, let me sneak in first and scout things out."
After all, this was reality, not a game. Even though Lisa was likely to prevent any accidents, it wouldn't be good if he got hurt. It was better to be cautious, even if he was proficient in stealth.
Lisa, with her fair arms crossed beneath the snowy fabric covering her chest, shook her head slightly. "I sense a formidable opponent inside for you. There's a high chance you'll be detected if you sneak in. If anything were to happen to you, I'd be really upset, you know~"
"Oh, so are you going to take action, Miss Lisa?" Nolan paused for a moment, then furrowed his brows slightly.
Since Lisa said there was an opponent inside that he couldn't handle, it was unlikely to be false. His stealth was just optical camouflage, after all, and it wouldn't make much difference against a powerful foe.
"I guess that's the only way. Little adventurer, make some noise to attract it out," Lisa said, her purple skirt swaying slightly in the wind as she tapped her fair chin with her index finger.
"Alright, no problem." Nolan nodded in response.
The camp was teeming with monsters, and it was their territory. Rushing in recklessly might result in being quickly surrounded, whereas outside, they didn't have the geographical advantage.
It was simple to lure them out: just launch an attack.
It was a good opportunity to practice attaching fire elemental energy to arrows.
Nolan took out the Adventurer's Hunting Bow from the Delusion, and an armor-piercing arrow appeared on the drawn bowstring with the slightest movement of his thoughts.
In no time at all, the elemental energy released from the Delusion gathered onto the arrowhead, and a crimson glow emanated from it.
The entire process took about three seconds, much slower than Amber or Fischl, mainly because he wasn't yet proficient.
Nolan hid behind a tree, using the dense foliage and sturdy trunk to shield himself. He aimed at the Hilichurl holding a bow on the watchtower.
As he released his hand, the red elemental arrow pierced the Hilichurl's head without leaving a trace, even turning its bone mask slightly charred.
【Defeat A Powerful Enemy, Obtained 201 Adventure EXP.】
"Ya!"
Another Hilichurl on a watchtower noticed the anomaly and immediately sounded the alarm. Its gaze searched left and right, but for a moment, it didn't spot where the arrow had come from.
After all, Nolan's arrows had the extraordinary characteristic of being shadowless and silent.
During the few seconds the Hilichurl was dazed, Nolan's second arrow, already imbued with fire elemental energy, was shot.
【Defeat A Powerful Enemy, Obtained 232 Adventure EXP.】
As the two Hilichurls on the watchtowers fell, roars of anger erupted from the Black Sun Clan's camp.
A group of Hilichurl mobs rushed out of the camp, some carrying wooden shields, others wielding axes, and a few holding large explosive barrels made from Slime.
【Level: 35】,【Level: 41】...
A total of nine large-bodied Hilichurl thugs appeared, with the lowest level being above level 35. It's no wonder they were able to stand tall in the Dadaupa Gorge for so long as one of the Hilichurl tribes.
Indeed, they had quite impressive overall strength.
If Nolan had come alone, he definitely wouldn't dare to provoke them and would have stayed far away.
At this moment, they were also observing where the enemy was. Two Hilichurls with bows had reappeared on the empty watchtowers.
Not long after,
Hilichurl shamans and charging Hilichurl Fighters with torches emerged, pouring out in waves, a dense mass that seemed to darken the surroundings.
Lisa, standing behind Nolan, took two steps forward in her black high heels. The deep purple gemstone dangling from her anklet swayed slightly on her feet wrapped in black stockings as she walked.
She patted Nolan's shoulder and looked towards the group of Hilichurls in the distance, saying, "Oh, little adventurer, look, it's those inhuman beings from the Abyss Order."
"Ice Abyss Mages."
Nolan caught a faint whiff of a comforting and uniquely feminine scent, and his gaze fell on the Ice Abyss Mage who emerged at the back of the group of Hilichurls, surprisingly at level 56.
If he hadn't been discovered when he sneaked in earlier, he might have been turned into an ice sculpture in an instant.
"There they are!"
The Ice Abyss Mage was indeed more formidable than the Hilichurls. It sensed the flow of elemental energy nearby and barely detected the faint traces of fire elemental energy left in the air.
"YA!!!"
Receiving the instructions from the Ice Mage, the Hilichurl people all rushed towards Nolan and their side.
Their gazes were like a black tide, surging forward, and an overwhelming sense of fear rose in Nolan's heart.
Damn! Who could withstand this momentum?
Nolan's eyes narrowed slightly, feeling an impulse to climb up a tree immediately. But thankfully, the presence of Lisa beside him eased his mind a little.
Manipulating the Delusion, he released the fire element and condensed it into a fireball in his hand, then threw it over to the wooden shield of the shield-wielding Hilichurl guard.
Suddenly, the wooden shield was ignited, and the two Hilichurl thugs in the front hurriedly stopped to pat out the flames.
One of the Hilichurl thugs wielding an axe in the back jumped into the air and descended towards Nolan and his group like a falling meteor.
"Hehe, what a terrifying momentum."
Lisa raised her palm covered by black gloves gently, and in the next moment, countless lightning elements gathered frantically from the surroundings into her palm, dyeing the sky purple.
One of the lightning bolts formed by the lightning elements was guided by the iron axe and struck the falling Hilichurl thug.
Visibly, it paused in mid-air for a moment, the scorching pain and paralysis causing it to struggle in various futile attempts to alleviate the pain, but to no avail.
It didn't take long.
Not long after, all the lightning elements were compressed into a sphere the size of a thumb in Lisa's palm. The dense purple naturally turned black, like a singularity in the universe.
"Bang!" The Hilichurl, charred by electricity, crashed down.
【Your Teammate Defeated A Powerful Enemy, Obtained 540 Adventure EXP.】
The title of Honorable Knight took effect, and Nolan gained 30% of the Adventure EXP, while the group of Hilichurls in front of them were also scared stiff, their gazes filled with fear as they stared at the "singularity" of lightning elements in Lisa's palm.
