"Universal Overlord Thanos?"
Upon hearing this name, the faces of many crew members present underwent significant changes.
Wandering through the universe, how could they not have heard of the name of Thanos the Mad Titan?
They had also heard of his brutal deeds, where blood flowed like rivers wherever Thanos went.
"That's right, it's Thanos. He just slaughtered Xandar, seized the Power Stone, and ruthlessly killed my comrades."
"I was the only one who managed to escape."
Speaking of his comrades, his face couldn't help but show strong sadness.
Even though the Nova Corps possessed formidable power, they were utterly powerless against Thanos with the Power Stone.
Over a hundred members of the Nova Corps didn't last even a minute.
If it weren't for the sacrifices of his comrades, he might not have escaped himself.
"What's the Power Stone? And isn't it a bit exaggerated to say there's a crisis engulfing the entire universe?"
"Even if Thanos is powerful, can he really threaten the entire universe so easily?"
Yondo couldn't believe what he was hearing.
After all, in Yondo's view, destroying the entire universe, star by star, was no easy feat, even for Thanos.
"The Power Stone is a cosmic artifact that has existed since the birth of the universe, and there are a total of six of them, each representing a fundamental force of the universe."
"The blue Space Stone, the green Time Stone, the orange Soul Stone, the yellow Mind Stone, the red Reality Stone..."
"And finally, the last and most destructive one, the purple Power Stone currently taken by Thanos."
This centurion of the Nova Corps clearly understood the origins of the Infinity Stones better than many others.
"Each stone possesses immense power, and when the six stones are brought together, they unleash a terrifying force capable of destroying the entire universe."
"If Thanos collects all six Infinity Stones, destroying the entire universe would be as easy as snapping his fingers."
With this explanation, even the centurion himself couldn't help but show a hint of fear on his face.
"This... Are you exaggerating a bit? Destroying the entire universe with a snap of his fingers? How is that possible?"
At this moment, many people felt that the centurion's words were alarmist.
Destroying the entire universe with a snap of his fingers? They thought the universe was more resilient than that.
"Captain, I think this guy must have gone mad from witnessing Thanos's massacre of Xandar."
A crew member walked up to Peter and said quietly, looking at the centurion with a sympathetic expression, as if he were looking at a fool.
"Captain, although we can't fully believe him, we should still be cautious. It might be better not to go to Xandar, lest we attract the attention of that madman Thanos."
Even Yondo couldn't fully believe what the centurion had said.
It was because what he described was beyond what they could accept.
The universe was vast, and even they, the Ravagers, had never truly ventured out of the Milky Way.
It was even harder to imagine what kind of power could destroy the entire universe with a snap of the fingers.
"You... Damn it, you have no idea how serious the situation is right now!"
The centurion stared angrily at everyone, wanting to explain but not knowing how to begin.
"Forget it, I can't explain it to you. Even if I could, you wouldn't believe me. If possible, could you lend me a small escape pod? I need to return to Nova Corps headquarters immediately and report this threat to the entire universe."
In the end, the centurion gave up trying to explain.
It was like modern people, with their advanced technology, could never fully explain to primitive people how spacecraft could fly through the universe.
At this moment, the centurion could only plead with Peter and the others to lend him an escape pod so he could return to headquarters as soon as possible and report this matter.
...
"Thank you all... Well, let's hope we can all safely pass through this crisis that engulfs the universe."
Before boarding the escape pod and leaving, the centurion looked at the many crew members, wanting to remind them.
But considering the crisis that was sweeping across the entire universe, if they couldn't safely navigate through it, then the entire universe would be destroyed, and any reminders would be useless.
He could only sigh and quickly return to headquarters in the escape pod.
"Captain, why did you lend our ship to him? Do you really believe his story about a crisis engulfing the entire universe?"
Watching the ship disappear as it traveled through the space-time nodes, Yondu couldn't help but feel curious and asked Peter.
"Of course, I believe him."
Peter didn't hesitate to reply.
"Well..."
Yondu didn't expect Peter to answer so confidently, and for a moment, he was at a loss for words.
"Captain, what should we do now?"
Whether out of trust in Peter or acknowledgment of his formidable strength, when Peter said he believed, almost all the crew members looked at him nervously, feeling somewhat at a loss.
"I am Groot."
Beside them, only the innocent-eyed Groot looked around at everyone with curiosity.
"Of course, we're going back to Earth!"
Peter said matter-of-factly.
The expressions of the many crew members around him instantly turned somewhat fearful.
"Captain, do we really have to get involved in this matter?"
"Please, reconsider, Captain."
"After all, that's Thanos, the universe's infamous tyrant, known for his ruthless methods."
It's no wonder many crew members felt fearful. Thanos had made quite a name for himself in the universe over the years.
Even hearing about him could instill a deep sense of fear.
"Don't worry, he's just a Thanos."
Facing the crew's fear, Peter was full of confidence.
"Just a Thanos?"
Many crew members couldn't help but feel apprehensive.
"It seems that at this moment, Thanos still possesses one of the Infinity Stones, a stone with infinite power..."
After thinking about what the centurion had said, the hearts of all the crew members were completely filled with fear.
However, they couldn't resist Peter's authority.
Reluctantly, they changed the ship's course and headed towards Earth.
...
And half an hour ago...
In the outer space above Earth...
Buzz!
Accompanied by a spatial ripple, a massive spaceship traversed the cosmic void and suddenly stopped above Earth.
"Great Lord Thanos, we have arrived above Earth and have not detected any air defense fleet or anti-aircraft weapons."
"The technological level of this planet is basically consistent with what General Ronan described."
As the spaceship docked in the outer space of Earth, Ebony Maw knelt on one knee and reported to Thanos on the throne.
"Finally... Have we arrived?"
Originally, Thanos was resting with his eyes closed, and there were still some undried bloodstains on his golden armor.
Upon hearing Ebony Maw's report, he slowly opened his eyes.
His gaze stared beyond the battleship at the blue planet, filled with coldness and a hint of battle intent.
"Great Lord Thanos, please grant me half an hour, and I will conquer this planet and personally present the Infinity Stones that I have taken for you!"
Ebony Maw looked at Thanos with anticipation, hoping that he would entrust him with the opportunity to conquer Earth this time.
"No need, this time, I will personally reclaim those few Infinity Stones!"
Thanos slowly stood up from the throne. He raised his left hand, and a purple light gleamed on the golden glove.
Shortly after...
In a deserted desert on Earth...
A beam of light descended from the sky.
The next moment, several figures suddenly appeared in the desert.
"Great Lord Thanos, let me root out those insignificant humans."
Looking at the vast yellow desert, Ebony Maw asked Thanos for instructions.
After Thanos nodded slowly...
A hint of excitement flashed across Ebony Maw's face. Without any hesitation, he walked forward gracefully and raised his hands.
Instantly, the endless desert began to churn up sudden massive tornadoes.
The tornadoes swept up gravel and soared into the sky.
In just a moment, the scene of doomsday with the endless yellow sand obscuring the sky emerged.
As the yellow sand in the desert was swiftly swept up by the tornadoes...
A massive secret military base slowly emerged in front of everyone.
"Beep, beep, beep... Intruders detected..."
At this moment, chaos erupted in the military base suddenly exposed in the field of view.
The piercing alarm echoed throughout the entire military base, filling everyone's hearts with tension.
In the center of the military base, within a laboratory hidden underground dozens of floors...
Hawkeye held a special bow and sat on the support structure above the base. His hawk-like eyes tightly locked onto the center of the laboratory, where a cube emitting a brilliant blue light lay.
"This is the highest level of alert. What's going on?"
The sudden alarm made Hawkeye extremely nervous, wondering what had happened.
"Intruders detected. All research personnel, evacuate quickly. All security personnel, assemble immediately!"
After the alarm sounded several times, a voice filled with tension and disbelief rang out.
"Damn it, what's going on?"
At this moment, although he was a security guard, Hawkeye was different from ordinary guards. He was personally appointed by Nick Fury to monitor the Tesseract day and night, ensuring its safety at all costs.
Therefore, even though he was extremely curious about what had happened, he still couldn't abandon his post.
Below, it seemed that the research personnel had also received the message to evacuate with the Tesseract. They were rapidly dismantling all the devices surrounding the Tesseract, preparing to leave with it as soon as possible.
However, just as all the researchers were swiftly dismantling the devices around the Tesseract like the ark's reactor...
Buzz!
A sudden burst of intense blue energy erupted from the previously stable Tesseract.
The powerful blue energy instantly blasted all the researchers away.
And the dismantled devices were also destroyed by the powerful energy, completely losing their function.
However, on top of the Tesseract, it seemed that stability couldn't be restored. It continued to flicker with dazzling blue light.
...
"These guys, who exactly are they?"
At this moment, as all the defense guards assembled and arrived outside the military base, they instantly saw several figures with strange appearances.
"Could they be aliens?"
Some couldn't help but speculate.
"Whoever they are, trespassing into a secret base, they absolutely cannot be allowed to leave."
With the words of the commander, hundreds of guards, armed with special weapons, rushed towards Thanos and the others.
"Roar!"
Previously injured by the attack of the Power Stone, the Black Dwarf, with burns still visible on his skin, was about to charge forward with his battle axe.
But Thanos stopped him.
Then, Thanos slowly stepped forward, walking towards the center of the base, as if completely disregarding the obstruction ahead.
"Intruders ahead, listen up. You have entered a secret base. Stop immediately and submit to inspection, otherwise..."
Before he could finish, cracks suddenly appeared on his skin, and a dazzling purple light shot out from his body.
The next moment, his body burst open instantly.
"What... What is this thing?"
Such a terrifying event happening before them filled them with intense fear.
Instantly, they could no longer hesitate and launched an attack directly at Thanos and the others!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
After studying the technology of the Chitauri invaders from the last Earth invasion, they made improvements to the new weapons manufactured using the Tesseract.
At this moment, along with the guards launching their attack, beams of dazzling blue energy shot rapidly towards Thanos and the others.
However, Thanos raised his left hand, and purple light gleamed on the golden glove.
All the energy beams directed at them were instantly annihilated.
Even all the guards around, their skin cracked instantly, then burst open.
"Let's go, the Space Stone is inside."
Thanos, who had just annihilated hundreds of lives in an instant, had a calm expression on his face, without a hint of emotion.
He walked slowly towards the center of the military base.
"Ah!"
Inside the military base, there were several people who wanted to stop Thanos, but they were easily annihilated by the power of the Power Stone.
Soon, Thanos and the others arrived unimpeded at the laboratory where the Tesseract was located.
"Who are you?"
At this moment, Hawkeye had just put the Tesseract in a box, preparing to take it away.
"If I were you, I'd put it down..."
Thanos looked at the box in Hawkeye's hand and spoke slowly.
"No way, I will never hand it over to you!"
As Hawkeye refused, he suddenly threw the box into the air.
Then, taking advantage of the moment when Thanos and the others were distracted by the box, he drew two arrows from behind and shot one of them towards Thanos and the others.
"Hmph!"
Thanos just waved his hand casually, and the arrow was instantly annihilated by a sudden burst of purple energy.
Ebony Maw, without hesitation, reached out his hand and grabbed the box in mid-air.
"No!"
Hawkeye roared and shot another arrow at the box.
This arrow was a grappling arrow. After hitting the box, Hawkeye tried to pull it back.
However, he found that with his strength, he couldn't resist the immense power on it.
Instead, he was dragged to the ground directly.
"Great Lord Thanos, your faithful servant presents this to you!"
Successfully obtaining the box containing the Tesseract, Ebony Maw knelt on one knee, took out the Tesseract from the box, and respectfully handed it to Thanos.
Thanos took the Tesseract and exerted force slowly.
Crack!
The incredibly hard Tesseract was actually crushed by him.
Clatter!
Fragments of the Tesseract slowly scattered on the ground, with only one blue gem shimmering brightly in Thanos's hand.
Ding!
As the blue gem was embedded on the golden glove on Thanos's left hand...
A terrifying blue energy instantly gathered all over his body.
Thanos clenched his fists, tilting his head back to feel the powerful force of the Space Stone pouring into his body.
Swish!
But suddenly, an arrow shot towards him.
"Hmph!"
With a cold snort, Thanos's azure light shimmered, and the arrow disappeared when it was about to hit his body.
"How is this possible?"
The next moment, the arrow suddenly appeared behind Hawkeye and exploded loudly!
"Loki, why don't you show yourself? Do you really think I can't find you?"
Thanos suddenly turned around, slowly speaking towards a secluded corner nearby.
