Grim warships descended from the sky like meteors, breaking through the clouds and slowly descending towards the surface of Xandar.
This also heralded the full-scale war between two civilizations, opening at this moment.
Above Xandar, all defense systems, apart from the previously destroyed anti-aircraft guns, were activated instantly.
Thousands of energy clusters surged past the fleet in the sky, crashing onto Ronan's warships.
Boom!
Countless fireworks-like flames bloomed on the flagship in an instant.
However, the activation of the flagship's defense system resulted in most of the firepower being blocked by the shields, causing no substantial damage.
"All, commence the attack at once!"
The fleet commander directly issued the attack order at this moment.
As the anti-aircraft guns charged, thousands of small-scale warships began their assault.
Beams of energy, like a brilliant meteor shower, flew towards the sky.
Boom!
Although the attack power of each warship was limited, far inferior to the firepower of the anti-aircraft guns, the scale and momentum of thousands of warships attacking together were equally immense.
On the grim flagship in the sky, intense flames continued to flash.
The powerful impact and shock had already exceeded the limits that the protective shield could withstand.
Boom!
Inside the flagship, a strong vibration swept through.
"My Lord Ronan, if this continues, our flagship's defense system may not hold..."
Feeling the intense vibration of the warship, one of Ronan's subordinates couldn't help but remind him.
"Hmph, activate the shield system at full power, channel all energy into the flagship's engines."
"Even if we have to force through, we must reach the surface of Xandar before our flagship is completely destroyed!"
At this moment, Ronan naturally felt the strong vibration of the warship as well.
He could fully imagine how intense the attack his flagship was enduring at this moment.
However, if he chose to retreat now, everything he had done before would be in vain.
He absolutely could not accept such a result.
Even if his flagship was completely destroyed, he must successfully land on the surface of Xandar.
"Yes, my Lord Ronan!"
...
"Damn it, has Ronan completely lost his mind?"
As time passed, even though the descent of the flagship in the air was slowed down by ground anti-aircraft weapons and the continuous attacks from the fleet.
But under the circumstances where Ronan's fleet almost threw out the flagship.
The flagship finally broke through the clouds and landed only less than a kilometer from the ground.
At this moment, the shadow of the flagship almost completely enveloped the entire land.
Just tens of meters above the Xandar Guardian fleet.
"Captain, what should we do now?"
With the continuous attacks, several warships in the fleet could not sustain the energy attack for such a long time.
And now, it was impossible to return to the ground for replenishment.
After all, the flagship had pressed over their heads and was about to crush the entire fleet into pieces.
"All ships, follow orders, immediately deploy defensive formations and form a blockade."
"No matter what, we must stop these damn Kree from landing before the Nova Corps arrives."
Watching the massive warships looming overhead, the fleet commander issued the latest command with an extremely firm gaze.
Immediately after the commander's order was issued.
The entire fleet began to arrange themselves in an orderly and neat manner.
"Locked in!"
The wings of the small warships slowly unfolded, forming a dazzling octagonal star shape.
Countless octagonal star warships with unfolded wings were combined in a specific way, with wings docked between each other, forming a complete energy pathway.
Sizzle...
With more warships successfully locked into the energy network, instantly, a golden energy defense network was gradually constructed between the entire fleet.
It was thousands of kilometers long and nearly a thousand kilometers wide.
Although it couldn't cover the entire sky, it was just one size larger than Ronan's flagship in the air.
With the formation of the defense network, Ronan's warships finally came into contact with the entire fleet.
Hum!
At the next moment, with the warship engines that formed the defense network erupting with surging energy.
Two huge forces began to collide.
Creak!
Both forces were incredibly powerful, and for a period of time, they seemed to be in a stalemate.
Until several minutes passed, Ronan's warships couldn't advance another meter.
"Hmph, futile resistance!"
Seeing that the flagship couldn't move forward even half a step, Ronan, sitting on the throne, finally stood up.
He slowly approached the front of the warship, his purple eyes staring at the defensive network formed by the Xandar fleet, filled with coldness.
"Die, insignificant Xandarians!"
At the next moment, without hesitation, Ronan raised the universal warhammer in his hand.
The eerie purple light shone like stars.
Terrifying energy swirled and brewed at the top of the warhammer, exuding an aura of annihilation.
"No, everyone, quickly disperse!"
Seeing Ronan's movements, the fleet commander's face was full of shock, then hurriedly shouted.
However, he was still a step too slow.
At the moment he shouted to disperse, a beam of purple light full of destruction erupted from the warhammer held by Ronan.
Directly hitting the golden defense network of the warship.
Boom!
Several warships at the forefront were instantly destroyed.
The entire defense network was instantly torn open with a huge gap.
And that purple energy full of destruction actually spread along the defense network.
"Quick, disperse!"
In an instant, the entire warship defense network was completely disintegrated.
The remaining warships, some unable to evade in time, were instantly flattened by the flagship in front of them.
"What kind of power is that?"
The powerful purple beam unleashed by Ronan shocked everyone in the command room.
Their faces were full of astonishment, not knowing what kind of power it was that could instantly destroy the defensive network formed by their fleet.
"Could it be that Ronan's warhammer has been upgraded and modified without our knowledge?"
Someone couldn't help but speculate, pointing to the reason for Ronan's weapon, the universal warhammer.
"No, although Ronan's warhammer can release energy attacks, it cannot be so powerful, let alone instantly destroy our warship defense network."
"And just now, that purple energy, I seem to have seen it in an ancient record!"
An elder, at this moment, put forward a different opinion, and his gaze towards Ronan was filled with shock and fear.
"What is it?"
Someone asked curiously.
"That is information about the cosmic gods billions of years ago."
"You see, on Ronan's weapon, there is a gem emitting purple light..."
As the old commander recalled, a hint of fear appeared on his face.
As if even recalling could make him feel an extremely intense fear.
"It's called the Power Stone, one of the six Infinity Stones in the universe, possessing infinite power..."
"The ancient gods once briefly held it and mastered that infinite power, destroying countless civilizations and countless planets..."
"Wait a minute, could it be that Ronan, regardless of the damage to the flagship, wants to land on Xandar and use this Power Stone to completely destroy our Xandar?"
As he spoke, the old commander seemed to finally understand something, his face full of disbelief.
"What? Use the Power Stone to completely destroy Xandar?"
"How is that possible?"
"No, absolutely impossible, how dare Ronan..."
Instantly, with this speculation, the entire command room fell into chaos.
Countless people could not accept this result, let alone the complete destruction of Xandar.
"Whether this speculation is true or not, we cannot let Ronan touch the ground of Xandar!"
The female supreme commander's face was solemn.
"Captain Sarell, it seems that Ronan seems to have the power to completely destroy Xandar, so no matter what, we must stop his warship from landing on Xandar."
"Even if it's a delay, we must delay until the moment the Nova Corps arrives!"
At this moment, although very reluctant, the commander had no other way.
"What? Ronan he..."
The surviving captain, didn't expect to receive such a terrifying message.
"Yes, commander, I will do my best to stop him, even if it costs my life!"
Immediately, he didn't hesitate or hesitate too much, and directly assured.
...
And then came the war, the most devastating in the history of Xandar.
Countless ships, survivors clinging to hope, stood as obstacles against the colossal mothership, engaging in a futile struggle.
But like a mantis trying to stop a chariot, the result was inevitable: ships destroyed, lives lost.
In the sky, ships burst, each explosion a testament to the demise of a vessel and the souls aboard.
Like stars, these vessels shone their brightest before fading into oblivion.
"Hmph, a nuisance, all of you!" Facing the relentless sacrifices of those determined to thwart his landing, Ronan's eyes dripped with contempt.
To him, they were merely making futile sacrifices.
Even if they troubled his descent, it wouldn't alter the inevitable outcome.
"Xandar, meet your end at my hands!" Watching the approaching ground, Ronan tightened his grip on the warhammer, excitement brimming on his face.
He was eager to use the power gem in his possession to obliterate the planet.
"We're finished, utterly finished!" As Ronan's mothership drew nearer, despair crept onto the faces of most in the command center.
They couldn't change Xandar's fate of utter destruction.
"Wait, look! What's that?" Suddenly, someone exclaimed, pointing to the sky, puzzling everyone.
Following their gaze, they were astonished to see, amidst Ronan's ships, another massive vessel.
"Damn, it's Thanos!" Seeing the sudden appearance of the colossal ship, even Ronan couldn't help but reveal a hint of fear, quickly concealed.
"Hmph, even if he's here, so what? I hold the Infinite Gem, with limitless power!" Ronan reassured himself, the purple glow of the power gem calming his frantic heart.
"You treacherous scum, Ronan. If you surrender the gem, I can plead with the mighty Thanos on your behalf, spare your life." Bathed in a beam of light, figures emerged in Ronan's ship, standing before him.
In the center, Ebony Maw spoke with icy calmness.
"Why hasn't the hypocrite Thanos come himself? Sending you lot of miscreants to your deaths!" Ronan's relief at not seeing Thanos vanished, replaced by intense anger.
"Even with you, there's no need for the great Thanos to act personally. Black Dwarf…" Ebony Maw didn't waste words, signaling Black Dwarf to act.
"Roar!" Black Dwarf roared, wielding his massive axe as he charged at Ronan.
"Hmph, taste the might of the Power Gem!" Ronan wasted no time, raising his warhammer.
In an instant, a purple beam shot out, striking Black Dwarf accurately.
Boom!
With a powerful impact, Black Dwarf's massive body was sent flying as if weightless, disappearing from view.
"The Power Gem, so terrifying!" Witnessing the scene, even Ebony Maw couldn't help but marvel at the gem's might.
"Ha-ha, after I finish you, I'll personally find Thanos and have him bury you all!" Bolstered by the gem's power, Ronan's confidence surged. He raised the gem high, a brilliant purple glow emanating from the warhammer.
"Die, Ronan!" Dark Aster brandished his spear, hurling it at Ronan with all his might.
Swish!
But just before it struck Ronan, he dodged.
"Hmph, it's you who will die!" Next moment, as Ronan aimed his hammer, a dazzling light erupted, seeming to obliterate everything before it.
Swish!
However, just as the smile on Ronan's face had yet to fade, he felt a sharp, chilling sensation behind him.
The spear he had dodged a moment ago seemed to have a will of its own, changing its trajectory and aiming directly at the location where the Power Gem was embedded.
"Annoying pests!" Ronan dodged again, but this time, the spear, defying all logic, altered its course once more, heading straight for the Power Gem.
"No!" With a desperate cry, Ronan reached out, intending to grab the Power Gem.
If it fell to the ground, the ship might be destroyed by its uncontrollable energy.
However, Ebony Maw wore a confident expression. With a graceful movement, he raised his hand, palm open.
In the next moment, an invisible force tore through the surface of the ship beneath Ronan's feet, forming chains that bound his body tightly, immobilizing him.
"The Power Gem is mine. You cannot take it!" With a determined gaze, Ebony Maw watched as the Power Gem floated toward him in the air.
...
"Great Lord Thanos, your most loyal servant has followed your instructions and successfully acquired the Power Stone."
"And now, this most supreme artifact of the universe is presented to you by my own hands!"
On Sanctuary II, Ebony Maw knelt on one knee, addressing Thanos seated upon his throne.
He then slowly raised his hand, presenting the gem emitting a purple glow to the towering figure of Thanos.
"Well done!" Watching the dazzling purple glow in the air, Thanos couldn't contain his excitement.
Before the Power Stone even reached him, he rose from his throne, reaching out to grasp it in his right hand.
Hum!
As Thanos gripped the Power Stone, a surge of violent energy erupted, forming a terrifying purple cyclone.
The terrifying energy flowed from Thanos's arm, spreading throughout his entire body.
Even with his mighty Titan physiology, Thanos struggled to fully withstand the ferocious power.
Starting from his arm, his skin began to tear under the onslaught of the raging energy.
"What a fascinating power!" However, Thanos seemed oblivious to the damage his arm suffered, slowly raising it to examine the Power Stone closely.
Then, he delicately placed it on a gem-encrusted slot on his left golden gauntlet.
Ding!
Accompanied by the crisp sound of the gem being set, a surge of immense power instantly merged with Thanos's body.
"Ah!" Even Thanos couldn't help but roar in agony at this moment, only then completely calming the violent power of the Power Stone.
"Congratulations, great Lord Thanos, your name will echo throughout the universe!"
As his subordinates offered respectful words, Thanos's cold gaze turned towards Ronan beside him.
"Thanos, no..."
Boom!
In Ronan's horrified gaze, countless cracks appeared on his body, a brilliant purple light suddenly flashing upon him.
Then, with a deafening explosion, he vanished completely into the cosmos!
"Lord Thanos, what's our next move..."
"According to the usual practice, eradicate half of Xandar's population, then..."
Thanos clenched his left hand, the sound of metal rubbing against metal sending shivers down everyone's spine.
"Change the fleet's course. Target: Earth!"
Beneath Thanos's icy gaze, the Power Stone embedded in the gauntlet shimmered with a dazzling purple light, like stars in the sky!
