[Genshin Impact] Chapter 99: The Windmill Flower Garden
🕑 Added 2024-03-13 18:16:20 +0000 UTC"Ice Mist Flower?"
Nolan had a pretty deep impression of this plant. In contrast to the Flame Flower, it harbored ice elements and liked to grow near water. If one wasn't careful while collecting it and ended up getting themselves wet, there was a high probability of being frozen by the cold air.
These were all lessons learned from Nolan's experience playing the original game.
The Ice Mist Flower's formidable cold air could even freeze oneself. As a means of self-protection, one needed to use flames to thaw it out in order to collect it.
This wasn't actually difficult because matches or a fire starter were essential for making fires in the wild.
Just find a few dry branches to light up and place them nearby to solve the problem.
On the contrary, ice blocks were not easy to carry because they would melt if left for too long. Generally speaking, adventurers exploring wouldn't bring such things, especially when encountering problems like water elemental ores that required ice elements to solve.
They would simply make a note of the location and figure out a solution later.
"Speaking of which, if I bring this flower into the water to mine, will I freeze myself and be unable to come out?"
Nolan looked at Fischl, who was presenting the Ice Mist Flower in front of him, with a somewhat helpless expression.
Although he didn't want to shirk responsibility, this matter was indeed a bit difficult for him.
After all, it was quite unbelievable to take the Ice Mist Flower, still emitting cold air, into the water. There was a danger of accidentally freezing oneself.
"Cough, it's the fault of this princess's lack of consideration." Fischl's fair face showed a slight blush, and she coughed awkwardly before turning to her attendant, Oz, and saying, "Oz, I'll leave this task to you!"
She didn't want to admit it, but she had become somewhat accustomed to relying on reliable attendants when encountering problems.
"No problem, miss."
Oz nodded and flew towards the water with the Ice Mist Flower in his claw. Since he didn't touch the water, there was no problem with the Ice Mist Flower, which was emitting cold air.
It just felt a bit chilly.
And because Oz could fly, he wouldn't get wet, so it was quite suitable for him to collect the water elemental ores.
Nolan watched as Oz grabbed the Ice Mist Flower and lightly touched the tip of a water elemental ore exposed on the surface of the water, originally appearing as a water-blue crystal.
Under the action of the cold air, it turned into a color similar to ice.
After about five or six seconds, the surface of the water elemental ore connected to the earth shattered like ice, and the core blue water elemental crystal fell into the water under the influence of gravity.
Oz easily grabbed it with his other claw, successfully collecting a piece of Hydro Elemental Ore.
There were a total of three hydro elemental ores in the water pool. With the Ice Mist Flower, Oz successfully collected them back and forth a few times.
"Miss, mission accomplished!"
After Night Raven Oz collected the three water elemental ores, everyone found that the water level in the pool began to slowly recede until it disappeared.
Then, with a "bang," a delicate treasure chest emerged.
Nolan's eyes lit up. So, were these water elemental ores part of a puzzle mechanism?
"Your Highness, let's see what luck you have!"
Treasure chests of the same level could open things that were largely different, but things like Primogems appeared randomly.
Nolan lacked a bit of confidence in his own luck, so handing it over to the dignified little Amy was a good choice.
Perhaps even the elusive "luck" would give the ruler of the Ashen Darkness, the Princess of Evernight Kingdom, some face!
"Well, since my reliable attendant says so, then leave it to this princess!"
Fischl stepped forward with her legs clad in mismatched black stockings, leaving imprints on the mud where the water had just receded.
She had just thought of squatting down to open the treasure chest when she suddenly realized that doing so would soil the hem of her skirt with the mud on the ground.
Although it was normal to get clothes dirty during adventures, it was easy to change them later.
But since it could be avoided, there was no need to make oneself uncomfortable.
"My ever-reliable attendant, come assist your princess. This dress woven from the Evernight Kingdom cannot be stained by such stubborn filth!"
Fischl lifted the hem of her skirt slightly with her hands, revealing her slightly concealed legs wrapped in black stockings under the skirt.
Turning her head with golden hair, her green eyes looked at Nolan with some trouble.
"Alright, as you command, Princess!"
Nolan smiled in accordance with Little Amy's character and replied, then stepped forward to take the hem of her skirt from her own hands.
The texture of the fabric was very soft, but it felt a bit chilly in this environment.
At this moment, a affection prompt from the system panel also popped up.
[Fischl Has Developed Good Feelings Towards You, Obtained 120 Affection Points. Current Affection Level Lv.7 (410/700)]
Although she didn't say it verbally and didn't show it during their interaction, Fischl actually quite liked Nolan.
After all, he was one of the few who understood her temperament and was willing to cooperate with her.
So, when Fischl developed a favorable impression of him, it was relatively easier for her.
Fischl bent down slightly, and the purple-black hem of her skirt automatically lifted in Nolan's hands, revealing the snow-white thighs wrapped in stockings.
"Click!"
The exquisite treasure chest was easily opened, and Nolan's gaze also glanced over Fischl's golden hair and snow-white shoulders to see what was inside the chest.
Surprisingly, the scene of glittering Mora was gone...
Even the Primogems that Nolan was looking forward to were not there. Instead, there was only a roll of yellowed paper. Even Oz, the night raven, looked slightly surprised and said:
"Oh, this situation is quite rare!"
Generally speaking, what could be found inside a treasure chest were Mora, artifacts, raw stones, and elemental imprints like the anemo sigils. It was uncommon for things unrelated to these to appear.
"But this rolled-up paper in the chest might be even more precious. Let's open it and see what it is."
Nolan speculated with a mindset that generally wouldn't go wrong.
"Haha, the attendant makes a valid point. Indeed, you are worthy of being this princess!"
Fischl took the rolled-up paper from the chest and stood up, her fair fingertips pinching the end of the scroll gently, causing the entire paper to unfold.
On the yellowed paper was a mountain picture, with a red circle drawn somewhere in the upper right corner marked as "Windmill Flower Garden," and then a long red dashed line extending down to the lower left corner marked as "Unnamed Mountain Cave."
"Oh? Is this a guide map from here to the 'Windmill Chrysanthemum(Flower) Garden'?" Oz pondered for a moment and said.
"I have a hunch that there must be treasure there!"
A smile appeared on Fischl's fair face, and her soft lips moved slightly as she spoke.
