[Superman] Chapter 101: Chaos in New York City
🕑 Added 2024-03-09 04:58:22 +0000 UTC"Director, it's bad, aliens have landed on Earth!"
In the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters in New York City, the door to Nick Fury's office was suddenly thrown open.
Agent Hill rushed in with a look of urgency, not even bothering to knock.
"I already know."
Nick Fury looked out the window at the huge ship breaking through the clouds, its ferocious appearance exuding a strong sense of oppression, his face filled with seriousness.
"Director, what should we do now?"
Seeing the Director, Hill's anxious expression finally eased, but he still asked with a serious tone.
"Can we contact Mr. Superman?"
"Sorry, Mr. Superman hasn't returned to Earth since he left a few days ago."
Hill said regretfully.
"In that case, we'll have to get through this crisis on our own!"
Nick Fury turned around slowly, looking at Hill with a serious expression.
"Help me establish contact with the newly formed Mutant Nation and the rebuilding Asgard."
After some contemplation, Nick Fury said without hesitation.
...
"General Executioner, we have arrived above a city on Earth. Should we initiate indiscriminate bombing immediately?"
As the ship broke through the clouds, the subordinates also consulted General Executioner.
"No, there's no need to bomb now."
"Why, General? With the weapons systems on our warship, we can completely destroy this city within ten minutes..."
The subordinate asked with a puzzled expression.
Although the warships sent to Earth at this time were not Thanos's flagship Sanctuary I, and the full force of Thanos's army had not been deployed, only bringing some of the Chitauri legions and Leviathan warships, as well as the vanguard legion's landing craft.
But the weapons systems and technology on the warship were still far superior to any country on Earth.
This number of legions was also enough to destroy the defense systems of any country on Earth in a short time.
"Too easy on them."
"What we need to do is conquer the entire Earth."
"I want every human on this planet to sink into intense fear."
"I want them to know that in the face of us, humans have only one choice, to wait for death to come in intense fear!"
General Executioner said slowly with a cruel expression.
"I understand, General, so what should we do now..."
Looking at General Executioner with a cruel expression, the subordinate couldn't help but feel a little fearful, but at this moment, he could only continue to ask with a stiff face.
"Hmph, have the Chitauri legions prepare to attack Earth. Let these insignificant humans experience the fear we bring!"
General Executioner ordered without hesitation to let the Chitauri army attack.
"But, remember to prepare for defense, activate the shield system to prevent Earth's counterattack."
"Don't forget, although the humans on this planet are weak, they still possess nuclear weapons that can threaten our warships."
Of course, although General Executioner was very confident, he was not reckless.
Faced with invasion, countries on Earth would definitely launch a crazy counterattack.
But under the influence of a huge technological gap, this civilization, which couldn't even leave its home planet, would ultimately not pose any threat to them if they were prepared.
Except for their trump card, nuclear bombs...
Of course, as long as they were prepared, even if nuclear bombs were launched, they could detect them and evacuate ahead of time.
"Yes, General!"
The subordinates left with the General Executioner's orders.
Meanwhile, General Executioner sat on the command seat, opened the virtual projection system, and looked at the city image below, a cruel smile appearing on his lips.
"Great Lord Thanos, even without that cunning fellow's assistance, as your most loyal servant, I can personally fulfill your orders!"
...
"An unexpected event, it's truly unbelievable. An unknown spacecraft from the universe suddenly appeared over New York City."
"Countless people in New York City are fleeing. Could it be that aliens are preparing to attack Earth?"
At this moment, it had been only a few minutes since General Executioner's army arrived on Earth.
However, this sudden event had already been reported by the media, instantly igniting the entire world.
Governments of numerous countries were urgently convening meetings to discuss how to face this spacecraft that suddenly appeared over Earth.
Especially the leading country, Beautiful Nation, was debating whether to launch an attack on the spacecraft over New York City.
"Mr. President, I suggest deploying the military immediately to enter New York City, evacuate the masses to prevent aliens from launching a sudden attack!"
"Additionally, send out the Air Force with the most advanced weapons to surround the spacecraft over New York City. We cannot let the future of humanity fall into the hands of aliens."
In the meeting, more radical military personnel were ready to engage in combat with aliens.
"No, Mr. President, we absolutely cannot do this. We don't know the intentions of the aliens who have come to Earth. We must not recklessly launch an attack, or we will become the culprits who initiate a war between humans and aliens."
"What we should do now is send out linguists and negotiation experts to establish contact with the aliens and understand their intentions in coming to Earth."
"If we can cooperate with them, perhaps, this is an opportunity for our country to soar..."
Of course, there were also conservatives attempting to communicate and establish contact with aliens, even seeking cooperation.
"The aliens' warships are right above our heads, obviously preparing for war against us. Communicate? What a joke!"
Some people seemed to have already discerned the aliens' intentions, intending to wage war.
"Connect me with the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. I want to hear his opinion."
"Also, make every effort to contact Mr. Superman as soon as possible..."
The President pondered the words of others with a solemn expression. In his position, any decision couldn't be made lightly.
"Mr. President, hello!"
Soon, Nick Fury's face appeared on the video.
"Director Fury, we don't need to be polite now."
"I want to know, regarding the sudden appearance of the alien spacecraft over New York, what is the opinion and suggestion of your S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
The President quickly spoke with a serious expression.
"Mr. President, I don't advocate for actively starting a war..."
Nick Fury stated his suggestion, but after a pause, he continued.
"But I also don't oppose preparing for war. After all..."
Boom!
However, before Nick Fury could finish speaking, a strong explosion sounded, reaching Nick Fury's ears.
"Sorry, Mr. President, it seems we have no choice but to fight now!"
...
Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh... Boom, boom, boom!
"Run! Aliens are invading!"
At this moment, in just a few minutes, the entire New York City descended into immense chaos.
On the massive alien spacecraft in the sky, numerous extraterrestrial figures continuously flew out like a beehive, each riding a flying apparatus.
Wielding unique weapons, they launched attacks on the city and the crowds below.
The damage caused by these advanced alien weapons was much more devastating than conventional firearms.
In just a few minutes, the streets and skyscrapers of the entire New York City turned into a sea of flames.
Without military forces stationed in New York City, it relied solely on police and some armed civilians who couldn't form a cohesive defense.
Countless civilians wailed and screamed, attempting to escape this hellish city.
"Darn it, if only I had left this dangerous city with my friend the last time!"
Someone hiding in a secluded alley shivered, filled with regret.
Suddenly, he was spotted by a Chitauri alien flying in the sky. Wielding a peculiar weapon, the alien zoomed towards him, taking aim.
"No! Don't!"
The pedestrian, terror-stricken, clutched his head and screamed, forgetting even to escape, waiting for the impending death.
Bang!
Suddenly, a loud noise echoed, startling his entire body.
"What's going on? I seem to be alive?"
After a while, he gradually regained his senses, only to discover that the alien who had just charged towards him was now lying on the ground not far away.
A familiar figure was swinging away with webs, heading into the distance.
"Thank goodness, it's Spider-Woman!"
...
"Damn it, why does New York always face such serious crises?"
At this moment, even Gwen couldn't help but complain.
New York City was just too dangerous.
It seemed like there was a minor disaster every three days and a major one every few weeks.
As Spider-Woman, she couldn't have a single peaceful day.
Although she thought this in her heart, she still rushed over without hesitation, using her own body to stop the alien invasion.
"Damn it, there are too many aliens!"
Boom!
Gwen punched away a Chitauri who was flying towards her from the sky. Looking at the densely packed aliens pouring out of the spacecraft like a swarm of bees, she couldn't help but feel her scalp tingle.
With so many aliens, she couldn't possibly protect this city on her own.
Unless that guy...
Unfortunately, he wasn't here right now.
"Forget it, I'll rely on myself."
Gwen stopped hesitating and shot out her webs, then leaped up and kicked another Chitauri directly off their flying apparatus.
Bang, bang, bang!
With her immense strength and keen spider-sense, Gwen could easily take down individual Chitauri in the air.
In just a few minutes, she had taken out dozens of Chitauri.
But soon, she was spotted by a group of Chitauri who began approaching her.
Biu, biu, biu...
As they closed in on her, they also continuously fired shining lasers from their weapons.
"Damn it!"
Facing the siege, Gwen could only rely on her sharp senses and agile body to continuously dodge attacks.
However, there were simply too many opponents, and she was afraid she wouldn't be able to hold out for long.
Just as Gwen felt overwhelmed...
Suddenly, a car flew in from another direction.
It accurately smashed into one of the Chitauri in the air.
"A good opportunity!"
The sudden turn of events also caught the attention of other Chitauri.
Seizing this opportunity, Gwen shot out her webs without hesitation and stuck to one of the Chitauri.
Then, she swiftly pulled on the web, slamming the Chitauri into the others.
Bang, bang, bang!
The squad of Chitauri was quickly taken care of.
The next moment, a figure clad in a red Spider-Man suit swung down from a distance, landing in front of Gwen with webs trailing behind.
"Thanks."
Looking at the other Spider-Man just like herself, Gwen expressed her gratitude.
"No need to thank me. Let's continue to protect this lovely city."
Peter Parker from another universe had a solemn expression and didn't say much. He shot out his webs again and charged towards other Chitauri invading the city.
"Don't underestimate me!"
As fellow Spider-People, Gwen refused to be outdone and followed suit, charging towards the Chitauri alongside him.
...
Bang, bang, bang!
Outside the SHIELD headquarters in New York City, countless SHIELD agents formed a defensive line, engaging in combat with the Chitauri in the sky.
Nick Fury and Maria Hill were among them, personally joining the battle, wielding pistols and continuously firing at the Chitauri in the air.
"Hill, when will our reinforcements arrive?"
After emptying a magazine, Nick Fury took cover behind a barricade, quickly reloading his weapon while loudly asking Hill.
"The special forces are on their way. They're carrying the latest weapons, as you instructed, and the captain is with them."
"And what about Hawkeye and Natasha?"
While continuing to fire, Nick Fury continued to inquire.
"They arrived a few minutes ago, piloting their jets."
"No, that's not enough. Keep informing others and have the helicarriers in the ocean activated to come to our aid."
Watching the densely packed Chitauri army in the sky, Nick Fury finally decided to unleash his trump card, the helicarriers.
"Understood... Wait, Director, look, what's that?"
Suddenly, a peculiar-shaped aircraft streaked across the sky above them.
What was even more shocking was that wherever the aircraft passed, all the Chitauri around seemed to lose control of their bodies, being directly crushed by some special force.
Disgusting slime even splattered onto Nick Fury.
"Is that... the X-Men?"
"They finally arrived!"
Nick Fury's extremely solemn expression finally eased at this moment.
"Director, is that the X-Men squad formed after the establishment of the Mutant Nation?"
Hill's face was also filled with excitement as she looked at the swiftly flying aircraft, her eyes showing a glimmer of hope.
"Yes, whether mutant or human, we all have a common enemy now!"
"At this moment, we need to unite all the forces on Earth!"
Staring at the massive alien spaceship in the distant sky, Nick Fury's face was firm.
Click!
Suddenly, the entire sky darkened, covered by thick black clouds.
A thunderous roar echoed.
Several lightning bolts struck down from the sky, instantly smashing hundreds of Chitauri into pieces.
"Is that... Thor, the God of Thunder from Asgard?"
Agent Hill and the other SHIELD agents looked at the dazzling thunderbolt that suddenly appeared before them, their eyes filled with disbelief.
"Yes, the once Asgardian gods are now our allies."
At this moment, Nick Fury suddenly felt very fortunate.
If the aliens had chosen to invade Earth just one month earlier, he would have had a hard time finding so many powerful allies.
"Director, will we win this war?"
At this moment, everyone couldn't help but look towards the distance, their eyes shimmering with strong hope.
"Of course, Earth is not easy to mess with!"
Nick Fury answered without hesitation, his face filled with confidence.
