[Superman] Chapter 98: The Ambition to Create a Phoenix Force Detector
🕑 Added 2024-03-06 18:08:26 +0000 UTC"Quick, look! What is that? It seems to have turned into a strange bird."
Within the space station, many people also noticed the phoenix shadow within the cosmic storm and couldn't help but feel incredibly shocked.
"This definitely isn't a simple cosmic storm... There's definitely some cosmic secret hidden within it..."
At this moment, Reed's expression became incredibly solemn. As someone who had been studying cosmic storms, he instantly realized that this was no ordinary cosmic storm. There must be some unknown entity hidden within it.
Outside the space station, watching the cosmic storm transform into the shape of a phoenix and seemingly possess a faint consciousness, even Peter, as Superman, found it hard to remain calm.
At this moment, although it couldn't be fully confirmed, Peter speculated that this cosmic storm most likely was one of the three mysterious special energies in the Marvel Universe - the Phoenix Force.
How powerful is the Phoenix Force?
In the comics, it is born at the dawn of creation, chaotic yet immortal, eternal yet unpredictable. It is the embodiment of life and psychic power in the primordial universe, symbolizing life and emotions.
It is the most formidable existence in the multiverse. Its passion can be transformed into the judgment of the Phoenix for the rebirth or destruction of everything in the universe, even the universe itself.
In short, the complete Phoenix Force is incredibly powerful, powerful enough to even destroy the multiverse.
Even though the Phoenix Force is difficult to manifest in its entirety, usually existing only as a small fragment in each individual universe, this was enough to make Peter incredibly excited.
"This universe originally doesn't have mutants, so the Phoenix Force hasn't found its host yet, right?"
Thinking about the special nature of the universe he traversed, where mutants don't exist, the Phoenix Force at this moment should still be without a host.
In other words, there's a possibility for Peter to become the host of this Phoenix Force.
"If that's the case, then we can't let it escape."
Watching the cosmic storm transform into a phoenix shadow, bursting with dazzling golden energy and struggling to break free, Peter's expression gradually became serious. Under the eruption of his powerful biological stance, the palm he transformed gradually tightened, continuously compressing the volume of this energy.
Although it was the powerful Phoenix Force within the universe, ultimately, due to the lack of a host to control it, relying solely on its somewhat dim and weak consciousness, it couldn't unleash its full power.
Finally, under the compression of Peter's powerful biological stance, the phoenix shadow formed by the cosmic storm shattered with a sharp cry.
And the cosmic storm finally ceased its strong resistance and struggle. Under the compression of the powerful stance, it transformed into a mass of energy emitting an even more intense golden light.
"Get ready to receive the cosmic storm."
Suddenly, inside the space station, Reed, looking at the scene before him with a shocked face, heard Peter's voice next to him.
Without hesitation, he shouted, "Quick, retract the protective shield and open the special container to contain the cosmic storm."
Under Reed's command, the protective shield enveloping the entire space station gradually dissipated. And on a module of the space station, a special door was successfully opened.
Controlling the giant hand transformed from the biological stance, Peter directly placed the captured cosmic storm into the opened door.
"Great, we did it!"
With the successful completion of the capture plan, everyone present instantly cheered.
Successfully capturing the cosmic storm was an achievement that no human had ever achieved before.
And the study of this mysterious cosmic storm would undoubtedly lead to significant advancements in Earth's technology, and even in the origins of humanity and the universe.
"So this is the captured cosmic storm?"
Amidst the excited cheers of everyone, Reed, also deeply intoxicated, looked at the constantly twisting and changing golden cosmic storm within the special container made of magnetic field protective shields.
"Quick, conduct a detailed analysis of the structure of this cosmic storm. We need to figure out what's contained within it as quickly as possible!"
The next moment, Reed eagerly issued instructions to analyze the composition of the cosmic storm's energy.
Everything he did was for this glorious moment.
......
"How is it? Is everything with that cosmic storm normal?"
Soon, Peter returned to the space station from outside.
Looking at Reed, who was full of anticipation, he slowly asked.
"Mr. Superman, it's truly incredible that you actually managed to..."
Reed's face was full of excitement.
"Don't waste time, what's the situation now?"
At this moment, Peter was still somewhat worried. If it were just an ordinary cosmic storm, he believed that the special container capable of withstanding a light punch from himself could contain the cosmic storm.
But now that he learned that the cosmic storm was highly likely to be the Phoenix Force, Peter couldn't help but feel concerned.
"Mr. Superman, everything is normal. The cosmic storm seems very docile at the moment, without showing any signs of the intense struggle from earlier."
"I'm currently having the artificial intelligence conduct a detailed analysis of its composition. It's estimated that it will take a dozen or so hours to reach a conclusion."
Reed also noticed Peter's concerns.
After all, he had witnessed the cosmic storm transforming into a phoenix shadow and erupting with powerful energy just now.
"In that case, let's continue with the composition analysis."
"However, no matter what, we must ensure the safety of everyone here as much as possible."
"And, isolate the container that confines the cosmic storm separately, seal the doors. Without my orders, no one is allowed to approach it."
In fact, Peter also wanted to see if Reed could successfully analyze the uniqueness of this cosmic storm.
After all, with Reed's genius intellect, Peter believed he could definitely make some progress in his research.
As for whether they could explore the secret of immortality for humanity within it, that wasn't what Peter valued.
What Peter truly valued was whether Reed could analyze the composition structure of the Phoenix Force.
So, could they find other fragments of the Phoenix Force based on this?
If it was possible, Peter was even willing to travel to other universes in search of other fragments of the Phoenix Force...
......
Over the next few hours, all the researchers were busy.
With the assistance of artificial intelligence, they were diligently analyzing the detailed composition structure of this special cosmic storm.
Meanwhile, Peter went to a separate room to take a break.
Of course, even though he was resting, Peter remained vigilant about the situation within the space station.
Given Reed's knack for getting into trouble and the possibility of someone else in the space station having ulterior motives, Peter couldn't fully trust anyone.
Money corrupts people's hearts.
Peter found it hard to guarantee that others wouldn't have other thoughts when faced with humanity's first captured cosmic storm.
Finally, after more than a dozen hours had passed,
"Report, the composition structure of the cosmic storm has been analyzed."
Just as some people had been working continuously for over a dozen hours and were starting to feel drowsy,
A voice instantly lifted everyone's spirits.
"Great, it's finally done..."
Reed ran directly to the huge screen and began to check the analysis results from the artificial intelligence.
"This... it's actually like this. Within this cosmic storm, it seems that there's some kind of special energy hidden..."
"The results are out? How is it?"
Just as Reed was feeling immensely shocked while looking at the analysis results, Peter's voice suddenly came.
"Mr. Superman, this is truly incredible!"
"After the artificial intelligence analysis, it's indeed a genuine cosmic storm, containing intense cosmic radiation and various types of rays, probably originating over billions of years ago."
"Its composition structure, besides all the elements known to us humans, also includes countless unknown special elements."
"And, more importantly, within this ancient cosmic storm, there's a unique energy structure."
"And the time when this special energy was born is even older than this cosmic storm itself."
"It's as if it's as ancient as the entire universe, existing since the birth of the universe..."
"With our current technology, we can't possibly analyze how that energy structure is formed and born."
"But what we can be certain of is that this special energy didn't merge with this cosmic storm from the beginning of its birth. Instead, it merged under some circumstances after existing for countless years, forming the special cosmic storm that we see now."
Reed excitedly explained the composition of this cosmic storm.
"And it's this special energy that grants this cosmic storm incredibly powerful abilities."
"It can not only destroy all the known cosmic materials."
"But it also has the powerful ability to create matter, breaking down or reconstructing molecular forms from smaller than molecular levels, whether it's non-living objects or living beings with life and consciousness..."
"In simple terms, if utilized properly, it can completely pulverize a human being, then reconstruct the structure, turning them into a piece of gold, or turn gold into feces..."
"It can even destroy an entire planet..."
"Perhaps my previous speculation was correct, the origin of humanity and the entire universe may be related to this mysterious energy..."
"This is truly the greatest discovery... it's unbelievable, too unbelievable!"
It was evident that Reed was behaving somewhat crazily at this moment.
He kept muttering about how unbelievable it was.
"It seems that the special energy within the cosmic storm should be the famous Phoenix Force..."
At this moment, Peter was completely certain of the existence of the Phoenix Force.
"So, if given enough time, can you analyze some characteristics of that energy, then rely on those characteristics to create a detector that can detect other similar origin energy with the same characteristics?"
Ignoring Reed's immense excitement, Peter slowly asked.
"This... I'm afraid..."
Clever Reed instantly understood Peter's current thoughts.
With a detector, they could find more origin energy similar to it.
But at this moment, even though Reed was the smartest person in the Marvel Universe, he didn't dare to guarantee that he could do it.
"It's okay, take some time to try. If it really doesn't work..."
Peter's voice suddenly stopped.
If this idea really couldn't be realized, he could only try to merge with this Phoenix Force himself.
