[Superman] Chapter 95: Thor Incarnated as a Giant, Cosmic Storm Approaching (2-in-1 Chapter)
🕑 Added 2024-03-03 07:43:46 +0000 UTCThe enormous crisis engulfing the entire universe has finally come to an end.
Peter has safeguarded the reality of the entire universe, truly embodying the role of a universal "superhero."
However, the trivial matters after the crisis naturally don't require Peter's attention. Taking advantage of the time when the Golden Superman Experience Card is still valid, he unhesitatingly leaves Earth and heads towards the sun.
In fact, compared to the crisis of universal destruction, these trivial matters after the crisis are equally troublesome.
Because before another universe was destroyed, some people had already arrived in Peter's universe.
Just as Doctor Strange mentioned before disappearing, they were lucky. They chose the only chance to continue surviving.
These universe "crossers" caused Earth to plunge into chaos for a long time.
It also kept S.H.I.E.L.D. extremely busy.
Countless S.H.I.E.L.D. senior and ordinary agents, as well as non-staff members, whether on vacation or retired, were all summoned back to deal with this special chaos.
"Director, after the universal crisis was completely resolved by Mr. Superman, there have been migrants from another universe appearing all over the world."
"After some investigation, we found that among these migrants, only a small number are ordinary humans like us."
"And the vast majority of them are superhumans with special abilities."
Hill, looking exhausted, came to the director's office to report the investigation results just obtained.
This universal crisis made everyone realize that they are not alone.
The new universal reality directly slapped all scientists and ordinary people in the face, confirming the theory of multiverse and parallel universes.
At the same time, it made everyone realize that they not only need to guard against crises within Earth and from outside Earth in this universe but also worry about crises brought by other universes outside this universe.
'Superman, do you have any new instructions or actions regarding these migrants from another universe?'
At this moment, Nick Fury's first consideration was not those migrants but Superman's attitude.
After all, after this incident, everyone also understood that it's not just Earth. Even the entire universe, under Superman's intent to destroy it, can be completely destroyed.
"Mr. Superman has hardly appeared since he resolved the crisis a few days ago. It seems he has left Earth... reportedly went near the sun..."
Hill answered slowly, of course, this was all their speculation.
"Well, since Mr. Superman doesn't have any new instructions..."
Nick Fury pondered for a moment before continuing slowly.
"Inform the United Nations to convene a symposium as soon as possible to discuss how to handle these universe migrants. In addition, establish universal immigration offices in various countries around the world to temporarily issue universal residence permits for these migrants and conduct statistical work..."
If it were Earth's local migrants, under normal circumstances, they would be detained and repatriated to their home countries.
But these are migrants from another universe. We can't simply send them back to their original universe.
Moreover, their original universe has already been shattered.
"Understood, Director."
Hill noted Nick Fury's words and couldn't help but speak up again.
"What if those superpowered mutants refuse to comply and cause chaos in our universe?"
Hill was worried. After all, those superpowered individuals, who call themselves mutants, often engage in wars with humans in their original universe.
Now that they have come to another universe, they might not easily follow orders.
"Hmph, giving them the right to temporary residence is already accommodating enough. If anyone dares to resist and cause chaos..."
"Then we'll just arrest them and put them in a special prison. Besides, we can use this opportunity to legitimately study their so-called mutant abilities..."
A hint of ruthlessness flashed across Nick Fury's face.
As the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he was never an absolute saint.
Moreover, the situation at hand was special. They were dealing with migrants from another universe.
"Understood, Director. But if we do that, our people may not be able to avoid some casualties..."
Hill, too, was not devoid of a hardline approach towards those who refuse to comply. However, she was concerned that even elite agents would struggle against those mutants with special abilities.
"This is indeed a problem. Notify the research team to produce equipment capable of suppressing those mutants' special abilities as soon as possible."
"However, until we have research results..."
At this point, Nick Fury seemed somewhat hesitant, but his expression quickly became resolute.
"We have made some progress in our research on the Cosmic Cube. It's a good opportunity to test the weapons made using the Cosmic Cube and see if they are powerful enough!"
"Director, are you sure you want to disclose the results of the second phase of the Cosmic Cube research?"
Studying the Cosmic Cube, an almost infinite source of energy, was one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s most classified projects.
Now, Nick Fury's decision undoubtedly exposed this project.
"Hmph, special circumstances call for special measures."
Nick Fury snorted coldly. After experiencing the crisis of universal destruction, he understood that sometimes hiding one's strength was of no use.
"Understood, Director. I'll make arrangements immediately."
Although Hill was surprised by Nick Fury's decision, she still followed his instructions diligently.
Buzz...
However, just as Hill was about to leave the director's office, her phone vibrated again.
"Go ahead!"
As the phone rang, Nick Fury's face darkened slightly, but he still spoke without any hesitation.
"Hello, this is Hill... What? The migrants want to establish their own country? Understood, I'll inform the director immediately."
After the call ended, a solemn expression appeared on Hill's face as she reported to Nick Fury.
"Reporting to the Director, the latest information we received is that a massive island has suddenly appeared in the Pacific Ocean. It seems to be the work of a powerful mutant among the migrants, who can manipulate magnetic fields..."
"They even declared to the whole world that they intend to establish a nation for mutants there..."
Hill said this with a shocked expression, but suddenly stopped abruptly. Then, her expression changed, revealing a friendly smile.
"Who are you? What have you done to Agent Hill?"
Nick Fury, being shrewd as he was, instantly noticed Hill's unusual behavior and unhesitatingly drew his gun, aiming it at the person in front of him.
"Mr. Nick Fury, please calm down. She's fine. I've just temporarily borrowed her body and mind to talk to you about some matters..."
The voice of Agent Hill suddenly turned into a male voice full of magnetism.
"What do you want to talk about?"
Facing this eerie situation, Nick Fury surprisingly eased up his vigilance, slowly lowering his gun, and then asked solemnly.
"Let's talk about the upcoming establishment of the mutant nation, about Krakoa..."
...
Next, it's unknown how they exactly conversed.
In any case, they seemed to have eventually reached some agreement.
"Director, what just happened to me..."
As the control over Hill's consciousness left, she instantly returned to normal, albeit wearing a bewildered expression.
"It's nothing. You can go now and follow my instructions."
Nick Fury didn't reveal what had just happened.
"Understood, Director!"
Although she still felt very puzzled inside and sensed that she had lost a segment of memory, Hill ultimately didn't inquire further.
"By the way, regarding the mutant nation matter, let's not intervene."
Before Agent Hill left, Nick Fury suddenly spoke up again.
"Understood..."
As Hill left the office, silence fell within.
Nick Fury seemed to be contemplating something.
"Heh, not long after agreeing to the Asgardians' request to establish their own kingdom on Earth, now there's another mutant race from another universe wanting to establish their own nation on Earth."
"Magneto, Professor X, powerful mutants..."
"What's happening to this universe, to this Earth?"
At this moment, even Nick Fury couldn't help but feel skeptical. Was their Earth the center of the entire universe?
On the other hand, following the discussion with Nick Fury, the Asgardians who were about to immigrate to Earth, under Thor's command, were fully preparing for the migration.
The crisis that had swept through the entire universe seemed to have spared Asgard alone from the fate of being engulfed by darkness.
The reason might be that Asgard in another universe had already been destroyed...
Therefore, they were not affected by the universal crisis, and everything was operating as usual.
Finally, several days later, all the cosmic ships carrying the Asgardian people took off one after another.
Under the sorrowful gaze of all the Asgardian people, they gradually left the homeland where they had lived for countless years.
"Mother, rest assured, the sunlight of the sun will eventually shine upon our new Asgard, and Father's spirit will bless us."
Thor looked at the scene of the Asgardian people, representing hope, leaving on the spacecraft, his eyes full of reluctance yet firm determination.
"Thor, you've grown up and finally have the qualifications to inherit your father's throne..."
Frigga looked at Thor with a hint of satisfaction in her eyes.
Now, Thor was the qualified King of Asgard that Odin had hoped for.
"Unfortunately, I understand this a bit too late..."
Thor looked regretful. He no longer had the chance to gain his father's true approval.
"Mother, you and Heimdall should leave as soon as possible too. I'll take care of the things to come myself..."
After bidding farewell to his mother and the other Asgardians.
Thor arrived at the treasury, standing before the Eternal Flame, the only special treasure that hadn't been taken away.
Gazing at the intensely burning Eternal Flame, which had almost never been extinguished, a hint of hesitation appeared on Thor's face.
However, considering that all the people of Asgard had already left, Thor's expression gradually became firm. He had a reason to do what he was about to do.
After all, if Hela were allowed to continue growing stronger, the threat wouldn't just be to the people of Asgard but also to the Nine Realms and the entire universe.
In the next moment, with a determined expression, Thor directly placed his axe into the Eternal Flame.
Humming...
As the axe was placed into the Eternal Flame, the crimson patterns on the axe seemed to be instantly activated, pulsating violently like a heartbeat.
Immediately, a strange sensation flowed into Thor's body through the axe, enveloping his entire being in intense crimson flames.
And Thor's consciousness was tainted by a strong sense of destruction, his gaze filled with ferocity and brutality.
"Is this... Surtur's consciousness?"
Feeling this intense sense of destruction, Thor no longer suppressed the ferocity and brutality within him, letting it completely take over his consciousness.
Roar!
In the next moment, accompanied by a beast-like roar, Thor's entire body began to rapidly expand, bursting open the Asgardian treasury.
Soon, he transformed into a towering fire giant, standing in Asgardian territory, beneath the Asgardian sky.
With a crimson axe in hand, his face twisted with savagery and ferocity.
It was as if his only belief at this moment was destruction.
In the next moment, the colossal Thor, without hesitation, raised his axe and brought it down heavily on the empty Asgard.
"No!"
Suddenly, a voice full of anger echoed throughout Asgard, and a massive black pillar suddenly rose from the ground, charging directly at the giant incarnation of Thor.
...
Just as the twilight of the gods of Asgard unfolded, Peter, who had just saved the entire universe, was currently within the core of the sun, ignoring the temperature of over tens of millions of degrees.
He was continuously absorbing vast amounts of energy from the sun's core.
"Ultimately, it's still difficult to take that crucial step."
Having stayed in the sun's core for over a dozen days, Peter's entire body had turned golden.
From the outside, there was almost no difference compared to before.
But in fact, Peter could feel that after the sensation of perceiving everything in the universe disappeared, apart from absorbing tremendous energy and greatly enhancing his strength, he could no longer enter that unique state.
No matter what, he couldn't achieve that special feeling of consciousness transcending dimensions and even the universe like before.
"Perhaps my power of consciousness is still not strong enough."
Peter also gave up on the idea of successfully breaking through the golden Superman's time limit.
His entire body suddenly turned into a golden stream of light, rushing out of the sun's core, almost teleporting back to Earth's surface.
Because, at this moment, there were other things that needed his attention.
"Mr. Superman, you're back!"
As Peter returned to the space station in Earth's orbit,
Reed, who was busy, immediately put down everything and greeted him.
"How is it going? Is everything ready?"
Peter asked slowly.
"After calculation, there are still 45 hours and 32 minutes until that cosmic storm passes by Earth."
"And we have made all the preparations, including the special facility to contain the cosmic storm after you capture it."
"We're just waiting for the cosmic storm to arrive to launch our cosmic storm capture plan."
Reed was excited, as if he couldn't wait.
Before, he doubted whether Peter had the ability to capture the cosmic storm.
But after the last universal crisis, no one doubted anymore. Peter could do anything!
