[Superman] Chapter 92: Using the Cosmic Barrier as a Shield to Merge the Universe!
🕑 Added 2024-03-03 06:13:16 +0000 UTC"You... How can this be happening so quickly?"
As the scene before them changed, in a dimension beyond reality, Peter and the Ancient One successfully met Doctor Strange.
At this moment, he was holding a ancient book emitting a strong dark aura, floating in the air, seemingly casting some powerful magic.
Seeing Peter and the Ancient One suddenly appear, he was filled with surprise.
"Ancient One, you... You're still alive?"
"Indeed, I'm still alive."
In fact, even the Ancient One herself was extremely surprised at this moment.
Because in the future visions she had observed before, her last moments were supposed to be during Dormammu's invasion and the appearance of Doctor Strange from another universe.
She was supposed to sacrifice her life for the sake of the entire universe's reality, to prevent Dormammu's invasion and buy time for Superman to find Doctor Strange.
But now, it seemed that the development of events had already exceeded the future she had known.
Not only did she not die from stopping Dormammu's invasion,
but even the entire Dark Dimension, including Dormammu himself, had completely disappeared, annihilated under Peter's immense power.
"No wonder the future timelines became so blurry after his appearance."
The Ancient One looked at Peter, bathed in golden light, with a hint of amazement in her eyes.
His power was so great that it could break the rules of the timeline and influence the future to such an extent.
This was something that even true gods found difficult to achieve...
"Hmph, even if you're alive, it won't change the fact that this universe will be consumed."
Seeing the sudden appearance of the two, interrupting his normal magic casting.
Doctor Strange's expression suddenly became resolute.
The darkhold in his hand was suddenly thrown into the air.
Immediately, it released its immensely terrifying dark energy, transforming into black tendrils that entwined around the divine book in the air.
The next moment, terrifying dark energy continuously emanated from his body, flowing along the dozen or so tendrils towards the divine book.
Swish!
With the divine book absorbing sufficient dark energy, a dense dark aura suddenly burst forth, almost shrouding the entire dimensional space.
However, it wasn't just the dimensional space that was affected by the divine book.
The dense dark energy traversed through spatial dimensions, directly affecting the real world.
With the crack in the sky that covered the horizon of the Dark Dimension suddenly disappearing.
Before the humans on Earth could erupt in cheers, they were surprised to find the sky shrouded in another strong dark aura.
And this time, it was even more terrifying than before.
Because this dark aura not only enveloped the Earth, but had already shrouded the entire universe.
What's even more terrifying is that they seemed to see another version of themselves in the darkness.
...
"Strange, stop it! If you continue, you will completely drain your life and soul..."
Seeing Doctor Strange's current actions, even the Ancient One's face changed instantly.
Doctor Strange was actually using his own life force to cast this terrifying dark magic.
"Hmph! As long as I can save my universe's reality, even if it means exhausting my life and soul, forever plunging into the depths of darkness."
Because he kept injecting life energy into the darkhold, Doctor Strange's face was visibly aging at a visible rate.
In just a few seconds, his hair had already started to turn white.
His entire being seemed to age ten years in an instant.
"Stephen, I admire everything you've done for your universe."
Peter suddenly spoke, unexpectedly affirming Doctor Strange's actions.
"If it were me, facing the imminent destruction of my universe's reality, I might do the same as you, willing to pay any price to save my universe's reality, and perhaps even more crazily."
"Don't talk about destroying a multiverse, even if it means destroying all multiverses, I would not hesitate."
As Peter spoke slowly, both Doctor Strange and the Ancient One couldn't help but look at him with astonishment.
"But unfortunately, your current actions threaten my universe."
As Peter spoke, he slowly floated up, gradually approaching Doctor Strange who was casting magic.
"So, I'm sorry..."
With Peter's words filled with remorse, he suddenly clenched his fist and then, with the terrifying power capable of effortlessly destroying planets, fiercely struck Doctor Strange who was casting magic.
However, this punch, which could destroy a planet and almost obliterate anyone it hit, was unexpectedly blocked by some kind of special barrier before hitting Doctor Strange's body.
Boom! Crack!
With a terrifying collision sound suddenly exploding.
The tremendous impact formed even shattered the surrounding dimensional space in an instant.
"Huh? What's this..."
With Peter's somewhat surprised gaze.
He suddenly found that a strange red barrier was slowly appearing around Doctor Strange.
Overall, it looked like a near-spherical shape composed of hexagonal prisms.
His punch, capable of destroying planets, was successfully blocked by this hexagonal red semi-transparent spherical barrier.
"Hahaha..."
"Mr. Superman, are you very shocked? Do you find it unbelievable?"
Looking at Peter's somewhat astonished expression, Doctor Strange suddenly burst into laughter.
"Since I've made preparations to protect my universe's reality even at the cost of my life, how could I not make full preparations?"
"This shield enveloping me is actually not magic."
Looking at the hexagonal sphere glowing with red light, completely enveloping himself, Doctor Strange's expression gradually became serious.
"Instead, it's my universe's reality."
"Before coming to your universe, I had already fused myself with our universe."
...
"It really is a whole universe."
Looking at the somewhat familiar hexagonal sphere, Peter actually had a guess in his heart long ago.
After all, there weren't many things that could withstand his punch.
But with Doctor Strange admitting it himself, Peter couldn't help but feel very surprised.
This Doctor Strange was really steady and crazy enough; to achieve his goal, he had actually prepared a whole universe as his shield.
"Haha, are you stunned?"
"With the protection of an entire universe, unless you're strong enough to destroy a whole multiverse with one punch, otherwise, you will never break through this barrier formed by the cosmic barrier."
"Of course, that's an impossible thing to happen; destroying the reality of an entire universe is something that not even true gods can do."
At this moment, the already incredibly aged Doctor Strange gazed down at the Earth with a crazed look in his eyes.
"So, you better quietly wait for my magic to finish releasing. By then, everything in this universe will be completely consumed by my universe."
"However, during the process of universe fusion, although countless people and creatures in your universe will lose their lives."
"But your strength is relatively strong, so you should be able to withstand the process of universe fusion and have the opportunity to continue living in the new universe with a new identity."
"For you, this can also be considered a kind of blessing."
Once a guardian of the universe, Doctor Strange naturally didn't want to reach this point if there were other possibilities.
But now, he had no possibility of regret or giving up.
"Of course, you can also continue to try to break through this cosmic barrier, because doing so will let you know how great the difficulties you're facing are."
"Oh, by the way, let me remind you, even if you do have enough power to break through this cosmic barrier."
"But the immense energy generated when the universe perishes will ultimately destroy the reality of your own universe."
"So, faced with this situation, how will you choose?"
After giving Peter a final glance, Doctor Strange slowly closed his eyes, focusing on integrating the energy into himself from the dark divine book, releasing this terrifying magic capable of fusing universes.
Even if it meant his own life.
However, even with such a huge cost, as long as he could save his universe, he would not regret it at all.
...
"Is what he said true?"
Peter returned to the Ancient One's side and asked in a deep voice.
"What he said is correct. That barrier is indeed formed by an entire universe, and it's almost impossible to break through."
"Even if I use the Time Stone now, I cannot reset the time around Strange, which is enveloped in another universe..."
The Ancient One answered slowly with a solemn expression.
Faced with such a dilemma, even the Ancient One had no solution.
"I mean, if we really break it, will powerful forces really destroy our universe, as he said?"
Peter continued to ask.
"What?"
The Ancient One looked at Peter in shock.
"Are you really able to break through this barrier?"
She felt incredulous, wondering just how powerful an existence would need to be to casually claim they could break through an entire universe.
"Please answer my question first."
In fact, at this moment, Peter did have the confidence to break through this cosmic barrier.
After all, the ability to destroy an entire universe and breaking through a cosmic barrier were fundamentally different concepts.
However, what made Peter feel difficult was how to eliminate the huge energy generated when destroying the cosmic barrier and the impact it would have on his own universe.
"This... I'm afraid I'm also powerless. You just saw it, the dimensional barrier was barely able to withstand the shockwave from your punch."
The Ancient One, as the protector of Earth, naturally possessed immense strength.
But even with such power, she was ultimately just a human being with limits.
Being able to confront powerful dimension lords with human flesh was already an incredible achievement.
But now, wanting to resist the immense energy of universal destruction was almost impossible, even at the cost of her life.
"Perhaps, the only way to stop all of this is to push it out of our universe."
"But, that's equally impossible."
At this moment, both of our universes are closely connected, almost impossible to separate..."
The Ancient One slowly spoke, her words making the atmosphere even more somber.
"Push it out of our universe?"
"Well... that might also be a good idea."
Hearing the Ancient One's words, Peter slowly raised his head, looking at Doctor Strange enveloped in the cosmic barrier, his gaze gradually firm.
