[Superman] Chapter 156: The Plan to Leave the Universe
🕑 Added 2024-06-22 16:06:27 +0000 UTCCountless people stared at the cracks that traversed the sky, slowly being smoothed over by a gigantic hand.
"Could the owner of that hand... be our Mr. Superman?"
Although unclear about what exactly was happening, everyone in this universe could sense a wave of inexplicable reassurance.
Especially those familiar with Peter, they speculated that the one using their hand to smooth the universe's cracks might indeed be their revered Mr. Superman.
However, among the people from the other universe, some seemed to have realized something not quite right.
Especially the Flash, relying on his understanding of the multiverse, could feel that with the cracks in the sky completely closing, they were likely to be permanently left in this unfamiliar universe.
"No, I must inform everyone about this crucial information!"
The Flash gazed at the cracks in the sky gradually being smoothed over, his eyes filled with a grave expression.
Realizing the severity of the situation, the Flash did not hesitate and transformed into lightning, swiftly traversing through the city of New York.
"What... what's happening?"
In the sky, Clark looked towards the immense universal crack, his expression becoming incredibly solemn.
Through the universal crack, he seemed to sense an incredibly terrifying aura.
Suddenly, Clark's gaze shifted from the crack above to the distant sky.
There, a peculiarly shaped fighter jet was hurtling towards him.
"Is that... Bruce?"
Seeing the familiar Batplane, Clark's initially solemn expression couldn't help but ease.
If he was the hope and soul of the entire Justice League,
then Batman was the heart and brain of the entire Justice League!
The fighter jet's speed was astonishing, almost arriving in front of Clark in the blink of an eye. Despite being separated by thousands of meters, the two seemed to instantly understand each other's gaze.
Bruce nodded towards Clark from a distance, then decisively maneuvered the fighter jet and sped towards the other League members below.
At this moment, the melee between both sides had already been abruptly halted by the unexpected turn of events, although the battle had been intense just moments ago, leaving both sides feeling varying degrees of exhaustion.
"Great, it's Bruce."
The members of the Justice League looked at the familiar Batplane in the sky, their eyes instantly filled with excitement.
Whoosh!
The fighter jet roared through the sky.
However, Batman suddenly leaped off the jet before it had completely landed.
His cape fluttered behind him, moonlight enveloping his figure, resembling a bat dancing under the moonlight.
Thud!
The specialized boots landed on the ground, emitting a silent sound.
"Good evening, everyone!"
Batman stood up slowly, looking at his companions.
"Thank goodness, Bruce, you're finally here!"
Aquaman didn't hesitate to approach Batman, clapping a large hand on his shoulder, filled with immense excitement.
Swish!
Just then, there was a sonic boom in the sky.
"Bruce..."
"Clark..."
Accompanied by a figure slowly descending from the sky, Clark and Bruce exchanged a glance, without needing to say much.
"Great, members of our Justice League are finally completely assembled here!"
Green Lantern looked at the two core members of the League arriving, his eyes flashing with uncontrollable excitement.
Just as everyone felt excited about gathering in an unfamiliar environment,
Suddenly, a streak of red and yellow lightning flashed in the distance.
In the blink of an eye, a figure clad in red battle gear appeared before everyone.
"Everyone, we might have a problem..."
Seeing the timely arrival of the Flash, just as everyone's inner excitement increased, they noticed that the Flash's expression was not as excited as when they gathered, but rather filled with seriousness as he looked at everyone, then slowly spoke.
...
"What did you say? We might be stuck in this universe forever?"
"No! Absolutely not. My family is waiting for me. I cannot be trapped in this damn place!"
Soon, everyone understood the crisis they were facing from the Flash. The initial excitement of the League's assembly vanished completely.
Without a doubt, unless they've experienced something extraordinary, almost no one would want to stay in a completely unfamiliar universe.
Because in their original universe, they still had friends and family waiting for their safe return.
"Bruce, what should we do now?"
The mood was incredibly heavy, and as if by mutual understanding, everyone turned their gaze to Bruce.
Because in the face of every difficult situation before, it was always Bruce, with his exceptional wisdom, who came up with the corresponding solutions and plans.
"Does the complete closure of the universal rift mean that the two universes are completely separated, and we will be forever trapped in this universe?"
Batman pondered the shocking information from the Flash, and even his resolute face showed a trace of gravity.
"The rift caused by the universe splitting..."
As Batman continued to think, he suddenly seemed to realize something, and a hint of excitement appeared in his eyes.
"Bruce, do you have a plan?"
Everyone noticed Batman's unusual demeanor and couldn't help but ask with anticipation.
"Yes, perhaps that rift is the key to us leaving this universe!"
Batman nodded slowly to everyone, then turned his gaze to the rift in the sky, which was steadily shrinking.
As everyone followed Batman's gaze to the massive rift in the sky, Batman looked at the Flash and said, "Barry, can you open a space-time portal to our universe from here?"
"Sorry, Bruce. When we first arrived in this strange universe, I tried using my speed to open a portal back to our universe."
"Unfortunately, I failed."
Faced with everyone's hopeful eyes, the Flash could only speak the truth, even though he didn't want to shatter their hopes.
"Damn it!"
Upon hearing the Flash's words, Aquaman couldn't help but curse, though his anger wasn't directed at the Flash.
...
"No, Barry, I believe the reason you couldn't open the portal initially was because the two universes were merging. Their realities were overlapping, making space extremely stable. You couldn't open a portal in such solid space, nor could you use the Speed Force to locate our universe's coordinates."
Batman still looked resolutely at the Flash, speculating why he failed to open a portal at the beginning.
"Bruce, you mean...?"
Hearing Batman's hypothesis, the Flash seemed to understand something instantly, a look of excitement spreading across his face.
"Yes, now that the realities of the two universes are separating, the previously solid space is becoming incredibly fragile..."
"So, if we can seize that crucial moment just before the two universes completely separate and open a stable space-time portal, we can successfully leave this unfamiliar universe and return to our home."
Batman's continued explanation made the other League members immensely excited.
"Great, we can finally leave this damn place!"
Aquaman was the first to be unable to contain his excitement.
"Don't get too excited just yet. Although this plan sounds simple, executing it is far from easy."
"Especially for Barry, it will be an extremely difficult challenge."
Despite having formulated a plan quickly, Batman's expression did not relax.
Because he knew that this plan would be an incredibly tough test for the Flash.
"Barry, you..."
At this moment, everyone turned their gaze to the Flash, their eyes filled with both expectation and trust in their companion.
"Don't worry, since there's a chance to get everyone out of here, I'll give it my all!"
The Flash understood the difficulty of the plan.
The challenge wasn't just in opening a space-time portal with the Speed Force, but in timing it precisely at the moment just before the two universes completely separated.
Even for him, it was an unknown and challenging test.
"Barry, we believe in you!"
At this moment, everyone had nothing but strong trust in their teammate.
"Everyone, it's not just us who came to this strange universe. Let's take this time to gather everyone here..."
With the plan set, Batman addressed the group again, wanting to gather everyone together.
"Wait, did you forget about us? So arrogantly making escape plans?"
Just as they were about to follow Batman's plan to summon others, Thor, who had been listening to their discussion for a long time, seemed to grow impatient.
"Are you going to stop us?"
Batman turned slowly, with Clark standing beside him. The Justice League members behind them looked at Thor and his group with resolute eyes.
At that moment, the world fell silent again, as if a new battle was about to erupt between the two sides!
......
"Alright, Thor."
Suddenly, just as tensions were at their peak, Captain America stepped forward slowly. He addressed Thor first, then turned to Batman and the others.
"I can sense that most of you bear no ill will here."
"Our conflict arose because we must protect our home!"
"However, now that you've chosen to leave on your own accord, we won't oppose your plan..."
"But you must promise us that if your plan fails and you cannot successfully leave our universe, you will cease resistance and accept our authority..."
Captain America spoke slowly, delivering unexpected information that surprised Clark and the others greatly.
"Are you serious?"
Batman couldn't quite believe it. The enemies they had faced just moments ago were now changing their minds so easily.
"Of course I'm serious. We're not villains, and we don't hide behind masks. I came here mainly to expel you from our universe."
"Since you've chosen to leave on your own, I won't stop you."
Tony, who had arrived almost simultaneously with Batman and had already removed his helmet, walked confidently out of the crowd, standing side by side with Captain America.
But his words seemed to carry a deeper meaning.
"What about him?"
Clark looked at Thor, who held an axe, his expression serious. Despite appearing somewhat simple, his strength commanded respect.
"Well..."
Thor swung his axe, instantly making Clark and the others nervous.
"Since everyone's saying so, I have nothing to argue about. After all, we Asgardians love peace the most!"
Thor then sheathed his axe, a friendly smile appearing on his face.
"Alright, problem solved perfectly, happy ending for all!"
"Everyone, don't rush to leave. It's been a while, so let's have a party at my mansion to celebrate!"
For Tony, as long as his universe was not threatened, this crisis was perfectly resolved.
"We apologize for the sudden intrusion and any threat it may have caused."
"But as they say, adversity introduces us to ourselves. Your strength has truly impressed us."
"You are worthy heroes protecting this universe."
As Batman and the others prepared to leave this universe voluntarily, the crisis that had erupted due to their sudden arrival was now perfectly resolved.
......
Not long after, more heroes and even a few villains from the DC universe were gathered here by others.
The result was astonishing. The merging of the two universes' realities had taken less than half an hour. There were already dozens of individuals from the DC universe in this one, all with special abilities capable of creating significant chaos.
Moreover, if the merging process hadn't been interrupted, it wouldn't have been long before the two universes' realities fully overlapped. More people from both universes would have appeared here simultaneously.
"Barry, are you ready?"
With everyone now gathered, all eyes turned to the Flash, who was clad in his suit.
"Don't worry, I'll do my best to get everyone back!"
"Run, Barry, RUN!"
With the encouraging looks from everyone, Barry nodded. In the next moment, he transformed into a streak of lightning, running at high speed around everyone.
In an instant, the rapidly moving Flash created a dazzling light, enveloping everyone.
"Do you think they can succeed?"
Nearby, Tony and the others hadn't left yet. They waited for either the success or failure of the plan.
"Regardless, we need to stay focused and be ready for any changes in their plan!"
Although they agreed to the plan and allowed them to leave, it didn't mean they completely trusted them.
"Let's hope... there won't be any unexpected issues!"
Captain America watched the rapidly moving figure with a serious expression. He had a feeling that things wouldn't end so easily.
The Flash, spinning rapidly, gathered an immense amount of Speed Force.
In front of everyone, a bright sphere of light formed.
The Speed Force, one of the most mysterious powers in the DC universe, not only opened portals to other universes but also allowed travel through time, modifying the past and future.
However, at this moment, the Flash, despite wielding such a powerful force, had a fatal flaw.
"Damn, why is this happening!"
As Barry ran, he suddenly felt a wave of weakness wash over him, causing his expression to change drastically.
